[Meet Aang, as the tattooed young monk suddenly wakes up in the infirmary bed with a shock.

He jumps to his feet and begins pacing the area while being both highly anxious and slightly dazed.]

Wait! What just happened... Did I really beat the fire lord, or- or was that just a dream?!

Where is everyone...

[Then he pauses as he sees out a window into all of outer space; the monk gasps.]

Oh no...! Where did the world go?!

[At least he still has his pants.]

[ omfg... okay, everyone is just appearing at once, apparently, and katara ain't even mad. ]

Aang! Hey, it's alright, everything's okay.

[What is even happening? Is he having some massive hallucinogenic dream, or has Atroma actually decided not to be a douche to him for once?]

Thaaat's what I'm trying to find out. Where our world is, anyway.

[Ugh, he's missed you, you veggie eating weirdo. ]

It's ok, though. It's safe.

[Now that's a familiar voice. And one that helps to take the edge off. He quickly turns towards the video screen.]

Katara?! What's going on...? [He still sounds a little anxious, but some of his worst fears are set aside seeing that Katara seems to be alright.]

Sokka! [He brightens up a bit to see him. And now he'll poke at the screen some more.]

It is...? What happened? Why are we in space?

[Dude, you're gonna get fingermarks all over it. ]

Basically? We got kidnapped by people who want to use us for entertainment. I've been here six months already.

[He stops quickly enough; it feels like he knows more about working this thing than he would have thought that he should.]

Kidnapped? Wait, six months? But... I just saw you, Sokka! We all stopped the fire lord!

That was real, right?

It's... complicated.

[ all of this is complicated, and she isn't really sure she knows where to begin explaining it. ]

You're not hurt or anything, are you?

Nope... [He rubs at his head as he tries to remember.]

Actually, I feel fine. Even though I'm pretty sure I just fought the fire lord...

[He shrugs uncertainly.]

Maybe it was a good night's sleep?

Time works really weird, here. The last thing I remember was being on the warship in the battle.

So for you and Katara, sure, that was real. For me? Not so much, yet.

...Almost, though?

If you were on the warship, then you must've been near the end...

So you're saying that you're from the past, but for six months?

[And he thought being stuck in an iceberg for 100 years was confusing enough...]

Yeah. Or uh. Here for six months. Time stops back home, apparently? I don't know, Aang, I work in hard science, you know I don't get this mumbo jumbo stuff.

[He HATES not getting it. He's fighting it as best he can, but he's still fighting an enemy he barely understands. ]

I'm trying to get us home. Been looking for maps, star charts, anything that can clue me in on getting back.

[He's been SO BUSY. ]

Okay, okay... [He makes some calming motions as he tries to make sense of it.]

So, time's weird. I guess that's that!

Is it really that complicated to find where we're from... Why don't you just ask someone for directions?

Because no one knows where we are. Whenever we get to planets, no one knows the way back to our planet. We could be millions and millions of lightyears away. We'd have to find a way to program our ships to get us there, and it'd take a long time. If we get the co-ordinates at all, and-

[Wait, Aang won't get all this. He's still new and chances are he doesn't have the engineering augment like Sokka. ]

...It's just going to be really hard, but I'm still working on it. I just need a little time and a lot of luck.

[He does not indeed have that augment, so it sounds a lot like mumbo jumbo to him. But it definitely sounds like it's stressing Sokka... so he tries to respond calmly.]

It's okay, Sokka. Just take your time and I'm sure we'll get lucky! If we got all the way out here somehow, then there's gotta be a way back, too. I'm sure of it!

Exactly! They needed some way to capture us.

I just need to figure out how.

[Always the plan guy, he has plans within plans, here. ]

Hmmm... [He sits down as he starts seriously pondering question.]

So how did they get us... Ooh! What if they used, like... some kind of big fishing net to scoop us all up, like fish!

[Lots of kids recently. Axel wonders if it's a pattern. It doesn't seem entirely fair to disrupt kids' lives like this. Everybody's got stuff to do back home, sure, but something like this could screw a kid up for life! Well, maybe he can at least say something nice.

[He gestures at his head.]

Nice ink.

Don't worry, your world is still there, somewhere. [Or so they say.] Think of this as an extended vacation.

It was all a dream. You imagined the whooole thing.

[She's bored and there are new people showing up. This is her specialty.]

[Aang manages to answer with an innocent smile, first patting at the tattoo on his forehead.]

A vacation, huh... Well I guess that we could use a vacation after what we just went through! But, um, I don't think this would be my first pick for one.

Wh-what, really?! What do you mean, the whole thing?!

Yeah, totally. You're actually a goblin named Harold. Welcome back, kid. The experiment was a success.

I-

Yeah. No. I'm guessing more... telportation? Something like that.

[Axel gives a slightly bitter chuckle.]

Yeah, outer space with a bunch of strangers isn't exactly my dream getaway either, but I'm not gonna look a gift moogle in the mouth. It's better than what I had going for me back home, anyway.

[ Oh, hey. Look. This kid is about Sonata's age. She wonders if she should go find him, but decides against it after a minute. ]

Hey! It's okay, you're alright.

Yep! [He puts on a calm smile. He doesn't know this girl, but he doesn't want to worry her.] I feel perfectly fine!

[He winds up one arm, as if that's definitive proof of how alright he is.] How about you?
