There's not much more to the story.

We dated for about eight months. We broke up and we talked it out before and after, but I didn't say anything because she left the Fleet and I was beating myself up over it. I don't know if I'm in the wrong. I could be.

It's stupid. I know it's stupid, but I wasn't being the boyfriend she deserved. I wasn't putting her first when I needed to, or thinking of her when I should've. Not because of anything she did. She's amazing. Anyone would be lucky to have her.

I don't know if I told you. I'm amnesiac, and every so often, I'll get a piece of myself back and realize I used to be someone different. Someone that wasn't the kind of guy Alex would date. She liked this sappy tea-drinking medic, and I wasn't that guy. (Old me was a dick.)
