First day at space
Who: Prompto and You
Broadcast: Yes
Action: Marsiva
When: Currently
[He thinks he’s still in Zegnautus Keep at first. The bunk feels more comfortable than he remembers, but a slab of rock would feel like a heavenly pillow after being strung up on some weird contraption. It’s only after he’s been staring at a ceiling and not the underside of the upper bunk that it starts to dawn on him. This isn’t one of the dormitories tucked away in the keep.
He sits up, confusion making him slow. This could all be a dream. (Would he know it was a dream if it was a dream? Does that make it not a dream?)]
Must have hit my head…
[He reaches up to test the gash that had been sitting pretty near his temple. And finds nothing. Actually, he’s feeling pretty good all over right now, and isn’t that weird?
His feet carry him to the to the viewing bay. If he’s dreaming, he’s got a killer imagination.]
Wow.

And right now, at this very moment, she's glad to be able to have such a good memory. Because right now, as she's busily folding a few new shirts she's gotten from a store within one of the asteroids for Noctis, she can hear a voice coming over her communications device. He sounds confused, which means he's a new arrival. She hums and finally takes her eyes off of the shirt she's currently busy with, but finds as soon as her gaze lands on the other blond, the garment falls right out of her hands.
It's been a few years, but she's seen this face before thanks to pictures sent in her notebook. She knows who this is, and it takes her a few moments to collect herself. She hadn't had the privilege to meet him before her untimely demise, and she'd only ever gotten to speak to him through a single letter. But she could spot that blond hair and handsome face from a mile away, identifying it as Noctis' best friend immediately. ]
Excuse me... [ Her voice is quiet, trying not to startle him because she knows what it's like to be new and she's got a feeling that he's going to have at least two excited voices and faces bombarding him over the devices very soon. Well... as excited as Ignis can get. She's not sure if he'll recognize her (which is probably an ignorant line of thought considering how often she's been on televisions or the radio), or if he even knows what's happened to her at home. People arrive from all sorts of different timelines she's found. But she wants to make sure he remains calm, because the confusion he's probably feeling right now can't be pleasant. ]
...You've just arrived, I take it?
[ video ]
But it never happened. He knows what happened to her. He knows Noct was a mess, and Ignis was hurt, and his own grief didn't compare. But she's here, and talking to him - him - and he can only stare for a moment before fumbling out what he thinks are words.]
I-I, u-um... Yeah. I just arrived ... here...
[Wherever "here" is. He winces. Oh, wait...]
Um, ma'am... your... um, Lady...?
[ video ]
Forgive me, I am aware of how confusing this must be to you. The ship you are on is named the Marsiva, and you... have been dragged out into space along with the rest of us to entertain the masses for a reality television program. At least, that is what we have been told.
[ Noctis is certainly going to be happy to see him, and for that she's pleased. Same with Ignis -- it will be good for the two of them to have a friend from home here. But right now she pushes those thoughts out of her head. ]
Please, there is no need for formalities... it is a pleasure to finally be able to meet you, Prompto.
[ video ]
That doesn't sound real. N-not that I think you're lying or anything.
[He laughs. It's a little nervous.]
Is it? I mean, thank you. I mean, the pleasure's mine. [Breathe!] What would you like me to call you, then?
[ video ]
I agree... but it is the truth. It is a strange concept, to be one place one moment, and then here the next, is it not?
[ She offers him another smile, tipping her head slightly to the side as she considers. Really, he could call her whatever he wanted and she wouldn't be offended. ]
You may call me Luna, if you'd like. [ ...She's not sure if he's able to pronounce her whole name, after all. She's... still not sure Noctis can, but he hasn't tried yet and she's not about to put that amount of pressure on the poor man. ] I never dreamed that I would get the opportunity to meet you.
[ There's a pause. ] Noctis is here, and so is Ignis. It seems there is only one member of your party missing now.

Surely not.
It's only been a few days since he spoke to the lovely woman about him. Surely the Atroma could not have done something so decidedly cruel and pleasurable at the same time.
Is this how Noctis felt when he arrived? Or was it worse for his king? It was perhaps more negative than positive, considering the information he imparted to Ignis in their private conversations. However, not responding to his friend isn't a viable option either.]
Prompto. [He's not at all sure how he sounds, but he is pleased to see him.] I would welcome you here, but I fear that it's a little lackluster.

He realizes he's not saying anything, so he pushes a breath out past the ache in his throat.]
Ignis.
[The smile comes a little easier. He's good at smiling.]
Yeah. I'm still trying to wrap my head around what "here" is, exactly.
no subject
I see. That saves me some time then. I can safely assume that you've come from some point past our time in Altissia.
[It's written all over his face that he was expecting something, someone else. He can't help but wonder if he'll have to go through this again should Gladio or Iris show up.
It's already getting on his nerves and he's the patient member of their merry band of rogues.]
Here is space. I take it that you are on the Marsiva. You can think of it as the flagship of this fleet of space ships. I am currently on another ship called the First Breath. Noctis is on the Wonderduck.
[He pauses. Speaking of Lady Lunafreya isn't taboo, but it's a topic he and Noctis haven't really discussed in length either. But if Prompto knows about Ignis's future injury, he knows of the Oracle's fate as well. There's no point in concealing it.]
Lady Lunafreya is on a third ship. And Chancellor Izunia is on yet another.
no subject
Yeah. A bit... You're from my past. Our past. The past. Or, I'm from the future... [Both? It's both, isn't it? All of the above.
Focusing on the now is easier. Lunafreya had filled him in on his friends' whereabouts, so he simply nods. Until Izunia. Memories of Zegnautus are still fresh, front and center. He shudders.] The Chancellor is here?

[He gives her a confused kind of look. He doesn't expect she'll make any progress with that.]
That's a bad idea, you know. Can't breathe in space.
no subject
But Nono's gonna Nono. ]
It'll be fine! I'll just. Stick the window back on when I'm done!
no subject
Okay. Can I ask why then?

Maybe? Does it feel like you did?
[Just be cool, he keeps reminding himself. There was no sense losing his cool like he did with Ignis when he told him about Altissia. Prompto may not even remember the train either.]
no subject
He's just, so happy to see him. Luna told him his friends were here - all but Gladio - so he's not surprised.]
Not really. It's just weird, you know?
no subject
[It made him press his lips together in a thin line, just thinking about it. Ardyn was here too, lurking about. He'd been doing what he could to keep Luna in his sights practically at all times, as much as he could without behaving like a creepy hovering boyfriend.]
no subject
[Not that he was all gung-ho for that sort of thing. But there was one face he wouldn't mind showing the barrel of his gun.]
So, space TV show. I always wondered what it would be like to be on TV.

The last time he saw you was back in Insomnia with your beloved Noctis and boy band in tow. Funny thing, time.]
Ah, Prompto. Another addition to the merry band I see.
video;
Well, Iggy did warn him. He was hoping for a little more time to swallow the idea, however. A surprising amount of emotions surface, chief among them anger and, okay, fear. He can admit when he's scared. A little. Just a little. He thinks he does a good job of glaring back.]
They'll let anyone on these ships, huh?
no subject
[He's secretly enjoying trolling you, Prompto. You know him.]
I have to ask....what was the last thing you remember before you were brought aboard the ship?
[Had the boy befallen his fate at the Imperial fortress? Had he been locked up by Ardyn? The man had to know.]
no subject
The question isn't so unexpected. Ignis had warned him about this as well. He frowns.]
Why do you want to know? It's not really relevant.
