I haven't taken the time to endure the exploits many of you have been. It doesn't suit me, I think. I'm being productive in other ways, although I'm not sure I can share the fruits of my labor. But bearing something is fulfillment, right? If you have given life to your work, it feels good, even if that life is mild and quiet. Sometimes, perhaps, even moreso then. Well, not everybody wants to be in history books.

Hey, what's some soap you really like? I've gotten myself blotted with ink, which is why I'm pausing to sit back and talk. I didn't want to mark my papers. Then again, it's dry by now, so maybe I can just leave it.

One more question. Does anyone want to make a small trade?

I suppose it's a comfort to know you're an equal partner in the phenomenon. And I'm not the only one to blame for it.

I have been blamed for phenomena less fun than this one. If this is my transgression for the day, I'd like to go ahead and stick with it.

A little and more than a little. Once, bicycle theft.

And you were innocent of it, of course?

I didn't consider it theft. The bicycles were for "employees only". Technically I was an employee.

On loan from elsewhere, I guess, but still in their employment. I don't know, it's all right if it really was theft. I had fun.

Then, what are your fun things? Remember I'm coming from a place of theft on a technicality, so there's nothing too outrageous.

All sorts. I like puzzles. A bit of hiking, if the planet allows it. And I'm quite partial to the firing range on the Iskaulit.

Puzzles! I knew you were formidable.

Cryptic crosswords and ciphers especially. I post a few of the latter to the network every now and again.

I've seen. It perplexed me. But it takes a very long time for me to think about those things.

Fair enough. And I'll admit they can be a bit tricky for anyone who isn't a fluent Anglophone.

Oh, I can work my way around a language. But I wouldn't say I do well with intrigue.

It's an enviable skill.

You learn to get a taste for it over time.

I find myself agreeing with you. I've been learning all about computers -- being here has made that pipe dream into a very real opportunity.

Computers aren't so bad. They can do a great many things, but I don't have a lot of fun with them. Unless you count search engines and encylcopedias. That's the best.

Search engines. They're the programs where you type in a word and it brings up references to it, yes? Like an index?

Precisely. You can enter phrases and questions, too. That's how I learned about convenience stores, worldwide traditions of marriage, and the Cambrian Period, among other things.

Devilishly more convenient than a library, I take it.

It contains many things libraries do any even more things libraries don't. Texts are easily searchable, too, by keyword or key phrases. There are few subjects lacking a primer on the Internet.

Oh, and I mustn't discount video sharing sites...

I've heard about these, I think. Are you talking about the Netflicker?
