shinra soldiers need not apply

Who: Zack Fair / OTA
Broadcast: Yes!
Action: the Caprine
When: Now!

[...Alright, so that was. Weird. He was totally just on the Marsiva, but now he's on another ship, apparently! With confetti, and... pudding, which gets set aside for now, because he's sure as hell not trusting random food thrown at him willynilly.

He's more interested in the new ship itself, so he'll be exploring the place, poking his head into whatever room he comes across unless it's locked. Apologies in advance?]

( video; fleetwide )

[Have a Zack! Pulling bits of confetti out of his hair. He looks about as confused as any newcomer, though perhaps not as disturbed. He has officially Seen Some Shit, as one might guess by the semi-glowing blue eyes.]

Testing, testing... okay, we'll pretend this works. It's kinda different from standard issue ShinRa PHS, but it doesn't look that complicated...

Anyway- hey there, fellow space people. Name's Zack. Am I crazy, or are the voices in my head legit when they say I'm on TV? 'Cause, uh. I'd kind of prefer that, at this point. Not really a fan of the random voices concept.

...Aerith? Where'd you end up?

[TRIES VERY HARD NOT TO BE WORRIED]

Now? Oh yeah. I was all messed up for a while when I was here, and then... um. A thingy happened and it was way worse, but Dr. Crusher removed my ports, and Vision talked my nanites into re-growing my bones again, and I'm okay now! Good as ever.

[Maybe more context is needed. Erm.] Um. And my back was all FUBAR when I got here cause like... um. Two years ago? I got thrown out the 99th story of the Bifrons office tower and all my bones pulped when I hit the sidewalk. Then when the doc tried to grow me some new metalloid composite bones they were messed up because of the ports and everyone where I'm from thinks it's like impossible to remove those so it never got better.

So coming here was a really great thing! For a lot of reasons.

Well... I already had like synthetic muscle fibers and a lot of artificial organs and stuff so that probably helped. Plus like when I got thrown out I had my plasma sword and I got it in the wall of the building and ripped down until the heat bleed made the blade snap, so that helped slow me a lot too.

No, it's not rude at all! I'd rather people just ask stuff, because when they don't say what they're thinking and then stuff gets weird it just confuses me.

Um. Anyway. I don't think I'm a robot? Like I think my brain is still my same old brain even if it's kind of a shitty brain. And... my right hand isn't artificial, and my left leg. And. Um. One of my kidneys? And my left eye! And the rest wasn't replaced all at once, except the muscle fibers. I just took a lot of injuries during the war.

And I mean. Like robots are manufactured in a factory, right? As far as I know I was born the normal way from a uterine replicator, even if I don't actually remember that.

Well... yeah? I mean, why would you do it any other way if you didn't have to?

[She wrinkles her nose like he just made a deeply gross suggestion.] It's really dangerous and unhealthy. People used to die because they carried around babies in their bodies.

[Wrath shrugs.] I don't know, I'm not an expert on the whole body pregnancy thing because no one does it any more except the super conservative religious weirdos.

Kind of like eating protein that comes from actual living animals, you know? [An artifact of a dark and horrifying age as far as she's concerned.]

[She wrinkles her nose. She's long since over being shocked by cavemen.] Kind of depends. Would you rather waste a lot of scarce resources like raising a chicken so you can murder it and eat its corpse because you believe that somehow makes it better than protein farm chicken that tastes exactly the same?

[Shrug.]

I get the impression it's like that for most people who come here. Except like the Star Fleet people.

I live in a city under a dome that's a totally closed environment where there's really limited space to make all the food for everyone to eat and animals take up a lot of space and use way more resources than vat protein. So only shitty rich people who don't care about anyone else eat them.

[Her lips quirk.] That's just how it is.

I try not to judge. I'm better at it some times than others, sorry.

[Double thumbs up.]

Well, I mean. You could ask for a lot more than that. Like ice cream! Or better guns. Or. Um. Ice cream and better guns!

I like swords a lot better too! I think they have more utility than projectile weapons, especially in space-based combat. But man, try finding a good sword around here. It sucks.

Oh. Right. I already said that maybe. Sorry, I forget things sometimes. But yeah, good luck! I'll let you know if I spot something good in any of the systems.
