+1 tiny invisible child
Who: Mikleo, OTA
Broadcast: Fleetwide
Action: Huntress, Iskaulit
When: Now-ish!
( video; )
[The communicator comes on with a shaking motion, revealing a captain-sized bedroom decorated with various nerdery; those who've been there will recognize it as Mikleo's. That fact is fully cemented when the camera zeros in on Sorey, asleep on the bed with the sheets half-kicked. The communicator is juggled around, then back again, zooming in and out as if being played with by someone who doesn't know what they're doing. It's quiet for a long moment until at last a voice speaks up- young, maybe six or seven, sounding incredulous and very confused.]
How long... did I sleep...
[Sorey stirs then, and the voice yelps quietly and rolls off the bed, communicator turning off in the process.]
( action; huntress )
[There's a little boy wandering cautiously through the halls, poking into rooms if the door is unlocked, gawking at just about everything he sees. He'll be initially shy around strangers, especially any non-seraph and extra especially around humans, but he's a curious sort, so expect to be grilled for information once you prove to be harmless.]
( action; iskaulit )
[At some point he'll make his way over to the other ship, courtesy of one of his shipmates, and that's when the exploring really begins. He'll get into everything he possibly can in this place- every open and available room, every nook and cranny, even the accessible vents, here and there. He's in the library (oh, the library), the garden, the interfaith center, his water room. He's clearly not afraid to poke around unknown places, either.
Just like on the Huntress, the presence of others will make him wary, and humans (or those who carry some malevolence) will get double-caution out of him, but curiosity won't kill this cat. That's the idea, anyway.
Sorey's probably nearby, being the hovery-protective sort that he is, but that's mostly so any malevolence doesn't cause a problem. Mikleo's no longer protected through the sub lord pact, after all.
He may also be accompanied by a baby pengyon, toddling along behind him. Just because.]
((ooc: so yeah mikleo's de-aged for a while, thanks to an augment glitch! he's invisible on camera and his permissions for seeing him in person are here! by now he should be visible to his whole crew. ))

[And if this guy can see him, that means he has resonance. Gramps says that Sorey has resonance because he's a pure soul. That means he's safe, right? Right. So it's okay to tell him.]
But I don't think I'm strong enough yet... I can't help your tree.
[He just really wants to.]

[ Maglor nods ]
That's alright. Well, maybe you could help me with a filter, then? I can try and sing the impurities out, and you can tell me what they are - it's easier if I know what I'm calling to!
no subject
[What the heck does that mean.]
Are you a Shepherd?
no subject
Only a bard! But I can see if I know enough of the songs of water to separate out the parts that should be there from the parts that are not - tis not my strength, in truth! I do not even know if it could be done, but... I deem it worth a try.

[Music to purify sounds pretty cool, actually. Even if it doesn't work it'd make for a good story to tell Sorey.]

[ Maglor warns ]
In my own world, I'm fairly sure I could pull this off, but this is not Middle-earth but space, and I don't know how well things would work, here. But there - let me fill a bucket, and we can give it a try.

[Mikleo climbs back to his feet, with the obvious intent to follow him. If he was older, he could fill it himself, but alas.]
no subject
Alright - let's see if this will work, eh? Can you tell what the impurities are?
no subject
I got as much as I could... I think.

[ Maglor's eyes are defocused, for he was listening to Mikleo work ]
Let's see if we can replicate this now, eh?
[ He brings his own hands to cup Mikleo's, singing softly, calling to the materials he guesses are there, the songs that Mikleo followed to scoop up what he did, the bits of metal and rust, the iron and the strange tang of chemicals he doesn't know but can hear. It is command and coaxing both, and he dips his hand into the water to act as a loadstone.
He can't do it long, sinking back in tiredness after a while, hand coated in ... well, mostly rust ]
There, that is all I can manage, I think.

He checks the water and sure enough, it's clean, so he releases it back into the bucket and grabs Maglor's hand to stare at what they'd pulled out.]
Whoa... how did you do that? What's a bard?
no subject
I called to them - I was listening to what you were looking for, and I tried to call them out. I wasn't sure that would work, in honesty.
And well, a bard is many things, but we are musicians, recorders of history, those who remember and retell the tales of joy and victory, sorrow and defeat, so that those around us can relieve them. We are poets and composers, and singers. But where I am from, Music is the foundation of the world, and so as musicians, we can affect it, also, so we are Artists, of the highest order, I suppose you could say. Other people might call it Magic.

[Mikleo gives Maglor's hand a little tug to urge him down properly. He may not be able to heal or purify properly, but he can at least move his own element. Or tip over a bucket.]
no subject
This world's songs are hard to coax, and I'd never tried that before. Thank you Mikleo, I'm sure the tree would love it if you watered it. I rather think she likes you, anyway - you're the first person to realise that she needed cleaner water!

[Besides the Huntress, that is. The presence of seraphim clearly does wonders for that place.
With permission granted, he sits down with Maglor, gingerly tipping the bucket sideways to let the water pour out into the soil. Periodically he rights the bucket again and presses his hands against the dirt, feeling where the water is flowing, relocating himself and the bucket to try a different angle. It's not a quick process, but he sure looks like he's enjoying himself.]
