Stitches and Thread
Who: Arthur and open
Broadcast: Video
Action: Huntress
When: Monday
[Arthur's been a bit bored and homesick lately, so he's settled himself in the galley of the Huntress with a cup of tea and a sketchpad, working on a rough plan for... well, it's anyone's guess really, because the angle to the camera isn't ideal. Still, it's apparently cheering him up because he's got a smile.]
With how much downtime we seem to have between bursts of alien madness, I thought I'd ask what hobbies people have picked up to pass the hours. New ones, ones from home? Myself, I've been trying to pick up the guitar again after our stay in the Corbius belt, but also would be interested in getting back into a few handicrafts I like to think I'm rather good at.
Which brings me to my second question. Has anyone come across a source for sewing supplies? Or perhaps for wood carving? Neither have to be particularly fancy. I can work with some very basic tools.
If anyone needs something tailored, I suppose I could take on a commission or two as well. Once I have the materials, that is.

voice;
voice;
What sort of work do you do, if I may ask?
voice;
As for at home? Government work, mostly.
voice;
. . . government work?
voice;
And it's not really that interesting work, but it's something of a lifetime appointment.
voice;
[a considering pause] A king, then?
[what else would you do for a lifetime]
Re: voice;
[Snorts softly, shaking his head even if she can't see him.]
Not me. I've worked for my fair share, however. Of course, currently, we have a Queen. And a Prime Minister, but they hardly stick around long enough to note half the time.
voice;
I do not know what a prime minister is, but that does make a bit of sense if they are human. Where is London, if I may ask? Is it a country?
voice;
[Surprised, would have sworn she sounded English.]
Oh, well, it's sort of an elected king, I suppose. And yes, very human.
As for London, she's the finest city on Earth and the capital of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
[Proud country is proud.]
voice;
[technically she's from England, just fantasy other world England]
Ah - so it is like our councilmen.
—oh! I am familiar with Great Britain. Or - England, yes?
voice;
Likely very much so. And at your service.
voice;
[she's so pleasant]
. . . beg pardon?
voice;
England. My name.
voice;
You are named after your country?
voice;
And not quite. I can hardly be named after myself.
voice;
[......] You are the country?
voice;
I am.
voice;
. . .
I have heard stranger. Well met?
voice;
The existence of this fleet, for example.
voice;
voice;
We'd only just started to inch into space when I was taken.
voice;
voice;
These stars would be bloody gits as gods.
voice;
voice;
[Siiigh.]
