[Arthur's been a bit bored and homesick lately, so he's settled himself in the galley of the Huntress with a cup of tea and a sketchpad, working on a rough plan for... well, it's anyone's guess really, because the angle to the camera isn't ideal. Still, it's apparently cheering him up because he's got a smile.]

With how much downtime we seem to have between bursts of alien madness, I thought I'd ask what hobbies people have picked up to pass the hours. New ones, ones from home? Myself, I've been trying to pick up the guitar again after our stay in the Corbius belt, but also would be interested in getting back into a few handicrafts I like to think I'm rather good at.

Which brings me to my second question. Has anyone come across a source for sewing supplies? Or perhaps for wood carving? Neither have to be particularly fancy. I can work with some very basic tools.

If anyone needs something tailored, I suppose I could take on a commission or two as well. Once I have the materials, that is.

Mostly curiosity. And it's not a bad way to see which of us might have common interests.

Sewing supplies there are aplenty here, my friend - cloth and thread, wool and flax and linen. Want me to fetch you some?

I garden. It is nothing impressive, but it is relaxing, I suppose.

I might know where I can get you some sewing supplies, if you don't mind trading for a small project.

I'll come with you. I think I might be making a number of trips there before we leave the system.

Do you have any favorite plants to grow?

Things that are useful, like herbs. Or things I can make into tea.

What sort of project? I'm sure we can arrange something.

I've done a bit of that myself here. It beats paying local prices for them.

Well, you see, I was hoping you might able to make a small, tailored coat? For.. .a clock. So the proportions are a bit unusual in that regard. Based off an original, human-sized version.

There are some planets where you can find it cheap, or it is worth paying the extra credits for it, but otherwise it's easier to just grow it in my room.

It does make for a steadier supply.

Mmm. And it is certainly better than that rubbish they have in the machines.

Ah, good, you know him! And yes, that's who it would be for. In those gift baskets we received after calibrations, he got his former uniform coat. I was hoping that a small version of that to fit his current body could be made.

Ah, I see. I can understand why that might be a little... upsetting.

If I can get a good look at the coat, I can certainly recreate it.

From the sounds of it, I may have gotten off somewhat easy with my gift basket. So many seem to have double edged gifts in them. The worst of mine was a stupid mug.

I'm afraid I've never gotten much of a taste for coffee, except for help burning the midnight oil when I'm behind on work.

Ooh, Mikleo has a lot of sewing things; he likes to make his own clothes and some of mine. I can ask him where he found everything if you like.
