[ Well the ship could only stay empty but for her captain for so long. And I'm sure the audience is just DYING to know what happens when these older folks show up and find their ship is captained by a 17-year-old with an attitude problem.

[ oh thank god. this is so much easier for her, even with the augment in her head that tells her how to use the garbage in the medical bay.

she nods once he gives the go ahead, grabs a hold of his hand with both of her own and presses her fingers to the wound, gently. after a brief pause, the lines around her fingers begin to glow brightly; wisps of color emanating from the tips and into his skin.

the wound begins to close, and joel will likely feel a rush of warmth through his palm and along his arm. ]

just kidding, she'll tell him in a second. once she's certain the wound is well on its way to closing and he isn't bleeding anymore. she reaches for a cloth, wets it, and works on wiping the dried blood from his hand now. ]

In the simplest terms: I am passing a small amount of my energy into your body, as to allow it to heal itself the same way mine does naturally.

It is. [ it's said so casually, like she doesn't even realize what she's saying. but she absolutely does. ] 'Tis only a minimal amount for a wound of this caliber, though.

[ she looks up, head cocked to the side in confusion. ] I beg your pardon?

If you're usin' part of yourself to heal people's wounds, you shouldn't waste that on things like cuts. We've got other stuff to patch up with. I break an arm, you spend your energy fixin' it, and then Tay comes in bleedin' out and beat to hell. What happens if you can't help her enough because you spent too much on somethin' that didn't need it?

My magic regenerates quickly enough for such small wounds. It is of little consequence. [ it is years of practice and patience that allows lioriley to continue smiling even as he gives her the hypothetical scenario. ]

Should that happen, I would expend what was necessary to assist you both. If left lethargic for a bit because of it, then that is a risk I am willing to take for your safety and well being.

Then I'll patch myself up from now on.

[ okay NOW she's frowning. ] The medical supplies here do little else but conceal any wounds you may sustain. You are hardly risking my life if you allow me to help you with my magic instead. [ and you're saving yourself the trouble honestly. ]

It worked well enough now, did it not? And I am fine.

They're not supposed to heal you instantly. They're supposed to make it hurt less and help you heal naturally faster.

And you would prefer that, when you have been given the option to be relieved of the pain as soon as possible?

I'm used to it.

Forgive me for being so blunt, but I do not believe that is truly an acceptable answer; given what we are speaking of.
