[ The feed starts out with Hermione sitting on her bed, looking absolutely miserable. It's obvious that she hasn't slept, not really, and when she speaks her voice is quiet and, more than anything, sad. ]

Cisco isn't here anymore. [ She's lost people before, but she never gets used to it. It's never fair, and it's not right. It's not right that you get to be this close to people and then they get taken away from you. ] I don't think he's the only one that's gone this time, but it's - I don't think it's my place to talk about anyone else.

[ She's doing this because Cisco was her partner, after all. Her boyfriend. She'd been so happy.

I'm not sure what's left in his lab, but - I didn't want to touch anything. I'm sorry for anyone that knew him, but... He's probably happier at home, so it's okay in the end.

[ The feed cuts off, abruptly, because she didn't want to think about it anymore - it was easier to just turn it off and put the device to one side and pretend for a little while. ]

[ She doesn't take long to get into a shuttle and make her way to the Vanquish, Dog the first to come bounding off once they land. Honestly she needs to walk him more, or take him places that aren't the Tourist. His first instinct is to explore this seemingly new place and Hawke just lets him, crossing the space to sit by Hermione as he does. ]

[ That, she thinks, is one mangy looking cat. ]

[ It's easy to pop Crookshanks down on the ground as soon as Dog and Hawke appear, but he slinks off to the side at the very idea of having to interact with another animal. Hermione can't do much more than shake her head, leaning down to greet Dog as she goes, scratching behind his ears. ]

Hello, handsome. And hello to you, Hawke.

[ He accepts the scratches with utmost eagerness leaning up into the motion stubby tail wagging, the image brings a smile to Hawke's face as she shifts slightly to lean back. ]

Honestly Dog, you love attention about as much as you love food. [ She shakes her head a little. ] Especially attention from Hermione.

[ All Hermione can do is lean close, wrapping her arms around the dog and making a soft, pleased noise. ]

Can you blame him? He's so gorgeous! He deserves all the attention, doesn't he?

[ It makes Hawke laugh as she watches mabari war hound practically beam under the attention, he barks short in response headbutting the young witch. ]

Absolutely. [ With a fond smile she shifts close enough to wrap her arms around both Hermione and Dog. ] You both do.

[ Man, that was pretty sappy wasn't it? ]

[ At least someone is happy to see her, and Hermione gives Dog as much attention as she can manage before she's glancing up at Hawke, almost a little pink. ]

You don't have to flatter me to cheer me up, you know.

[ But... She leans into the hug all the same. ]
