[There's a clanking sound, like someone rattling a stack of pots and pans. But for some, it's a recognizable sound of someone sprinting in full armor. It's a short-statured individual in blue and gold as he rushed into the frame from the bottom, where he'd done a number on a few of the robotic equipment that had been poking and prodding at him when he awoke.]

Shield Knight!

[The figure stopped, listened for a response. Upon hearing none, he moved quickly along the blank white walls, ignoring the equipment as his hands flit over the surfaces. He knocked, he listened, and perhaps sought where one portion would be weakest. Here is where he would lower his center and shoulder-ram the wall with all of his might. Rather than give way, the wall was more stalwart than he. He grunted his discomfort and tread back, taking a look around.]

Shield Knight! [Silence.]

Please... I cannot lose you again...

[He balled his fists and stood at the ready. Unarmed, but feisty.]

No. I must not falter. The Tower! Perhaps I am still in the Tower of Fate. But what knave takes a knight's weapon without a contest...?

[He froze. Shocked, yes, but had the Enchantress struck him with some form of teleportation magic? Stranger still...]

Zounds... But travel beyond the stars is impossible! The airships and their pilots could only dream of taking such steps.

Where- no, that isn't right and nearly as mad- when am I?

It is all rather fantastical I had to agree.

[Ardyn is from a world with magic and swords too, albeit a more modern version than Shovel Knight's.]

When? I cannot give you that answer, as I do not know myself. All I can speculate is that we are sometime in the future.

The future... [His head may start spinning, but if he let himself be floored with every new piece of information, he may find himself falling behind. There was no way to confirm much of what he was being told, but there was nothing that jingled of falsehoods in the man's speech.

There was one other with me when the Enchantress' magic broke free of the amulet, a woman with red and gold armor, wielding a shield at each arm. Please... would you know if she may be here somewhere?

I'm afraid I've not seen the woman you seek. This fleet is a big place and I'm sure such a woman would have been mentioned on the network if someone found her. Tell me, what is the name of your world you hail from?

[He's very interested in your world. In fact, he's positively enraptured.]

[Damn it all. But he was sure she was in one piece. He was sure of it. She was strong.]

Ah- Earth. I hail from the Valley, a land of dragons, wizards, and more than your fair share of knights that each follow a differing creed rather than sitting at one table.

...So other worlds exist. Other earths, hidden among the stars. To think that our scholars were so sure that ours was the very center...!

Dragons and wizards? How fantastical.

[He wasn't being sarcastic either, not this time.]

You could say our worlds are quite similar in that aspect, since we also have daemons, which look like dragons, also creatures which can be called a large dragon-like creature.

Indeed they do. Fascinating, isn't it? I never once believed that man could make it to the stars in these space craft.

I suppose ascending above is one way to avoid said dragons and wizards. It leads me to wonder if perhaps the former's numbers have grown and the land is inhospitable here.
