When: a little while after Ochako's post asking for driving lessons

[ This started as Jayden answering Ochako's request for a driving instructor. And, you know, someone to help her get out of her upside-down vehicle. Bless. And it was going rather well! They went through some basics, got out of the parking lot and onto the road - a less busy road, of course.

And then, apparently, they picked up another kid! And a... slug?? Well, okay? But Jayden stuck to her teaching efforts even with the sudden addition of a backseat passenger. It... of course got derailed a little bit here and there, thanks to conversations, and shenanigans, and is that another pet oh my god what?? But hey! No big deal! Things are still rolling! Everything's okay! It's fine. This is fine. This... could be worse. Right? Right.

Oh boy.

Long story short, there is A Lot going on in this car right now, none of which Jayden was prepared for. But she's managing to keep her cool. For now. Lord knows she's just a few seconds away from pulling out her communicator and calling up Aizawa though. She might need some backup here...

At least Ochako's driving well enough! Jayden does verbally correct her on a few things here and there, and God bless the on-board computer for helping out if anything needs substantial correcting. Technology is great, when it's not turning you upside down and backwards for some unknown reason.

[ZOOM ZOOM MOTHERFUCKERS

After the slightly-harrowing start, Ochako's actually having a lot of fun with this. The car's on the small side (since she is also small and needs to be able to reach the pedals and see over the dash) but that just means it's easier to move around the other vehicles, and Fie joining them means the company's all the more fun for her. Jayden's great, of course! Wonderful lady, very helpful, very nice. But Fie's her age, so... it's different, is all.]

Hey, you know what this road trip needs? Music! We should see if there's a place to buy some good tunes.

[HONK HONK

Fie's head pops in between the front seats too look at Ochako.]

It'll distract you from driving. You're here to learn, aren't you?

[That's rich coming from her, but that's not the point. She reaches over to hand something to Jayden. ... it's a granola bar looking thing she got from a vending machine along the way.

And she just sits back without a word.]

[ Jayden stares at the granola bar now in her hand, with no clue how to process that it's there, just like she's got no clue how the hell she got here in this entire situation to begin with. Lord. ]

Mm. Your friend's got a good point - stay focused on the road right now. How about we find a place when you feel more comfortable? [ Beat. She waves the granola bar a little. ] Also why do I have this now?

[ Meeanwhile she's gonna just. Pull out her communicator and fire off a quick text to Aizawa: ] Ochako picked up another kid. so there's two of them now. and a slug and an armadillo.
you free?

[BUT... BUT TUNAGE....

they do have a point though, and she really has no desire to crash, so she refrains from arguing about it, opting instead to make pouting faces at the car's controls.]

fine I'm on my way. Get her to go by the shopping district with all the blow up displays in the courtyard.

Guessing more used to the controls. Able to avoid objects, not getting distracted easily... Those types of things.

[If Ochako wasn't her friend, she might have yelled "look out" loudly just to see what would happen. ... better not.]

[ Hungry?? She looks at it again. ... Then shrugs, figuring she'll just hold onto it for later. (Maybe give it to her Ghost to scan first...) ]

Right. [ Beat. ] I'll make you a deal. Thirty more minutes, and if you think you're still doing good, we'll get music?

[ Maybe don't tell Aizawa you're making deals but whatever~ ... She reaches over to the center console, starts poking through things... ]

Also, I'm entering coordinates into this thing. They're not far, and I'll help if you need it. Mind taking us there? We're picking someone else up.

[ You can probably guess who. Jayden isn't exactly social lmao. ]

Okaaaaaay! Here we go, hold on!

[And Ochako forgets herself for a moment and floors it, because speed is awesome and bigger groups are exciting!! sorry Jayden.]

[Doing as she's told (for once), Fie takes hold of the back of Jayden's seat as Ochako guns it.

Unfortunately for the three, Edel the armadillo didn't get the memo, as the sudden speed increase causes him to roll to the side, letting out an alarmed noise that repeats for a little bit.

Fie doesn't even acknowledge it when she speaks.]

Who're we getting?

[ Oh my God she just told Aizawa you were doing great and now you're flooring it?! Her eyes go a little wide, but hey, she understands - it is exciting, after all. So she'll just hang in there, so long as there aren't any signs of trouble.

Then the armadillo suddenly shrieks, what the hell - That makes her jump in her seat a little. She doesn't really hear Fie's question, she's turning around to try and get a look at what on earth is going on back there right now fjksdl ]

Did that come out of that thing?!

[the vehicle screeches to a halt by the corner he's at and he hears that angry...yelling? the fuck is that

aizawa ducks his head to give ochako a glare in the driver's seat, gives an equal stink eye to fie in the back before opening the door, moving that furious hairy softball over and climbing in.] Seatbelts. [lookin @ u fie]

[Ochako is as nonplussed as Aizawa is annoyed, though there is a slight twitch at her eye whenever the armadillo makes that noise in the back.]

Um. Hi, sensei! That's Fie back there. Fie, meet Aizawa-sensei.

Yes. [Is the response Jayden gets before they screech to a stop and some sketchy, bandaged hobo with permanent 4:30pm shadow gets into the car, already looking done with the worlds. Plural.

Fie retrieves Edel from his area, screaming ceased for the time being. She silently looks at Aizawa as Ochako makes introductions, fastening her seatbelt despite her unimpressed stare.

The armadillo croaks awkwardly.]

[ Now do you see why she called for backup... She does feel a little bad about interrupting whatever he'd been up to before, but she's pretty damn relieved she doesn't have to continue to try and keep up with two kids alone. Given her previous experience has amounted mostly to zero kids... yeah.

She nods at him when he climbs in, makes a slight face when the armadillo makes yet another bizarre noise, then looks to Ochako. ]

Hey. Good so far, but... maybe slow down.

[ Please? ]

[kid, you can leave flaming dogshit at his front door if it means you'll wear your seatbelt when his student drives like a lunatic in a car that can hover a hundred stories above the ground]

Nice to meet you, [he boredly follows up with after the introductions, then buckles himself in and doublechecks to make sure ochako is also- okay good.] How long's this been going on?

[ugh now that the boss is here she really won't be able to play music. jayden why you gotta betray her like this]

Um... I guess we started about an hour ago? Yeah, that sounds right.

[Fie pokes Edel, who lets out a loud croak before curling in on himself as armadillos can do. She leans back, staring out the window.]

I got picked up only twenty minutes ago. I had to give Ochako back her slug, anyway.

[ sorry Ochako - blame the armadillo?? ]

... Where'd the slug go, anyway?

[ God why. ]

[dang price you lasted a while before calling him, he's impressed

to answer the question, aizawa plucks up the fluffy slug from underneath ochako's seat and leans forward to hand it to jayden.] Here.

Carry on. Pretend like I'm not even here. [yeah right like they can do that you buzzkill]

[oh my god why are you losing her pet, you almost made her screech to a halt again

as it is Ochako's squinting at the rearview mirror trying to catch a glimpse.]
