[If anyone is wandering around the many decks of the RED FISH they will likely find the Chancellor gazing out into the stars. It had been over two months nearly since his arrival and Ardyn Izunia was pondering his fate aboard the ship. The new arrivals last month had caught his attention and now he was wondering about possible ways to contact the Atroma, or try to reason with them at least. Negotiation was something he was good at and he intended to use his skills to get his way out of this cold prison.]

Is this where the stars destined for me to end up? How could you be so cruel to a servant such as me? What have I done to deserve another stab of the blade thrust into my already broken heart?

[Don't mind him. Ardyn loves to spout off poetic verses and riddles. It's just how he speaks.]

Armoury:

[Weapons. Now these were something Ardyn was very interested in. There were no fancy swords aboard the ship but there were some guns. Automatic weapons it seemed. What if they were infused with Magitek? Ardyn wondered what it would be like to have the SS RED FISH equipped with Magitek technology. Surely, it would become the jewel in the fleet? He picked up one of the rifles and examined it.]

Hm, not bad. Yet, it lacks the decorum of a Magitek weapon. If I could infuse it with technology from back home, who knows what these weapons could be capable of?

[He mused to himself, placing the rifle down and moving to admire the space armour. The security crews got the upgraded versions, so he would be wearing one of the more basic armoured variety. Still, he wondered what it would be like with Magitek added. All the possibilities.]

Cargo Hold:

[Now, this was interesting; a gym aboard the ship. Who would have thought? Ardyn adjusted his fedora before taking it off and placing on a nearby bench. This would be a good place to hone his skills, surely? He closed his eyes and placed both hands out in front of him, materialising his sword. At least he could still do that. The Atroma hadn't completely taken away his dignity.

His eyes scanned the room before landing on the 50lb punch bag hanging from it's hook. Smiling to himself, he replaced his weapon with his fist, smashing the bag with a powerful blow, enough to send the bag reeling with the force. The man was dangerous when angered and now he felt like giving the bag a good thrashing. How dare the Atroma imprison him! He could take his frustrations out on the bag for now.]

How kind of you for giving me a whole gymnasium where I can wreak havoc to my heart's content. Yet, I wish it were you I was doing this to.

["You" being the Atroma. That's right. He's kind of pissed at you alien people.

His eyes focused on the feed network, as he faced the bag and sliced it with many shards of ice. His power of the elements was quite intimidating to those who were not used to magic. He smashed the bag, seeing all the icicles fall to the floor.]

[Do his eyes deceive him? Not only did this man have a nice hat, but he also seemed to have some ice ability. This is the sort of thing he's been looking for!]

That ice ability is pretty good. Can you do it again?

[Ardyn turned around after a particularly strong thrust of his right fist aimed towards the punch bag and noticed the young man with a hat very similar to his. What taste! The boy clearly knew how to dress. It seemed he also appreciated magic when he saw it.]

Ah, you appreciate the cold, cutting feel of ice? It does look pretty when glistening all over too.

It's more that I can appreciate a good ability when I see it.

[Chuuya nods, agreeing that it does look pretty.]

I've been hoping to find others with special abilities, but have been disappointed so far.

[As if he's one to talk, since he's not showing off his own ability. In his mind, however, this may change things.]

[Such a polite boy. Ardyn's smile broadened.]

Indeed. There are quite a few of us among the fleet who have powers of one sort or another. Mine are elemental based if you have already gathered. Ice, fire and lightning; such are the powers from my beloved Earth.

[He misses his beloved Earth too.]

Now, you're making me curious. What powers do you wield? You seem to be a man of taste too; your hat is a thing of beauty.

[Powers based on gathered elements is something he's finding interesting. That sounds different than what he's used to.]

Do you think I'll give away my powers just like that? What if we ever become opponents?

[He's got to mess with Ardyn a little. While Chuuya may be new, he's not so sure if battling is a regular occurrence. The thought of having opponents was still fun, though.]

Besides, it's way more fun to demonstrate than it is to explain it.

[He tips his hat in gratitude!]

[The younger man was rather like Ardyn, it was actually rather coincidental. The way he held himself and the way he liked to tease.]

Perhaps we will? Perhaps we won't? Who is to tell what might happen aboard our ships. The intrigue is tantalising.

[If there was a man that could tease it would be Ardyn. He liked to dangle information like a worm on a fishing rod, ready to snatch it away at a moment's notice, hence why he often spoke in riddles.]

I agree! The fun is in the doing, rather than the saying.

Let's fight someday... As long as it isn't on Meston. It's honestly the worst asteroid.

I'd love to. Testing our abilities out will surely help us keep nimble and alert, instead of rusting away aboard these ships. Meston? I can't say I've heard of it. What's it like?

[He offered the younger man a pleasant smile over the network. Perhaps they could become friends somehow?]

[Chuuya nods, along with dramatic hand gestures as he goes on to introduce himself.]

Chuuya Nakahara, what a lovely complex name.

[He liked people with complex names since he believed it made them even more mysterious. If anyone was mysterious, it would be him.]

When did your love of the fedora come into fruition?

[A question like this was unusual. Usually when asked about his hats, it was because others find his hats embarrassing and something to tease, making this version of the question one he legitimately likes.]

Someone showed me what dressing well was growing up, and hats were part of it. Needless to say it was a lesson very well learned.

[He won't mention that he also likes how hats add just a tad more in height too, since he is pretty short.]

Then, whoever it was who showed you was clearly a man of tastes.

[Because who didn't love a good fedora? They were classy and kept the hot sun out of one's eyes, especially if they were a little too sensitive to it. Being part daemon, Ardyn favoured his hat wherever he went.]

May I ask what your occupation was before being brought here?

A woman, actually.

[Chuuya grins.

Others asking about his occupation was his new favorite game. Just because he's not mafia here didn't mean he would tell all about his mafia background, was his way of thinking. Or perhaps it was just a habit that was hard to break, since it's not like mafia flaunted being mafia back home either.]

Oh! I was in security. It was pretty fun, especially when others didn't expect it because of my appearance.

[At least that's the truth, since being small and pretty makes others think you're harmless.]

Forgive me. Ah, a fair maiden with some exquisite fashion tastes in hats. Your world sounds a wonderful place.

[Because he finds that awesome that a girl could teach a boy fashion techniques.]

[Ardyn knew of soldiers who were guards. Usually, you had to become a soldier to become a guard of sorts, since it was quite a dangerous job.]

[Considering his wealth and position in life (even if it was mafia), he would have to agree.]

Yeah, a guard! And yes, my world had it's fair share of problems, but I can't complain - I was able to live comfortably.

May I ask what you were guarding? A building or people inside a building perhaps?

Even when your job is to ensure no one trespasses, whether it's a business or special event, it's to protect the people involved. Sometimes it was to protect those within my organization as well.

I know what you mean, my boy. People all the time. I deal with them on an everyday basis too, with my job inside the Empire. Negotiation is all about knowing what the other side is going to say.

[He's usually good at finding that out anyway.]
