[The message gets sent out fairly late at night, once she's absolutely sure. She's known about Kaito for a few weeks, but she wasn't inclined to notify everyone when it was just him departing. Now, though... In some ways, it cuts deeper when she realizes who else has left.]

if anyone was friends or whatever with aoko nakamori or kaito kuroba, they both left the fleet at some point. guess it makes sense they'd both take off within a few weeks of each other, they were kind of a package deal.

anyways, that's all i really had to say. sorry for the bad news.

Yeah. I think I mentioned I was only there for like... Four months, maybe five? Not sure. It feels like it was a lot longer, but that's probably for other reasons. Anyways. It's kind of like... When you're constantly learning stuff about other people's lives and vice versa with no other option, you don't really have a choice but to start to care about them. Not to mention, I mean, we got memories back by competing together, and we lived together and everything. We had to figure out how to work together and get along and shit like that.

There's one person here who was on the same team as I was, but the rest I haven't seen since I got here. I mean, I passed out for a few weeks a while back and remembered more that had happened there, but - you know.

[Idly, she swings her feet back and forth under the table.]

Sometimes I worry that the same thing's going to happen again, you know? That I've gotten to a point where there are people here that are really important to me, and then tomorrow I'll just - wake up somewhere else far away. [She runs a hand through her hair.] I don't know. Maybe it's stupid.

[ there are a lot of points here that are upsetting, that require thinking. kitty always said that it felt like she's been at the prison much longer than she supposedly has according to day count. and he remembers natalie getting new memories of that place...it's a terrible fear of his with kitty, especially now that he knows for a fact that a version of her has stayed behind.

but the most important thing right now to him is opal. his hand slips down her arm to find hers and give it a little squeeze. ]

Stupid is the last thing it is. But I know - I know - that we're gonna get out of here someday, there's no such thing as a perfect system. This? Holding us? They can't keep it up. There's a chink in their armor and we're going to find it, and if you're not here when it happens? Nightingale and I will rip the multiverse apart to bring you home. You're important to people here, too, and we're never gonna give up on you.

[She pauses to blink up at him, but then the sincerity in his words catches up with her, and she has to look away again. Given the small smile on her face despite the topic at hand, though, it might not be such a bad thing. There's a pause before she speaks.]

Sometimes I wonder what I did to deserve that.

[She takes care to make sure it comes out sounding more casual than what she's been saying for the past few minutes. There's even a bit of warmth in it.]

[ he'll try to coax her into a hug but if she doesn't willingly respond, he'll let go and go back to his ice cream. ]
