[Someone's back from her coma. It might be hard to tell, because she immediately disappears into her quarters (not hanging around on the bridge, as usual, or working on the battered shuttle).

One other indication that she's back; she quietly delivers her gift basket - unopened - to the galley. It's yours for the taking. Among the usual items, it also includes candied grubs, a scarf and goggles, and a little toy car. Either she didn't want these items, or more likely she didn't bother to open it in the first place.

If you want to check you'll have to ask her yourself, which might be easier said than done; after the calibrations themselves, and post-coma grogginess and fatigue, she's not going to make herself available as much as she usually does. You still might be able to catch her when she has to make a trip to the galley, as necessity dictates, or if there are any captain duties that require her attention on the bridge.]

[She knows it too, that her time as a recluse is numbered by her station, but she appreciates that most of her crew know to stay out of her way during times like these (Tyrion notwithstanding).]

[She's on her way out when he catches her; basic protein paste meal eaten, coffee collected. She could easily pretend to ignore him and keep going, but it's been long enough that she does stop, hesitate a moment, and turn back to face him.]

[He'd been coming in for something similar, but catching sight of her makes her quickly readjust his plans, such as they are.]

But for now, a long silence stretches between them as she thinks on it. No, she'd really rather not. She wants to retire back into her quarters and forget anything exists. But, she's a captain, she has a duty, and on top of that she can recognize what Kaidan's trying to do and she recognizes why she might need it.

She looks at her coffee, then back up at him.]

We can spar. For a little bit.

[She's going to be rusty, for once in her life.]

[He gives her his usual subdued smile, but honestly it's probably a good thing for him she's not feeling herself as much today]

[Yeah she's doing this without her prosthetic, even. Rusty or not, she didn't need it to beat someone up.]

[He smiles as he nods down the hall, making a flailing attempt at a little bit of humor.]

I doubt it'll survive the trek but we'll see how long it lasts.

[Small, faint grin, quickly hidden as she takes another drink.]

[Small victories, Kaidan thinks, and heads down the hall to the cargo bay at an easy pace]
