Recipe #001 - Arrival
Who: Ignis Scientia
Broadcast: Network Communication
Action: Aboard the Marvisa
When: On the evening of the 28th
[When he'd stepped aboard the ship in Caem, he'd known that he'd be leaving behind everything he'd ever known for the unknown, but this? Not what he had in mind. The others are nowhere around—something that set off all of the panic buttons in his brain—and he is mostly definitely not in a water craft.
The air is chilled, but there's no salty tang. He's warm and feels as if he's enveloped in a blanket. After a few moments of trying to get his bearings, he leaves what appears to be a bed in a...medical type room. A search of his person turns up his cellphone, his notebook, pen and... another communications device. He takes a few seconds to appraise it before opening to use the item.]
Hello. I'm not sure whom I'm addressing, but my name is Ignis Scientia. As I appear to be new to this place and there are others here as well, I would like to know where I am and what is going on.
[The look on his face says that if you waste his time, he will hang up on you.]
Also, if anyone knows the whereabouts of Prompto Argentum, Gladiolus Amicitia or Noctis Caelum, I would appreciate being told.

[Ignis has always seen his prince as both friend and potential ruler and given him his difference as necessary. Prompto is the one who's seen their mutual friend as Noctis first and prince second. It's harder for Ignis and Gladio, considering their positions in the royal household. However, they are a lot more lax with Noctis than they were expected to be.]
A week, with Chancellor Izunia and the Oracle here.
[Way to throw water on the whole campfire, Noct.]
It might be wise to keep them separated. He's too comfortable with twisting words to his advantage and the Empire's never made any attempt to slow down their desire for conquest of all of Eos.
no subject
[Which means he's been somewhat shirking his work on the Wonderduck but no one had complained to him yet about it. His biggest concern is if Ardyn decided to pay Luna a visit on the Blameless. So far he'd been good enough to keep his distance.]
Maybe once you're off the Marsiva we could keep an eye out in shifts? Or something.
[Quietly -]
I just want to make sure she's safe.
[He didn't often let himself be sentimental or vulnerable around his friends, finding expressing his true feelings about Luna to be beyond embarrassing, but he knew Ignis wasn't likely to tease him the way Prompto or Gladio might.]
no subject
[No need to say that they'd both be better off if Ignis was on the same ship as his prince. Better for the rest of whatever crew had to deal with the both of them as well. He can only imagine what sort of things he's done by himself if Izunia is here, as well as the Oracle.]
I understand your unease, Noct.
[He does, and he's not about to make fun of him for it. It's not exactly the most ideal situation. Then again, they've been dealing with that since the moment he came to pick his friend up to help him move from his apartment and go to Altissia for the "wedding".]
However, I don't believe she's the kind of woman to enjoy smothering either.
[Helicopter groom? Not very attractive.]
Have you spoken to her about it?
no subject
[His voice raises slightly, giving way to agitation and vulnerability in equal measure.]
And since I'd rather be near her than him, it's easier if I keep an eye out near her than him.
[He falls quiet, ducking his head.]
No. Not really. She can probably guess why I'm around so much, though.
no subject
Perhaps it was beyond time for it to happen.
But that didn't make it a good thing either.]
You think that Izunia will do something to her then. Something that might put her in mortal danger.

[He was fine with having a target on his back, but Luna... he didn't want to have to face losing her again. He didn't want her to die here after she'd already gone through it once. In a way, he was dodging the truth while still telling bits and pieces and it felt so foreign to him. Ignis was his counsel. He should be able to tell him anything, and yet he was afraid of telling him the cost their fight in Altissia took on Ignis personally.]
This place is kind of weird and it's hard to explain but... what do you remember back home? The last thing you remember.
[If he could hear that, maybe it would help him decide what to say to Ignis. As it stood, he wasn't about to tell him over the network like this.]
no subject
[AKA you are behaving abnormally. Explain yourself or fix it right away. Either way, you now have Ignis watching you for any more unusual behavior.]
What I remember was joining Cid on your father's ship as we left Cor, Iris and Talcott in Caem.
[There is an itch telling him something is very wrong with Noctis and it has nothing to do with Ardyn Izunia. Not really.]
Why?
no subject
Right. The reason I ask is that sometimes this place can be a bit weird, I've heard. The last thing I remember was us getting to Altissia and going through getting the Hydrean's blessing.
[That was the most succinct way he could put things without talking about all the horrible things that happened as a result of facing the Hydrean. He might get a lecture later about keeping secrets but he was willing to face it for the moment.]
If you want me to go into details it'll have to be in person, though. It's a long story.
no subject
Then that would make three of the gods that you've managed to complete the trials for.
[Even if Titan didn't go as smoothly as they'd've liked. However, he's knows there's more than to the story because Noctis is terrible at keeping secrets from him. And he's been acting strangely this entire time.]
I want them. All of them.
no subject
[The boys did, anyway.]
Sure, but let's find you some coffee strong enough for you to actually enjoy it first, before I go sitting you down to play catch up.
[He was trying to make a sarcastic joke but it felt forced, even to him. He was trying to push humor into the conversation to cover up how utterly tired and devastated he was at the prospect of telling Ignis everything. He didn't like lying and he didn't like dodging him. Ignis was one of his brothers and he trusted him with his life, and yet he couldn't tell him utterly he'd failed him and allowed him to get hurt. He knew Ignis would say something along the lines of 'sacrifices for the greater good' and he didn't want to hear it.]
no subject
[Little does he know, but he can guess.
However, that comment about coffee is a little off-putting.]
It doesn't have to be Ebony, Noctis, but there is some sort of coffee around here.
[What do you mean there's no coffee? WHERE'S THE COFFEE GONE?! (He'll make do with a bastardized version even.)]
And that has nothing to do with the fact that you have to play "catch up" at all.
no subject
[Hence the 'catch up']
So, while you remember certain things, those things happened days ago for me.
[Sighing, he runs his fingers through his bangs. He's terrible at this kind of detailed explanation type stuff.]
So it's like that. You'd probably feel better hearing everything that you don't know about with coffee in front of you and with me sitting face face instead of on these things.
no subject
[Or is this personal experience? If so, there are questions to be answered.]
When you say days, are you talking about the days here or back on Eos? [He looks at his friend's face on the small screen and shakes his head.] On second thought, I suppose the answer to that question can wait until we are face to face.
no subject
[Casually just going to shove his hands into his pockets while he tries to suss out what else they can discuss about this. He's probably getting tons of info. Everyone here was friendly in that regard.]
no subject
[Ignis doesn't really see the need to spread any personal information whatsoever on this broadcasting network. They aren't entitled to anything about him, television program for space peoples or not.]
The rest of my questions can wait for our discussion in private.
