TWIN ROSES

I'm sure most of the crew are doing this, but probably not as a team effort? I was thinking though, we should make a couple groups and shop while we're in a decent system, stock up on food and anything else we might need. I'm sure there's always someone thinking they should have gotten this or that and if we're together, we might not miss much.

I know I'm going down to see what I can find for potions so if anyone wants to meet up, I'm easy to reach.

FLEETWIDE

I'll be visiting the planet soon, and probably often.

I know I promised Merlan that we'd find a nice set for tea so if anyone sees any nice ones, feel free to say something. Or let me know if you want to meet up, I know there are a lot of people I haven't had the chance to meet yet.

I'm also hoping to find potion ingredients. I'll probably be busy once I've found enough.

I don't think I could. It's too obvious a thing to take credit for.

Since I have been here! [ Maglor nods ] Most people seem to do their own shopping, for the most part.

In places like this, it seems kind of inefficient to just shop on your own rather than working together.

It does, but I suppose up until now, most of the shopping districts have been smaller, perhaps.

That is true, I've definitely never seen so many places to shop before. On Azeroth or since I came here.

Nor I! This entire place seems to be nothing but shops, although I assume there must be some actual other things too.

I'm sure there are. There wouldn't be as many people living here long-term otherwise, I'm sure.

True - although I have yet to see any! I wonder how many sleep in their shops.

It doesn't seem like anyone here would have to live in their shops as well as run them.

It would be convienient considering some of the hours they seem to open, but no, I am sure you are right. With all this... rapid transport, they must live elsewhere.

That's why most shops do keep a number of employees, I'm sure. It's not uncommon on Azeroth.

I would like to see your Azeroth, one day. It really does sound interesting.

I wish I could show it to you but with the war against the orcs, I wouldn't drag anyone into that.

[ Maglor smiles a little wryly ] Khadgar, I have been fighting orcs for literal millenia, I don't think that will be a problem.

I don't know what orcs are like where you're from but these can be... monsters. Especially green ones.

[He watched one literally crush a mans skull. And throw a horse.]

They are the Enemy. They say they were made from Elves, once, from those that Morgoth took and broke, and from them he bred a race of monsters, foul beasts who live to hate. They will turn on each other, if they have no other enemies to fight. I pity them, sometimes. But I do not forget what they do to their prisoners, either. Too often I have had to give the mercy stroke to those left in the lands they ravaged, too often I have seen the wreck of their prisoners. Foul creatures! There are few who can make the deeds of our family seem mild by comparison, but those of Morgoth's creation do so easily.

They're... definitely our enemy. Or, most of them are. Durotan was okay, and his clan. And Garona. They aren't relatives of elves though, so far as I can tell. They came from an entirely different world from ours.

Not like ours then.

[ There's still something a little bloodthirsty in his eyes ]

If some of them can be reasoned with.

[That's concerning. He's suddenly glad Garona isn't here.]

Garona learned our language, and helped us. Durotan sought us out.

[ He probably wouldn't have attacked her. Maybe. Perhaps. ]

Melkor taught them a language of his and Sauron's devising, harsh and unlovely - Maedhros says there were elements of Valarin in it, as well as parts from the tongues of Men and even, he thinks, some of of our own first tongue. But as they became legion their own tongues splintered and shattered into many dialects, so most learnt Common, although even their use of it remains ugly to hear. They only ever seek us out to kill.

[A chance he's not sure he'd want to take. Khadgar would probably consistently keep track of her until he was reassured.]

We didn't understand the Orcs language at all. We still don't, Garona had to translate when we met with Durotan. [No comment on orcs killing people. They've been doing that but mostly capturing people for fuel.]

I learnt some of the Black Speech - Maedhros knows more but he will not use it willingly, for it reminds him too much of his captivity. It was useful for interrogating prisoners, though.

That's alright, I wouldn't ask either of you to repeat anything in a language like that.

[Hm] I could probably sketch out Garona or Durotan for you. In case they ever get drawn in by Atroma.

If you like - I will know to watch for your friends, then.

Mostly, I'd just hate to see my friends all fighting one another or risk any of you getting hurt over misunderstandings.

[That's right, Maglor. Even though you force him into unnecessarily fancy clothes, you're a friend.]
