You want a parade for making a purchase? [ a questionable not that legal one at that, even if the bullets are blanks. ]

I really just want one in general. [And he's mostly kidding.]

[ he pats his shoulder ]

Does Kara get parades?

She probably will, eventually, Superman has a bunch of stuff in his honor.

Like what?

Like parks, streets, statues, schools, a float in the Thanksgiving parade...

Why doesn't Kara have any of those? She would be a beautiful statue.

[ he smiles ]

I'm sure she will, it's just that Superman's been doing this a lot longer. I looked up to him as a kid.

How long has Kara been doing it?

Just a couple years. We're all pretty new at this.

Really? What stopped her before? [He can't imagine anything stopping Kara from doing what she does.]

I think that's the kinda thing you should be asking her.

[Nodding.] It probably is. [Buuut asking about her past can only inspire her to ask about his so he's focused on the present and future for the most part.]

[ he taps his glass ]

Things are going okay? [ no he doesn't want details, no, he doesn't want to get caught in the middle. but he's not blind nor is he stupid - he saw how things were after the rumors, he sees how afraid mon-el seems to be to step one toe out of line; it's exactly how he used to be. kitty mostly loved that out of him, at least with her. he loves kara dearly but he knows that's not exactly her number one top quality. he worries. ]

Things have been great. She's great. [But there is that underlying fear he has waiting for the other shoe to drop. Waiting to mess it up. Waiting for the Atroma to reveal his secret before he does. Waiting for him to do it and say the wrong things. Are there right things to say? The prince in his lie sounded a lot more noble than he does. He didn't know how bad it would go wanting to celebrate being together or admitting he'd been with Natasha before they got together. So, this time when he is worried about it...how much worse will it be? Will she even speak to him again?]

[ he smiles a little at that ]

It's a lot of stress, isn't it. Dating the perfect girl.

You feel it too? [He smiles and then he looks more thoughtful for a moment.] Has she ever taken a break from you?

Every damn day, Kitty is so far out of my league I still can't even believe she's looking at me.

[ fondly. he shakes his head, though. ]

Neither one of us does well with breaks. When we had our worst fight we just...went to sleep in silence, that's as much of a break as we've had. But we're...not exactly normal. Her world sucked and the guy she dated before me...really messed her up. And I can't believe she's even looking at me, so we cling.

I mean this as no insult to Kitty, but I think you're in the same league.

I'm glad no one messed with Kara. Glad for their sake too. The clinging part doesn't sound too bad though.

[ he smiles but shakes his head; he'll never stop believing that kitty is too good for him. ] Thanks.

[ snort ] Yeah...I gotta admit in my dark moments I fantasize about that guy's face connecting with Kara's fist. [ no one gets to hurt the woman he loves, even if it wasn't his fault, from the way kitty tells it. he still doesn't like him and no one can make him! ] It's not bad, but it's definitely not for everyone. You know, Kara likes doing her own thing more, Kitty and I hate to be alone. There's a reason we work so well together. Well, a lot of reasons, actually - [ stop him at any time, mon-el, he won't stop himself ]

You seem really happy. Happier than I remember you at home and I didn't think of you as unhappy there. [Is this stopping or encouraging? He can never tell.]

I am. I'm - I can't remember ever being happier. [ smitten is just all over his face, his voice, his body language. ] She's everything I ever wanted and she loves me back - I've been kidnapped into space, and it's been the best year of my life.

[He clasps a hand over Winn's shoulder and gives it a squeeze.] Then I'm happy too. Happy for you. It looks good on you.
