Who: Rick Grimes & You.
Broadcast: Fleetwide.
Action: On the special part of the ship for the Calibrations.
When: Until his ship placement.
[ Ever since Negan entered into his life, things were all turned upside down and nothing made any sort of sense. But his current predicament took things to a whole new level and he really didn't know what plan of action to use first. He needed a direction to go in but for any to work he first needed information. The strange communication device and the broadcast capabilities seemed his best chance at the moment.
Letting out a deep sigh, he sat down and readied himself, attempting to appear not as frantic or angry by his current situation. In the very least, the scent of blood had faded but the chill lingered as if it seeped too deeply down inside of him. Would the screams ever leave when he happened to fall asleep?
In space. Why would he ever believe in such a thing? It just couldn't be possible. ]
I've had my fill of this and I need to return to my daughter with my people. Things are - the rest of the group needs me. [ A deep sigh passed his slightly cracked lips. ] What is this place? Where am I now? There isn't any information here.
[ Sitting up straighter, he tilted his head to the side. ] What are the demands? The terms of this? [ A negotiation always existed for things and Rick had a lot of experience making them. ]
( action. )
[ Later on, he can be found trying to comb every inch of the place for clues and information. In general, making a complete mess of things. ]

action;
The losses were too numerous to count and the group couldn't endure another and keep the will to keep fighting.
They never stopped fighting. One battle after another with very little rest in between and the strain of it tore at Rick's entire sense of self but he pushed it all down to keep moving forward. ]
Our minds reach sometimes to fill in things. [ He tilted his head to the side as he thought about the possibilities. ] Or maybe they've got a way to project things. Make it all seem real. [ A tie in to the augments, which he wanted gone at once. The fragility of the brain should not be messed with. ]
[ His eyes swept the area, casing it. ] We look for clues outside of the rooms. Talk to people who look like they might know somethin'. [ People often held more information than they believed, often the tinier details exposed far more than the glaringly obvious. ]
action;
But she's working on doing better. Fighting her instincts towards flight. That's why she tries to understand what she is feeling. It's why she hangs on to what Rick is saying, fitting his words to pieces she's not getting on her own.]
You think everything I saw was a trick, too. All of it? [If that was true, it was scary they could do that to them. In her mind she knew someone had to be cruel to want to do that to them.] I saw some things that were pretty convincing... Like they know enough about our lives to make stuff up about it.
[She would be clueless on what on her next move was going to be if he didn't just feed her it. She follows his gaze down the hallway ever so slightly.] Together. [A statement that is more a question.]
action;
Either the augment device is triggerin' things or we're seein' things we aren't supposed to see. [ As in hallucinations, which worried Rick far more because of past experiences. ] What did ya see? [ It might help narrow down the options if he knew what spooked her so badly. ]
[ He nodded his head with a tiny smile. ] Yes, together. First we need supplies. [ Righting himself, he held out a hand to help her up. ] We need paper, somethin' to write with, tape or somethin'. [ Writing it all out helped as a coping mechanism as well. ]
action;
A girl... coming outside of a barn. [That was just the first one she saw.] Others. There were more rooms than just one. But that's what I saw in the first one. Carl's name was on the door.
[She needed a minute to push the memory out of her head before accepting his hand to help her up. Then about a fraction of a second more to think where there might be supplies. She hadn't woken with a lot on her being. Only a small blanket, which she was sitting on moments before.]
Paper, tape. Why? [It sounds like he wants to makes signs which to her felt like just as bad of an idea as it was good.]
no subject
The shouting and hotly tossed around accusations.
The fear over what could happen if the walkers broke free.
He remembered.
None of it compared, though, to the sight of Sophia hobbling from the barn, hands outstretched and just waiting to rip into each one of them for failing her. He should have tried harder to find her or planned better to not put any of them in the circumstance to begin with.
She ran because of fear.
Since then, none of them had stopped running in their own ways. Some more eternally and others in a more internal way. For Rick, he suppressed things as best as he could to try and continue on and do the best for his people.
He couldn't fail them again.
But how would Enid KNOW of the memory? She hadn't found them yet and wouldn't even know of Sophia unless Carl shared it with her. Looking to the side for a moment, he nodded his head slowly. ]
Don't know how you know 'bout that. It was -- one of the worst times for us. [ There were so many terrible times and the experiences needed to stay buried. ] The supplies are to build an evidence board. We make a column for what we know, column for what we need to figure out and a column for speculation.
no subject
I, I-- Sorry. I don't know how I seen it. Carl was there and he was acting strangely. [But she could understand why memories like that were better off buried away. Because of that she didn't ask more about it.] You sound like you done it before. Putting evidence together, I mean. But it sounds like a good idea.
no subject
We'll figure out what's goin' on. [ He tried to give her a reassuring smile, nodding his head a few moments later. ] Did it plenty with my time as a Sheriff's Deputy. If things are out there before ya, it makes it easier to figure it out. You can get it all out of your head and onto a board in front of ya. We just gotta find the supplies for it.
no subject
I seen some books down that way. [She offers, after seeing his reassuring smile. She raises her arm to point to where she saw them even. But doesn't feel like smiling back just yet.] I never knew. That explains why lead everyone you brought to Alexandria. [Yes, she sounds a little impressed. If not that, then more willing to trust him. A guy, even as seemly unstable as him, seems to mean well.
But back to business.] We can rip the blank pages from the books.
no subject
Haven't felt like an officer in some time. Feels kinda nice to be back on a job. [ It gave him a purpose in the very least and some sort of direction to go in. ] Let's go get things and find somewhere to put it all before anyone notices us millin' 'bout.
[ Looking both ways, he eased himself down the corridor, keeping a close eye on Enid the entire time. ]
no subject
Okay. I haven't seen anyone but you out here yet. [Of course she knows she may be speaking too soon yet.
In any case, she's not standing there to be left behind. She follows just short of being at his side and being too far behind.]
no subject
Arriving at the area, Rick went in first to check things over before he motioned for Enid to follow.
Grabbing for the books he started ripping out the blank pages. ]
We gotta hope no one comes lookin'.
no subject
Enid is fine letting him check first, but not fine with standing back too far. She only waits a second or two before following slowly in. Helping with the books when she reaches them.]
And what about Carl, Maggie, and Daryl? Do we look for them after? [With the pages she rips out from the books, she starts to make a pile with them on one of the shelves.]
no subject
Looking over at Enid, he nodded his head quickly. ]
Yeah, we need to find them and bring 'em here. We can all share what we know and create a better picture. [ Plus, they needed to make sure they were all safe for now. ]
no subject
When do we do that? [She saw he was the man with the plan, after all. Mostly because she was curious how much paper was enough and concerned about her new unaccounted family members.]
no subject
We can right now, if ya want. [ He saw the worry on her as clear as day and knew they needed to bring in the rest of their family to the plans. ]
no subject
Enid waits until he gathers all the paper before she nods. A simple affirmation that she wants to go find them.]
no subject
When's the last time you saw them?
no subject
She gingerly turns her attention back to Rick at his question. It was not a question she had the best answer to.]
In person? It was when we were home. [A breath out] But Carl was in that room. The one with his name on it. [The reminder of her haven't actually seen them and not knowing where they were now visibly wears on her outer expression more.]
no subject
By what Enid expressed, they displayed memories or something of the sort. Like a film projection, maybe? Emotional manipulation lingered far long than anything physical. ]
We'll find 'em, Enid. We always find each other. [ No matter what horrors were thrown their way, they always managed to fall back in line with one another. ]
Do ya think Carl is still in there?
no subject
That's not always true. [She answers in a smaller voice. She didn't want to be a downer but the memories she saw and the uncertain reality of this place let plenty to strike down the hope in her. She amends quickly enough with a nod.] But I hope we do.
[And gives another nod for his question.] He didn't want to leave.
no subject
We've lost people. Good people. But those of us who remain, we always find a way to come together somehow. We've beat impossible odds before. [ He tried to give a tiny smile. ] We'll beat 'em again.
[ Carl being trapped in some room bothered him more than anything else so far. ] Did he look like a hostage there?
no subject
Even though she is still following behind him, she makes a note of the names going in reverse alphabetical order and she gestures to where the door is when they get closer. Before that, she answers him with the shake of her head.]
It didn't seem that way. But he didn't seem like himself...
no subject
Carl Grimes.
It haunted him already and he hadn't even turned the knob to step inside. Looking over at Enid, he tried to decide if leaving her behind would be a good idea or not. Would she be safer outside of the room or in it? ]
I've got to go in there, Enid. Will ya be okay out here?
no subject
Then she takes a step back. Two. Three. She's shown him where it is and now she's keeping her distance.]
I'll be okay... Just be careful.
[She will happily, less than happily wait.]
no subject
Ready as he'll ever be, Rick turned the doorknob and stepped inside. ]
