[Right, Jusis may not be too familiar with this technology, but it's worth a try to see if his 'captors' are watching, or maybe just guarding him somewhere. Just a hunch he has considering he's in a place he's never seen before. This is not a fun game to play and he sure as hell was in his manor before this happened.

So he stands up taut, confident as he calls out:]

To whoever brought me here,

I believe you have kidnapped the wrong person. If it is a ransom you seek, rest assured that you will not receive it. Bareahard can not be without me right now and I demand that you return me at once.

[Sounds like a typical thing a snobby noble would say. People actually paying close attention probably noticed he has the confidence in a leader as well as a look that clearly shows he's not backing down or bluffing.]

[And he's not going to stand around either. He'll be looking around the ship. He's not sure how he feels about the automation of this place -- it feels lonely, something Jusis is all too familiar with in his manor. Since he can't exactly sit down and work, he's looking out the windows, wondering why it's so dark. Space? Bah. What a childish thing to think.

At the very least he'll be hunting down a halfway decent meal and hopefully tea. He won't go for coffee. At all. Either way, he seems comfortable sitting by himself in the cafeteria and eating his food.]

[In response, Jusis crosses his arms. Good to see they're still... them.]

You make that sound so difficult.

[Always.

At this point, Fie's propped her comm against something so she can eat her meal at the cafe while they converse. She's hungry.]

I must admit, sometimes it is difficult.

[There's a bit of a smile on his face. Take a picture, Fie. It isn't going to last long.]

In that case, I appreciate the tremendous effort on your part.

[Now here's her smirk, friendlier than normal. She holds up her cup of drink in mock salute.]

[There's something liberating about having a friend. In general. Just... having friends. He's actually 'calming' down now. Aka not being so stoic.]

As long as you're aware. Though I hope my belief in you will pay off.

[The way he's talking, it's clear that he does believe in her and her ability to find him something. And belief that he will pay her back and that she won't refuse his payback.

Trust. Normal people call this 'trust'.]

Fie actually chuckles.]

I've been here about six weeks, and I honestly never expected to see anyone from home.

[And wait. That reminds her.]

Speaking of, this'll sound weird, but what's the last thing you remember from home?

The last thing? I was at my manor doing paperwork that I'm overwhelmed in.

[He's not really sure what she means, though. There's the implication he's the Duke of Bareahard now, but it's not explicitly said.]

Uh, what about the rest of us?

[She'll let him answer before explaining.]</small.

We've all gone our different ways as a result of the civil war. The only one still attending the academy is Rean.

[It's sad, but it's the reality they had to face.]

[He'll see her nod in affirmation.]

Okay. Same for both of us, then.

It's not a stretch, considering what's happened already, but people can be pulled from different points in time, too.

I suppose so, then. Guess that's convenient for us.

[Not having to talk about diverging timelines and all that. Especially after all that's happened to Erebonia in just the year.]

[Between bites of her meal, she's content to chat with him. It's a nice sense of familiarity even if neither of them are known for their conversational skills.]

Since we got to this system, I've been taking odd jobs here and there. Reminds me of old jaeger work.

Odd jobs like what, exactly? Is it anything like the assignments on the field studies we had?

[Or anything like what they've done that involves fighting to attempt to end a civil war as peacefully as possible?]

Mhm, some are. I've been taking more [risky] profitable jobs. Bodyguard, transport security, things like that. Different asteroids have different priorities.

[She takes a sip of her drink again.] Once you're off the Marsiva, I'd suggest you find some work, too. It's a good way to make some fast cash for a rainy day.

I'll look into it. I'm certain there's something that my skills would be useful for.

[Maybe. At the very least, he's definitely not afraid to get his hands dirty.]

[As she's well aware. Good job, field studies.]

There will be. I could always use another set of hands on some of my jobs if you're interested.

[They know how to work together damn well, and it'd be good for both of them.]

I suppose there's no harm in helping you should you need it.

[The way he says it sounds really condescending, but the fact that he's saying he'll help actually says a lot and he knows Fie will catch on to that.]

Nope. You'll even make money out of it.

[It's a win for both of them, really.] So far teaming up with strangers hasn't been bad, but it could be.

Give your implication that funds are necessary, that is indeed a bonus.

[Not that Jusis has a problem working for money. At all.]

So consider me your ally when you next need one. It does beat teaming up with a complete stranger.

[He likes Fie, and he doesn't want the chance of somehow teaming up with someone like Regnitz.]

I'll keep an eye out for things that'll suit you.

[She smiles a little, nodding.]

I met someone interesting out of it, but familiarity in those situations is welcomed.

Given the situation, I can only imagine that many interesting people have been brought here. Though interesting does not always mean trustworthy.

[Basically Jusis' way of saying he's pretty sure unless the situation absolutely calls for it, he won't be working with a stranger.

IE: a reenactment of class VII day one.]

Not always. But sometimes.

[Also echoing Class VII. Come on, Jusis.]

Naturally, not everyone is useless. There are bound to be a few that can be of aid. I suppose you will have to introduce them to me at some point.

[Hey, he trusts Fie's judgement on friends. He has no reason not to.]

I suppose I will. Also let me know if you manage to tolerate anyone.

[Because he's him.]

I suppose I could do that much.

[That and it's kind of special when he tolerates people.]
