[Tyrion's face appears on the screen, scarred and faintly bemused, as he peers at the feed, then shifts something off to the side. Some sort of computing device. He shifts it again, and the screen changes, narrows, with a small bit of scripts running along the top. He sighs, shakes his head a little.]

I need someone who has the communications augment. This ... this is not secure enough. It is secure, but not secure absolutely. Which is what we require.

[He grumbles, and goes back to fiddling with wires.]

[It takes him a minute - he didn't ask exactly where, but the ship isn't that big, and there's only so many spaces someone could be working in.]

[He is still prodding the machine he's built, and interfaced, with one of the simple computers they have, while running encryption protocols. It is a variation on a signal jammer. except made with all the spare parts that Tyrion could beg, borrow and steal from other worlds.]

I wish for us to have the ability to have private conversations that the Atroma cannot hear or eavesdrop on.

That does sound like something I'd be interested in having as well. [He looks it over, assessing the parts he can recognize, with help from his augment.] ...I can certainly help you boost the encryption. How portable is it?

Very. I made it small so I could carry it up to the flight deck when it was ready so we could use it for the ship itself. Where are you?

I'm here. [He shuts the video feed off when he gets into the room, and comes over to inspect the equipment more closely.]

...So this one is meant to hook into the ship's comms. That's...ambitious. [And maybe foolhardy, but foolhardy is better than sitting still afraid of what might happen. He's been working on something himself, but it's best not to talk about it too openly yet.]

Do you have a plan for testing it? Until it's proven secure, it's a risk to actually transmit anything sensitive...

I was planning on doing some very embarrassing videos, and seeing if they reacted. That or speaking directly in the audience a way they could not ignore. [He gestured.] If it got to them and not to the Atroma -- well.
