drown your sorrows in a bar that won't drown you.
Who: Everyone's welcome!
Broadcast: No
Action: Málum, Crowley's bar on the Iskaulit
When: The latter half of March, until they leave the system.
[Though there are 'dry bars' down on the water planet, Crowley's bar is still open. Even the apocalypse couldn't close this thing. Whether you're angsting over something you got from home or you just DON'T TRUST THE OCEAN, there is a leather seat at Málum waiting for you.]

Today is a little special, though. He's trying some new recipes. There are free samples in little paper cups. They appear to be bits of handmade bread with some kind of pesto dip. It's delicious! Other new dishes include a tomato and a bunch of dots, whatever the fuck this is, and some variation of poutine that's entirely in a tonka truck for no reason.
For those without resonance, they won't be able to see him-- but they can certainly see floating food and more behind the bar. Sometimes he helps make drinks, too, which is even weirder.
After his shift is over, he hangs around for a while with an entire bottle of dark rum. There might not appear to be anyone sitting in that seat but don't you dare try to take it.]

Either way, he's sitting on a bar stool, swinging his legs slightly as he watches Dezel make his newest creations. He's on this third free sample. ]
Is it...avocado pudding?
[Yeah. He's taken to just randomly guessing whatever that one is]
no subject
He looks up from making another weird green thing.]
Fruit puree reduction blended with matcha sorbet, garnished with basil leaves and minced fruit.
[Obviously.]
no subject
Oh. 'Course. Obviously.

[He sets one in front of Sora, smiling faintly from beneath the shadow of his hat.]
Here, on me. You need to eat something besides bread after all.
no subject
[He'll grab a spoon and sit up straighter, always happen to try a new food of Dezels. ]
- Hey! This is good!
no subject
It's not too sweet?
no subject
[look at him, actually giving some thought to it]
It's a little strong with the sweetness, but I think it's supposed to be? I dunno.
[Sora wasn't exactly picky though]
no subject
[He'll just add another apple while blending the fruit, it's no big deal.]
Thanks. It's good to get multiple opinions on something.
no subject
[He was no expert on cooking, but when you sit and watch Dezel cook as many times as Sora did, you start to learn things]
Of course! Is this gonna be a new dish served here?

[Adalwolfe rolls an empty tonka truck along with bar with one finger, having long since devoured the drippy fries on his lunch break. With a flick of his wrist, he sends it rattling down the counter to bump Dezel's arm. It's easier to do these things now that he can actually see the spirit.]
no subject
[It bumps his arm and he just kind of... stares down at it. He should be offended, but he's really not. Adalwolfe is a good dude.
He settles his fingers on it, then sends the toy right back down the counter-- and this time, it does some excellent swerves to avoid some glasses.
He's a showoff.]
no subject
The truck stops before it reaches him, does a three point turn, and then pops up on its back tires and speeds off the counter in an epic jump onto the floor, tires squealing before it rockets off again to dodge table legs.]
I can't complain about the taste, everything is delicious, I just don't see why he feels the need to dress it up with silly gimmicks.
[Drools, who had been dozing in a corner, perks up at the sound of the truck at floor level and immediately hauls himself to his feet to chase it.]

My guess is that it differentiates us from the people across the hall. They have the same alcohol we do, or at least it tasted the same when I tried it.
Typical business practice.

He glances over at Dezel, attributing the slight blur around him to either the drinks or the lighting.]
You're still here?
no subject
I'm not working now.
[He lifts his bottle of rum as if that explains everything.]
... I didn't know you could see me.
no subject
[He gives Dezel a skeptical look, wondering if the man is joking. Felix has a terrible habit, likely leftover from the Mirador, of mentally filing the people who work at the bar under 'the help' and largely ignoring their existence unless they speak to him first.]
Of course I can see you, you've been in and out of the kitchen all afternoon.
no subject
looks like there's no bartender, and this late at night there aren't really any servers so aizawa sighs deeply, picks up his plate and y'know what, heads to the kitchen himself. pushes his way in holding the plate.]
Hey, look, this is really artistic and the...turtle chia-pet bowl is a nice touch, but I'd like more of this only all at once. Can I get five of these on just one plate-like thing?
no subject
Employees only. Get out.
[He reaches out to place a hand on Aizawa's chest and push him back while his other hand grabs the plate. He doesn't care if Aizawa can or can't hear him. That should be enough to deter him from trespassing further-- he's not being violent, not yet.]
no subject
aizawa drops that plate and it floats, but he slaps away whatever's against his chest, leaning back with his hands up and ready to block or punch. WHO IS THAT. WHO'S THERE. he's got his eyes on but it's not like he knows what to look at.]
