(Trimming hair is easier said than done, but the tall Elf has done an...admirable...job? Shhh don't tell him it's uneven in parts. He sets down a pair of scissors and cocks his head, peering at himself in a mirror.)

I must have been...angled...incorrectly. (His left hand doesn't quite smack his face, but it does try to cover it as his ears go red.)

It was getting too long, you see. I became tangled in it every morn and the brushing of it was a painful business.

(Clearly annoyed, he grabs a brush, sets about smoothing it and puts it all in a ponytail. Some of the strands are rebellious, however, and fall out of the ribbon to frame his face. The tickling sensation annoys him more and he tries to tuck them, instead, behind his ears. His mangled ear doesn't make a proper perch for the copper strands and some of them fall right back where they started.)

[ Maglor nods and curls up next to him ]

I like yours though. Will you sing for me?

(He wraps a blanket around Maglor's shoulders.)

Any song in particular? Or shall I choose?

Anything you like, Nelyo. [ He rests against his side happily ]

(He hums, the sound transforming into a light-hearted song: a silly story about a lost brother on an adventure in the wilds. He encounters many animals on the way, of course; all of them wise and some of them exceptionally witty.)

[ Maglor curls next to him and his eyes glaze in content as he drifts into reverie, humming softly in harmony ]

(Maedhros leans back and tucks Maglor's head against his chest. He rounds out the song by detailing how the brother makes his way home and is greeted by his family as if he never left.)

[ Maglor sighs softly ]

Do you think so? [ He murmurs, still more than half in reverie ]

[castintoflames]

(He smiles softly and hugs him tighter.)

Yes, my Kano. I truly think so.

[bythewaves]

[ Maglor turns to curl into his hold ]

I do not know if I can.

[castintoflames]

(Maedhros hums soothingly.)

Can what? Be as you were? No one would ask that of you.

[bythewaves]

Can return.

[castintoflames]

Of course you can. Of course you will. One way or another; you have not been forgotten.

[bythewaves]

[ A low sob and Maglor curls against him ]

[castintoflames]

(He holds him as close as he can manage, rubbing over his back.)

I will come for you.

[bythewaves]

[ Maglor sniffs and allows himself to be comforted ]

I will be waiting for you. Don't take too long.

[castintoflames]

(Maedhros smiles softly, voice quiet:)

The moment I am Reborn, I will take a ship to you.

[bythewaves]

I will look for the sail on the horizon.

[castintoflames]

You will be sailing back with me before you know it.

[bythewaves]

[castintoflames]

(Maedhros nudges their foreheads together.)

It is I who should be thanking you. A thousand and one times over.

[bythewaves]

[ Maglor hums up at him happily ]

I disagree, for I am the one who benefits.

[castintoflames]

We both benefit, then. (Maedhros curls close and lays his head on Maglor's chest.)

[bythewaves]

Then we both will, and count ourselves blessed.

[ Maglor curls around him as best he can in answer, humming happily ]

[castintoflames]

I already count myself blessed. (He holds onto Maglor's tunic before he closes his eyes. His brother will know that this moment is a rarity as Maedhros's guard is completely relaxed.)
