[She wakes up all at once, disoriented, because this isn't her familiar bunk on the Windrose, and the comfortable, warm weights of Jellybean and Officer Snuggles are missing. It also, thank fuck, doesn't look like any place she knows in Proles. Wrath staggers around the room for a circuit, tries the door, oh shit it's locked, and--

It takes a second for her never-quite-the-same memory to identify where the hell she's ended up: she's on the Marsiva.

...again?

It's a little disquieting, because everything is arranged exactly how she remembered before. But she knows what's going on this time, right?

Right?

And just as she's gathering her thoughts to try to speak coherently for a broadcast... BANG. A little spray of confetti--she remembers this part, kind of--and she's on the bridge of a ship, but it's not her ship, and she's even more confused. She whips around, trying to figure out where the hell she even is.]

...what the fuck is even going on?

[Broadcast]
[She is still so very, very confused.]

Um. Hi everyone! It's me. Wrath. First officer of the Windrose.

[This is dumb. Everyone already knows who you are, Wrath.]

I mean. You know that already. But. Um. Does anyone know why I was on the Marsiva and then... still not on my ship? Did I get my ass killed or something?

Um. And Captain Vision, sorry. For whatever I did to end up here. I didn't mean it. Unless I did mean it at the time, and then I'm just really, really sorry and I'll be even sorrier as soon as I can remember.

[Her smile weakens as it feels like it got kicked in the teeth at the mention of Winn, and she tries to keep it together. Her original crew aren't the only people she's gained just to lose in her time here.]

It's, um, July now instead of the new year. You've been gone for awhile. [Though she's having trouble placing exactly when though Winn's party sounded close if not right on. Wasn't Vision already gone then? Oh right, Wrath's memory. Maybe leaving and returning swiss cheesed the edges.]

There've been some changes, but the Twin Roses has a room for you and Officer Snuggles will be excited to see you.

[Take a deep breath. Start over.]

...Twin Roses?

[She just gives her time with the first part, trusting she does remember how and that it's just the surprise of it happening to her. Kitty has been through two of these places now and she's never had to deal with the disappearing and reappearing part of the life. At least not yet.]

Soooooooooo... It was kind of extreme. We lost control of the Windrose. I couldn't get any of the systems to respond or change course and we flew straight toward the Three Twins that was doing the same thing. And then instead of all crashing to our deaths we ended up on a blended ship with both crews. We also got a cake. [I'm sorry I broke your ship, Wrath!]

Vash and I have been co-captaining. [And took your rank. Not that you remember having the rank.

Less sorry about the room. She's totally keeping the room.]

[Wrath listens with a look of growing confusion on her face. Finally, weakly:] Well if you got a cake, I guess it's okay?

Yeah, that was the basic consensus. [She gives her a soft smile.] It's a lot, but it's really good to see you again.

It's good to see you too? [That feels weird to say, because as far as she's concerned, she just saw Kitty.] And I'm glad you took care of Officer Snuggles! [Yes. Positive things!]

We all have. Makie and Kurt are still here. [Which feels like a more positive way of saying it rather than listing that people like Vision, Castle and Misty are gone. Or Jellybean. She's not sure if Wrath remembers her being on the ship, but she never saw the cat again after Wrath left.]

[She can read between the lines. She hopes that wherever her friends and her cat have gone, they're okay. People disappear all the time, and she never stops hating it.

But all you can do is focus on the positive.]

Makie and Kurt! That's great. They're both doing okay?

Yeah. [Confident.] You know, more or less. [Less confident.]

We just got out of a calibrations a little over a week ago. I think you were around for the first go round of that? [She's not really sure about that though.]

Oh, yeah! That's how I got to be friends with Winter!

...and that was like the only really good part. I think.

Oh, yeah, I was in his mind for a bit. I was in a lot of minds. [Kitty is actually pretty relaxed about it all. The prison did similar and worse things all the time to their minds. Probably not a great thing to just be used to, but there you are.]

We have a few new crew members for you to meet. [Just assuming she'll transfer really. Or hoping.] Including Seeker. Robb's direwolf is with me now.

I hope he's doing okay. [And glad he's still here.]

Oh wow, you have a wolf? That's so cool! I hope he and Snuggles get along okay.

Yeah. They seem to. [She was worried about that too and Kurt wouldn't have stood for it if Wrath's fox had been in trouble.] He hasn't been on board long, but it's going well.

Do you want to come over and see what the ships looks like now? [She feels bad about it. That Wrath is going through this confusing shake up and suddenly home isn't home and also literally not even where she's assigned.]

Have you guys been taking care of him the whole time I was gone? That's really good of you.

[She wants to see and kind of doesn't. There have been so many dislocations in her life, and it feels... scary to go see home and not have it actually look like itself any more. But if that's where Kurt and Kitty are, she wants to make sure they're in a good environment too...] Sure! Um. I'll grab a shuttle over.

Of course we have. He's our crewmate. [And he's Wrath's. What more did they need to know?]

Good. I'll meet you in the cargo bay. [One of the first changes is that Vision's garden is a little bigger now. It was combined with the other ship's. There are aspects that are still very Windrose as well as some that are very Three Twins.]

You're right! I shouldn't be surprised at all. You're good people.

[And here she comes. Wrath barrels out of the shuttle as per usual, but slows and stops quickly. The mix of familiar and unfamiliar even in the cargo bay is... weird. Really weird.]

[She can see the look on Wrath's face and guesses the cause.] Yeah, it takes some getting used to. [Kitty hated it at first. It didn't feel like home anymore and she was still dealing with Vision and Wrath being gone and Misty transferring even before she disappeared. It was almost enough to get her to move in with Winn on the Tourist permanently except she wasn't sure how Kurt would take that idea and she wasn't leaving him. And then, day by day it became more like home and not just because the other crew kept disappearing. She misses them too.

But why miss people now when she just got someone back? It's hugging time! She steps forward to greet the other woman. At least Kitty looks the same? The biggest difference is a small one. She's wearing a silver ring with three blue stones in it. Intended as an engagement ring even if it's a little non traditional and Winn left before there was a proposal. She found it hidden in his things.]

[Wrath isn't one for noticing small details unless there's an active combat scenario. Hugging is definitely not that aggressive. But still enthusiastic, and not quite rib-cracking, but close. Wrath's still getting used to being back at full strength in certain ways, and plus it's just really good to see Kitty.]

At least you haven't gotten smooshed together with someone else!

[She laughs at that.] Don't give them any ideas! [And she's happy for hugs even tight ones. Especially tight ones? She missed her!]

Oh no, that would be gross. Hopefully they weren't listening just now. [All the hugs you could possibly want, Kitty. Even if it hasn't felt like that long to Wrath.] You look great!
