Takeshi will address the crew promptly when they return to the ship — it's up to him as captain to make sure everyone knows what's going on, right? So with a subdued tone, he says over the loudspeakers: "Captain, um, Takeshi here. Miss Opal and Miss Maggie have gone home... I know we're gonna miss them a lot, but let's hope they've got really nice people to go home to... Friends and families and things they had to do. Umm... Take care of each other, and remember that some of us don't seem t'stay still for long, so be nice and remind them how much you care 'bout them, just in case, okay...?"

A pause.

"They wouldn't want us to stay too sad, so... keep your chins up and let's do good things moving forward, so they'll be real proud of us."

[He grins happily at Hoi Hoi; meanwhile, the panda has finally started wandering over to Aizawa; he's a small thing, not quite a full-fledged baby, but not allowed to grow much bigger thanks to the Atroma's blocking. The little critter makes it over to him, clamps onto his leg, and makes a whining little love me noise.]

That's Hoi Hoi. He's one of my best friends.

We've done a lot together, even before I was on the Marsiva.

He's from your home? [a panda? maybe it's like that pet situation jayden had mentioned with her ghost?

aizawa rubs a hand through the panda's fur. he's never seen one up close like this but it seems fairly small.]

[throwsdown]

[Takeshi gives a little nod, as Hoi Hoi clamps onto Aizawa's hand and tries to roll around with his hand in his paws; it's rather ineffective, and entirely for fun. The little thing looks so pleased to have captured him.]

He used to be normal sized, yeah. I used to ride on his back, and when I was on another ship called the Tranquility, he was there with me... He got killed when the ship was messed up, so I didn't think I'd get to see him again...

[kinda roughhouses with him a little bit. actually this is like having a really solid cat, sorta...] So those stories about people coming back from death here have some truth to them.

[throwsdown]

[He gives a nod.]

I guess so...! People couldn't come back on the last ship I was on, before the fleet.

But people came back to life a lot at home. In Japan. Gantz brought people back a lot so they could fight.

[expellerhead]

Gantz is where you got that suit? [gestures to takeshi's neck, where the suit is peeking out from under is shirt]

[throwsdown]

[He nods.]

Yessir! It protects my team from getting real hurt.

And it makes me stronger. And faster!

[expellerhead]

Right. Saw that. [it would've been more disturbing if one of his students didn't break his own bones on the regular.] You live a pretty atypical life back home.

[throwsdown]

[Takeshi smiles a little, apparently humored.]

Atypical means really weird, right?

[expellerhead]

Definitely, in this case. [He'd slap a few more objectives onto there if he was describing it to someone else, but sure, 'weird' works.]

Last question. You were talking to Uraraka Ochako a while back about classes, weren't you:?

... Oh! Yeah!

I wanted to try to go to school some more. I only went a little on the Tranquility, but they helped me learn to read and write kinda okay.

[expellerhead]

Uraraka is already my student, so I've been teaching her since I arrived.
