[Tyrion's face appears on the screen, scarred and faintly bemused, as he peers at the feed, then shifts something off to the side. Some sort of computing device. He shifts it again, and the screen changes, narrows, with a small bit of scripts running along the top. He sighs, shakes his head a little.]

I need someone who has the communications augment. This ... this is not secure enough. It is secure, but not secure absolutely. Which is what we require.

[He grumbles, and goes back to fiddling with wires.]

No, no they do not. [He sighed, before looking up at her, a faint smirk on his face.]

Why should I not be surprised you have the bravery that I lack?

It probably helps that I wasn't into her. Which I assume you, Winn, and her all appreciate. And I'm awesome.

We all do immensely. All things considered. [He smirked faintly.] And you are, indeed, quite awesome.

I'm glad you've noticed. [She kisses the top of his head.] Are you going to reach out to her?

Of course I will. Once I confirm that it really is her.

[He had been fooled before. He hugged Kitty a little tighter than usual.]

It looked like she was on the Marsiva. That's harder to fake if you're already busy being a shapeshifter.

[Tight hugs are good. Whatever he needs and she's not exactly turning them down lately herself.]

Harder. Not impossible.

[He wants to believe. That's the foolish part of it all. He hugs her tighter, for both of them.]

I would be this through if it was Winn, you know.

Good. Someone should be. I'd be trying to get Khadgar and Kurt to teleport me to the Marsiva which would almost definitely not work and end up getting all of us hurt.

But also...there is such a thing as too much suspicion.

More than likely. Of course most of the things I am doing now will end up getting me hurt - so - perhaps I am not the best judge of how one should react when one is traumatized.

[He snorts softly.] No, no there is not.

What are you doing that's so dangerous? [Concerned.]

[He gestured to the encryption engine, with a faint smirk.]

I am fairly certain this is not working, and I am even more certain that it is going to backfire on me personally. However ... I have to try.

How would it backfire? Are you worried about the Atroma taking action against you?

Worried, no. Positive that they will? Absolutely.

[His mismatched eyes narrow and a thin, hard smile appears.]

To which I shall have to say - made you blink.

[It's the attitude that worries her more than the threat. She's not so sure the Atroma would attack them directly. Mess with the augment maybe. Distract someone with a coma or a week of being a child, but she doesn't expect that canon to get turned on the fleet directly. At worst, maybe they'd steer them into some well-produced trouble.]

Is that what you want? To get hurt?

No. Trust me, I do not want to get hurt.

[Far from it. However, it would be proof that what they were doing was starting to get to the Atroma. It would be a crack in the proverbial armor.]

However, I do want to test my limits.

[The mission comes first. It does. It always has. It's her training, but...]

I don't want to lose anyone else. [She knows she will. Of course she will. There are already so many people she misses beyond just Winn. She lost a lot of people over the years and over the last few weeks. And it could happen to Tyrion and anyone else any time it wants. But she still doesn't want it.]

[He looks up at her, before wrapping his arms a little more firmly around her and pressing his chin down into her stomach, giving her a lopsided smile.]

They won't take me away. Just ... muck about with my head. I can handle that. What I cannot handle is feeling utterly helpless against my captors.

I know. I know. [The helplessness is the most intolerable. She gets it. But the loss is pretty overwhelming too.] Just...do it well.

[A warm smile, before he leaned back to squeeze her tightly.]

Do I ever do it anyway else?

No, I don't suppose you do. Just don't get sloppy about it now.

[Her hand brushes through his hair.] What can I do for you with all of this?

I promise, I will not get sloppy. Not for a moment.

[He sighed, leaning into that touch.] I cannot afford to.

What are you worried about? I mean I know it's more than one thing but in order of importance?

The Atroma blowing us all up without any way for us to protect ourselves. Not being able to protect ourselves because they know all of our plans ahead of time.

Seems like good things to worry about. Very life and death. I don't think they'd blow us up when they have more efficient means of control, but it would probably be interesting for ratings if they did.

You're not alone in this. Whatever this is.

Do you think they would go up, or down? We are pretty popular, you know.

[A pause, before he gave her another tight embrace.] I know. Thank you.
