[The salt of the sea no longer fills her nostrils; she cannot hear the waves and she senses that she is not amongst her fellows or onboard a ship any longer. Panic would be an acceptable first emotion and with how the young Queen jerks up from her bed, she clearly considers it.

But a Dragon does not show her weakness. Rubbing absently at her neck, clad in black, Daenerys familiarizes herself with her surroundings and, eventually, her communication's device.

After watching others making use of it, she learns quickly, violet eyes sharp and intent on the task. What magic is this?]

I commend you for your audacity. If you think I am weaker cut off from my allies and my children, you are sadly mistaken.

[Now onto negotiations. She settles herself, expression calm, adapting to her new, strange circumstances.]

What do you want? Gold? Power? Ships? [She is not parting from either option, of course, but any hint about her captor(s) is useful.

[Wow. That's quite the introduction, and he has to admit he made a scene himself on his arrival. It's been awhile though.]

I'm sorry to disappoint, my lady, but I'm not sure any of that appeals to them. Atroma only cares about us entertaining their viewers.

I am a Queen; not an...entertainer. [She says the word as if it is the lowest profession possible - and maybe it is for her. Plays can be (and are) used for propaganda in her world.]

How can the Atroma be contacted directly?

And I'm a mage. Unfortunately, everyone is an entertainer now, I suppose it makes it more real when we're not trained to perform. [He feels bad for any bards she meets.]

I'm afraid they can't be contacted though. I haven't heard anything about them contacting us since I arrived, nearly a year ago.

A wizard? [Oh good; she has the best experience with them!] I take it they can goad us into it if we refuse? I cannot imagine how they would inspire me.

[A year. Real anger flares in her eyes now.]

They must be hiding somewhere on one of these ships.

More of less, I prefer mage. Wizard can cover several schools of magic. [Khadgar turns and lightly taps near his augment.] They implant us with these. I'm not entirely sure of the consequences but we can't leave and we can't remove them.

[Oh, Daenerys...]

They're most likely on the Marsiva, where you are now. Except not everywhere is accessible on that ship.

Magic is not my favorite...art. [Illusions, trickery, things that can grab onto the heart and refuse to let it go... She prefers to live in the here and now.] No one has tried to remove them? What are the consequences?

[She thinks she knows where hers is and if she is very careful with a knife...]

I imagine a lot of people feel that way but I was born a mage, hard to change that. [Six year old Khadgar, using magic to steal cookies before supper.]

I'm sorry, I haven't found out what they are yet. I'm sure we can ask some of the older members of the Fleet if they've seen or experienced the consequences.

I had a bad experience with wizards. I will not hold that incident against you. [She does her best to be fair and balanced.]

If the consequence is death, I should like to know. [Or some sort of disfiguring harm. The small surgery will have to wait unless she is forced into extreme desperation.]

Don't worry, I like to think I'm a good mage. I use my skills to help and protect people so unless you're trying to hurt someone I care about or someone on my ship, we should be fine. [He's likely even to protect her.]

I don't blame you. [At all. He can sympathize, in fact. He'd much rather be home, defending his world.] And I can understand that but it might happen. We've already had a couple incidents since I've been here. Just so you're prepared.

If you need, I know a couple people who are opening a forge on the Iskaulit, if you've ever used a sword, I'm sure they'll make you one.

[A little smile.] I even call my queen Lady Taria but if you prefer 'Queen' then I'll oblige.

Incidents regarding your magic? [Well that doesn't sound good.] I have never used a blade, but I can understand the benefit of having one.

I have held a Dothraki Arakh - a sort of curved sword - before and I know how their warriors move when in combat. I can learn.
