[Anyone on the Marsiva can find a short fussy elf if they'd like. He spends most of his time in the kitchen trying to figure out what weird-ass ingredients he's supposed to cook with, but he can also be found just... staring outside the window.]

[This is not Belthazar's first rodeo. He's not going to sit here and play with the console for your entertainment. He figures it out in about two seconds, being familiar with comm devices already, and he is furious. The look he gives and his tone are ice cold. That combined with the glowing green eyes is a pretty freaky effect, but he looks and sounds fairly young.]

Is this some kind of game, Initiative? I am DONE. Do you understand? This is unacceptable. I did not ask to be removed from my property, and my books-- [oh, he is so angry about his books]-- and I have studies I must attend to. My arcane research is infinitely more important than your misguided sloppy war or your failed attempts at entertainment, which I assume this is supposed to be.

[He leans back, looking about as severe as a fifteen year old can look.]

Depends on the ship. They vary depending on who's on it, and if they've bought any upgrades. For example, my ship has a lot of people who are pilots or communications officers, so the helm is the most impressive part.

That's... interesting. I think I'm supposed to be a cook. Does that change anything?

[She might not know, but it's worth asking.]

In that case, I think the kitchen will have more available, and better ingredients. So I'm sure your crew will thank you.

Hmph. Maybe I can make something resembling food.

[A pause, and then he adds with no small trace of snobbishness.]

Though I'll likely just conjure it.

[ Amused ... ]

You can conjure food? Does that make you a mage of some kind, then?

[arcanepower]

[Here's something he likes to talk about.]

That's correct. I am a magister's apprentice-- a position that is usually held by people who are twice my age. My master allows me to borrow his books and study arcane magic beneath him, and I take care of his property and run errands in return.

That's pretty neat. How long does it usually take to finish that type of apprenticeship?

[arcanepower]

It depends on the student's potential and the magister's plans. When a magister steps down or is... indisposed, his successor is usually named among his apprentices. There are tests, of course, but the position requires both politics and strength.

Some apprentices have been serving the same magister for fifty years. I've only served mine for five, but he is sure to retire soon and I am more than capable of passing the examination. [He clears his throat.] It also helps that I am the only apprentice he has.

Huh ... sounds pretty complicated. That's cool that you'll probably be taking his place, though. It sounds like a lot of responsibility!

[arcanepower]

C... cool? Really?

[Aaaaaaaand he's blushing. Again. Right to the tips of his ears.]

Well, yeah! You look pretty young, but you're already that close to a position of power in your world. That's pretty impressive.

I guess so. I'm not doing it for the glory. I just--

[He doesn't want to say too much, so he just looks down awkwardly. Adrasteius would want him to say thank you. So he does.]
