There is a wedding on the planet. You may know this because you were invited to this wedding by this little guy and it's a lovely ceremony! You can watch the couple get married, wether you know them or not, the whole fleet was invited.Even if they don't know you either.

Noctis was in all black and he was beside himself, the time had finally come and after seeing his beautiful bride he couldn't look away. The music was soft yet appropriate. Luna was beaming, holding onto Shiro's arm down the aisle until they were together and holding hands. The vows went on as if in another room. Noctis couldn't quite focus on them, he was fighting getting sucked into Luna's orbit and just kissing her prematurely. Distantly he heard his cue to repeat after the offician and he recited his vows word for word. Umbra had their rings ready for them. When he put Luna's on her finger he felt a tear spill down his cheek. He couldn't stop smiling. The officiant led Luna then and Noctis hung on every word. Her voice was melodic and soft. Then he had a ring on his finger and he felt himself crying again. He just looked at her, he officiant left them through the end, announcing it was over, they were married.

Noctis didn't wait for any cue, he pulled Luna in close and dipped her as they kissed.

They were laughing and crying and holding each other tight. They were in their own world for the time being. But the RECEPTION starts now. And that's what everyone really came for. There's alcohol, food in a buffet, and cake . Those of you at the cake tasting with them may notice the flavor you recommended is available as a donut! All of the suggested flavors are availalble, it was hard to decide who didn't get their favorite and what ONE flavor to make an entire cake out of. It didn't sit well with either of them.

Also sparklers There is a table with a few gifts on it, but it contains a large display of long sparklers with matches and a bucket of water saying "Please light up our night!"

SO Have at the reception everybody!

There is a: Dance floor with music booming, a buffet with delicious food and CAKE, There is BOOZE of all types and it's just flowing with no signs of stopping, and sparklers! Also dancing with the bride..... or getting a photo with the couple!

[ Jill doesn't study his reaction, understanding that she'd be beyond thrilled if it was someone that she knew. The hardships that they'd faced all made them worthy of deserving a happy ending (so to speak). She'd like to think she already had hers. ]

Hm, didn't know that about Noctis. [ Apparently she's more on the bride's side, then, if there were traditional sides. ] I hope that means they'll get a break from that kind of responsibility being here.

[ She doesn't say more on the subject, but she's dealt with her fair share of diplomats and politicians and people bound by duty never had it easy. It's nothing something she'll bring up to them, whether it be tonight or long after unless it's brought up first. It's nice to stretch your legs and have a breather, she imagines. ]

Well, you look stain-free to me. Congratulations. [ She gently lifts her drink, tipping it slightly in his direction. ] To hopefully making it out of this clean?

[He nodded emphatically. If there is one thing his friends deserve, it's time to be themselves without duty and doom looming over their heads. He was never good at politics and diplomacy, but he could see the toll it took.]

The trick is to avoid anything with sauce or jam. [He doesn't have a glass to raise, so he lifts the camera dangling around his neck in a similar gesture.] Cheers!

I'm Prompto, by the way.

[ She has no idea what kind of things may come up here and if anything, it seems more likely. Maybe it's a good thing she came along -- she doesn't really do the whole personal life thing. Work is what she does and who she is, so at least if there came a time where their diplomatic skills came up to bat, they'd have a good catcher right behind them.

Without knowing them terribly long, it's an odd thing to feel so fond of someone. It isn't something that Jill really does. Keeping closed off is easier, after all. ]

That's a trick I won't be doing in that case. If you think I'm going to avoid either of those at a wedding reception, you've got another thing comin'. [ At least she's used to being dirty. Better sauce or some kind of jam filling than blood -- especially at a wedding. ] Hey, Prompto. I'm Jill -- Heron's tactical support and I guess vague friend of both.

In that case. [He leans across the table to swipe up all of the napkins he can reach and drops them by her.] You might need these. Not say you will, but you might, and it's good to be prepared.

[Excuse him while he lifts his camera and snaps off a few of something happening nearby.] Tactical support. That's cool. I'm just maintenance. And photographer! Not that that's an official... [It totally should be though.] And best friend of one. Best friend-in-law of the other.

Ha, I bet you think you're being really cute right now, huh. [ She sounds amused about the gesture, at the very least, which indicates if it was his goal it might just be working on her. ] I'll keep them mapped mentally for the eventful occasion that I'm covered in red sauce.

[ She makes a point of curiously trying to pick out what he found worth taking a photo of. Some couple dancing or the activity itself. Maybe a candid of the couple chatting -- that's just as charming as anything more intimate, she thinks. ]

Well, haven't used that ability anywhere yet, how about you? The maintenance part, I mean, since it's pretty obvious the photographer part's being flexed as we speak. [ Might be useful to have someone documenting goings-on in the fleet, actually. ] Hm, I take it the best friend is Noctis? Seem like the kind of guy who would get chummy with him. Lunafreya seems the type to make friends with everyone she meets...

I try. [He likes to think he's funny. At the very least, he tries to impart a bit of fun on the people around him, even if it comes at his own expense.

He smiles and tilts the camera toward her, so she can see the screen and the photo he took of a couple laughing. They could be just friends, but one's got their arm slung over the other. It reminded him of those times when Gladio would drag him into a headlock.]

Not really. I check up on the little cleaning bots, but they seem to run just fine without me. Just means I can focus on my true love. [He wiggles the camera with a grin. He would happily take up the role of space photographer.

He searches out and finds the happy couple again.] You got it. I've known Noct since high school. [Well, technically, sooner... but that was a long story full of regret, sadness, and stalking.] Didn't actually meet Luna until I got here.

[ Jill decidedly likes Prompto. It's a snap decision based on thin reasoning, but for now it'll do just fine.

Jill inches closer, still careful to hang on the corner of the table that she's almost-sitting on but trying her darnedest not to because this is a wedding and that's not appropriate for a wedding, however empty the edges of the table may be. It's a nice candid photo -- real. It's the sort of thing she knew that she'd appreciate if it were her event. ]

I appreciate that you didn't pretend otherwise, but you really could've sold me on them needing you to survive, you know. [ Her nose crinkles a touch when she smiles more widely. Ah, a true romantic. ] Well, I'm glad for both happy couples in that case.

[ She's the worst kind of unfunny. ]

Guess that technically makes me right, then. I imagine you probably know I didn't know either until I came here. I didn't meet either in person until they were cake-shopping. [ She's pretty excited to give it a try and find out what they decided on. ] It's good that people you know are here. Seems a lot of people are like that.

[That's good, because Prompto likes just about everyone (unless their name is Ardyn). He'd made up his mind about Jill already.

He offers up a cheeky grin.] Hey, could be a matter of life and death, someday. You never know.

[It's cool. He appreciates the humor. Even finds it funny enough to chuckle at as he pulls the camera away to flip through some recent photos while they talk.]

They're pretty great, huh? [Now if only they could acquire Gladio and get rid of Ardyn...] Do you have anyone from your world here with you?

Could very well be, especially facing the unknown! I mean, this planet seems a little advanced compared to where I'm from but not too different. Sure there's plenty stranger ones out there.

[ It's the kind of thrill that she lives for, though she'd rather be living it with friends. It kind of kills the mood when you think about flying it solo. At least she'd have a bunch of (hopefully great) stories to share with them whenever they meet again.

She straightens her back with the roll of a shoulder, staring beyond the crowd at nothing in particular in between a glance or two to reaffirm that she's listening to him. ]

I wouldn't be here if I didn't think that. I'm not much of a wedding crasher type. [ She hopes the gift suited them after the conversation that she had with Lunafreya. Experiential gifts are important, she thinks. ] 'fraid I'm flying solo and with my luck, someone I'm not particularly fond of would show up.

[ He's dead, though. Dead and buried in a tomb of lava. ]

[He nods in agreement, though he'd argue his own planet is probably more advanced in some ways, but less advanced in others - all depending on where you hung your hat. But it would take an awful lot of explaining, and that is something he's never been all that good at.] I'm kind of - tentatively - excited to see what else is out there, y'know.

[The confirmations that she's listening are nice. He's been known to ramble on and on, only to look around and find he'd been talking to himself all along. He hums in sympathy. He'd feel pretty bummed to be out here on his own.] One of our headaches showed up.

[That's probably not helpful. It would be nice if Ardyn were dead and buried in lava.]

[ Jill's better at explaining things that aren't technology. She can use it just fine, including some advanced types, but when it boils down to the whys and hows of it all and adapting it to usability for someone else? That's probably not going to happen. ]

Not gonna lie, though, I'm a little excited about it, too. I'd rather be home for sure, but space travel really only exists in a learning stage right now. No livability or anything like this and there aren't any known occupied planets, either.

[ She says it with a little upturn of her voice like it's an invitation for him to share similarities or differences between what she's confirmed about her own world. Some people did seem to spend a lot of time in outer space here, but others were more like herself. Was there rhyme or reason to that? ]

...that so. Sorry to hear that. Fond enough of the bride and groom so if things get a little rough, you can count on me to back you guys up.

[ She offers a thumbs up. A little awkward, but she doesn't seem to catch onto that. ]

[Aw, man. Prompto loves technology. He loves using it, and taking it apart and figuring it out, and putting it back together. The more advanced the better. Some niggling part of him wonders if his love of machines is hardwired in his genetic code or something, but he tries very hard to ignore it.]

Space travel isn't even a thing where I'm from. I'm sure we could figure it if we weren't wasting all our resources on killing each other.

[Insomnia made some great stride in technology, but could only do so much within the confines of the wall. And though he was loath to admit it, Niflheim was seriously advanced. Too bad they used their genius for evil.

He gave her a grateful smile.]

'Preciate it. Guy can be a handful. He hasn't tried anything catastrophic yet, but... Ya' never know. His name is Ardyn - tall guy, red hair, weird clothes, dumb hat.

[ Good, she'll leave it to him. Too bad Quint isn't here, he could probably impart some very slick knowledge unto Prompto. She hates to admit it but she misses even him -- though she hadn't swung around to him yet back home after those three years. She'd gotten to the ones that matter most, arguably, but there's still this aching gap she tries to deny. ]

Take it war's pretty common? Not uncommon where I'm from, but a lot of it ties into my work. [ Especially if it's under-handed. Western, first world governments wouldn't use BOWs but it was lucrative for guerrilla forces or sketchy businesses. Cheaper than using people, too. ] Who knows? Maybe you'll go home and it'll settle down and you, too, can use your science to explore your local galaxy.

[ Like a sales pitch, almost. ]

The fact you've the idea that he might probably speaks a lot about the kinda guy he is. [ Holding back? Seems like it. But she can understand it. Even your greatest enemy, to be the "good guy," you don't just go and kill them because they're on your turf. There might be other things that factor into that, but that's probably between them. ] Think I saw a flash of someone like that. I'll have you know I take my hats pretty seriously, so anyone without taste in them isn't usually right in my book.

[ It's a wedding, so that's what she manages for now. Any other time she might've already said to let her know if he needs a toe kick to the face and an arm bar that fractures. ]

Yeah. War's been going on for as long as I remember. [Though for most of his life it was more an outside thing. He grew up safe inside a walled city. The war was somewhere else. Abstract. Background noise on the TV. What did Niflheim do this time?

He chuckles at the idea. His last memory of home is desperate and not at all hopeful. But maybe they find the crystal. Maybe they get rid of Ardyn. Maybe they reclaim Noct's kingdom and rebuild...] That would be awesome.

Thanks. He can be charming when he wants to be. [Prompto had been willing to give him a chance when they'd first met him. Boy did he regret that now.] But he hurts people.

Got a lot of wars where I'm from, I guess. One ends, another pops up. [ But he talks about it like it's singular. Either way is sad, but it must devastate whatever region its occurring in terribly if it's ongoing in such a way. She'd joined the army young, so she familiarized herself quickly with it first-hand. ] Here's to the best for both of us, in that case.

[ She had friends and family to get back to and a long overdue "you're not dead" party, whatever that may encompass so long as there was cake and hopefully champagne. She thinks she deserves champagne this time.

Maybe beer, too. ]

Psychopaths often can be, in my experience. [ She's quick to use the label both to reassure him she'll see through it and that she believes him. ] Guess it's always a little sad that they don't use that charm for something better, you know...?

That's gotta be tough. [He wasn't a soldier. He left home with a crash course in self-defense under his belt. But he's watched two cities fall, and his aim has gotten pretty damn good.] Yeah. Cheers.

[He smiles wryly. That she believes is a relief. He's heard Ardyn over the channels, and how others interact with him. And it's bothered him, that there are people here that are unaware of just who - what - they're talking to. Or worse - that they are aware and don't care.]

Yeah. Why is the ones with all the power turn out the most evil?

My world's pretty big. Most of the time it's hundreds of thousands of miles away.

[ She doesn't fight in wars like that, but the two typically go hand-in-hand, bioterrorism can be part of it and can fuel it and the average military force isn't prepared for dealing with it at all. People always play that "zombie apocalypse" game and think they'd survive, but most people? A very large portion? It doesn't matter how careful, smart, or resilient you are normally. ]

Entitlement, I guess. Learn at a young age that you have everything and you can't fill the void. Then again, there's plenty with power that aren't corrupt, right? We have a saying where I'm from: "absolute power corrupts absolutely," but it's obviously not always true. Just enough that a cliche has some fact behind it.

It used to be like that. I don't know about hundreds of thousands of miles, but far away. Somewhere else.

[The treaty was supposed to change that - by ending it. Ceasefires are supposed to cease fires - not make them bigger. But the treaty was lie and, speaking of the apocalypse, they were barreling headfirst into theirs, they just didn't know it yet.]

I guess that's true. [He searches for and finds Luna and Noctis again. They're both powerful, and not evil or corrupt.] I think we've got a saying like that too. Must be true everywhere, huh?

Usually is the case for where I'm from. Not usually on American soil, but we'll go to where the fights are and aid allies.

[ In the war against bioterrorism, though, there aren't borders and there aren't allies. They go where they're needed to combat it, though each region has their own team.

Jill's special, though. Few North American members scatter about the world, but she's up there in clearance level. ]

Assholes exist in every reality, it seems. Kind of disappointing, but it's always good to know it's not true overall, that not everyone is corrupted or uses their skills for the wrong reasons.
