[The feed opens up to one of the larger, empty rooms in the Iskaulit. There's a few boxes stacked around, but otherwise the room is starkly empty. Sokka grins, raising his arms in the middle of the room. In the background, Maglor seems to be moving stuff out of boxes.]

So, hey guys! Me and Maglor have decided it'd be a great idea to build a forge on the Iskaulit. So many people don't have a clue what they're doing with guns, we figured giving them a chance to have weapons more suited to their time period might help them out a little.

Plus, you know, Atroma can suck it with taking our weapons away from us. We'll just make new ones.

ANYhoo, it's obviously gonna be a while before it gets set up, but anyone willing to come help build it, or gather materials, that kind of thing would be really appreciated. We'll put your names on a little plaque or something. Hopefully, we'll get something awesome out of this.

[ Yuri shrugs, in a sorry not sorry manner. He has no patience for sacrifices. ]

Not enough times, though.

Probably not, but I am old and stubborn and set in my ways.

[ Maglor shrugs wryly ]

Maybe if enough people say it, one day I will be able to believe it.

Sorry. I only say it to people who want to save themselves.

Then I fear you will be out of luck with me.

[ Maglor shrugs again, wry ]

Best you leave the hard work to my brother... I might even believe him, one of these days.

I'm not that invested. Like I said. I only save those who want to save themselves.

[ And any person who is ready to trust more in curses and sacrifices than their family is not someone Yuri is going to fight for. ]

It is better that way.

No. It's really not.

[ But Yuri isn't that far. He's not a hero and he never will be. ]

That's just something you tell yourself.

Perhaps.

[ Maglor lifts an amused eyebrow at him ]

I think maybe you are kinder than you like folk to think you are.

[ Maglor is well aware of his own hypocrisy, but Yuri has neither stormed away nor quit ]

You're imagining things.

Perhaps!

[ Maglor smiles and dips his head in a bow ]

I will look forward to making your blade, I think.

A good blade in the hands of one who wields it well is its own reward, but I thank you.

[ Yuri snorts lightly, self-depreciating. ]

Wielding it well is debatable. But I don't wield it lightly anymore.

[bythewaves]

And is that not a good part of wielding it well?

[evervigilante]

A sword is still a weapon. Wielding it, no matter what your reasoning is, still makes it a heavy burden.

[bythewaves]

While I agree with you, not all see it so, which is a pity.

[evervigilante]

[ Yuri shrugs. ]

I wouldn't call it that. Just human nature.

[bythewaves]

[ Maglor's lips quirk into a smile ]

Maybe so, but that changes not the fact that it is a sad thing!

Nature? I don't really liken it to good or bad. It's only bad when it hits an extreme.

[ Alexei was good once. Ragou was evil. Those titles meant nothing to Yuri's sword. ]

Extremes are always dangerous, but I suppose it makes me sad that folk would tip that way at all.

Sadness can be an extreme as well. It's not always the anger or power.

[bythewaves]

True enough. But anger is destructive in a way that few things are, I find.

Anger is destructive. Sadness is inaction. Either way, when you hit an extreme, no one benefits.
