Hey guys! It's Takeshi, captain of the SS Goldstone.

[He gives a little salute. Behind him, there's a clear view of a pool: it's roughly the size of a backyard pool, featuring a single low diving board. There is a curtained off area for changing, as well as a storage area full of colorful floaties that have logos of various Atroma sponsors printed on them (thank you, pool description). Takeshi's clearly been doing some dope belly flops himself, because his hair is wet and sticking up everywhere on his head. It's one of the rare times the boy can be seen not wearing that weird black power suit of his.

Hoi Hoi paddles along in the shallow end, where Takeshi sits.

Are these things water-proof? He's not sure.]

I just wanted to let you know in case you didn't see yet — me and Nami and the others got together and helped get a pool on the Iskaulit! So if you wanna swim without having to leave the fleet, we got that now! You should all come by and we can all swim and have lunch.

... I was thinking about practicing my swimming more today, 'cus I'm still not real great at it.

It's important to be very strong swimmers! Even in space.

I suppose. It was a long time ago. And probably one of the least troublesome incidents in my life.

[No I will not stop, I will squint forever.]

That sounds pretty scary, though.

One time I almost got dragged into a acid river; that was pretty bad, too!

[Fine, but don't cry when people make fun of you because you look ridiculous. And by people, Edna means herself.]

I suppose it was at the time but it was just one of many incidents of my childhood.

[She cocks her head to the side, curiosity all over her seraphic face.]

An entire river of acid? Are the humans on your planet really that bad?

[He shakes his head wildly.]

No, not my planet, silly!

It was a planet we crashed our ship on! Before I joined the fleet.

[Edna is curious, but she doesn't press it like Sorey or one of the others would. Instead, she just gives a slight hum before asking her questions.]

So, you were in space before you were kidnapped. What was that like? Was it better than this?

Oh, no, it was much, much, much more awful.

The people there were good, real good, but the ship was always trying to kill us. All the time! There was a guy who was in charge who wanted to be a god, or something like that... and they did all kinds of bad experiments on prisoners and stuff before we got there.

... It was a real mess!

A murdering space ship?

[It wasn't bad enough that Earth Dwellers had to kill each other, but then they made machines that did worse things as well?]

I hope you destroyed it. Otherwise, you failed.

Oh yeah, we crashed it!

... Or... it crashed itself, 'cus we had to escape people who were trying to grab us.

We landed on a weird planet -- I think there might've been aliens that wanted t'kill us in the forest, but I dunno for sure. I was gone before things got figured out...

I've heard some stories before, but that is certainly new.

[And out and out bizarre.]

So you didn't stick around to finish what they started for you. That's disappointing.

[He sighs.]

It happens a lot! Even when I don't want to.

I was in the middle of a big fight with aliens at home, and I got taken from that, too!

[She cracks a wry smile. Nice to see that she's not the only one irritated by all the goings-on around here.]

Can't say that something similar didn't happen to me. My friends and I were in between battles when I found myself here.

Oh, that's no good... What kinda fight was it for?

[He's had his fair share of those. Fights. None of them good, also.

[Edna stares at the screen trying to determine if she wants to answer this question. It's obvious that the child isn't trying to really pry or insult her, but she doesn't want to tell anyone that doesn't already know that she played a part in taking down her brother, mercy killing or no.

So, she shakes her head and shrugs.]

Saving the world, important hero crap. I got dragged into it by Sorey and Meebo.

Ohhh. I was in something like that, kinda. Only ours was alien invasions! You know, like in movies, only... it's a lot worse. I remember it all really clear, even if it was... like... four or five whole years ago.

Is your fight going okay?

What are aliens and movies?

[No, she's not kidding.]

And I suppose it is. You'd have to ask Meebo or Sorey how it's going. They know more about that, I guess.

If you're on Earth, aliens are people from other planets. And movies are really cool stories and cartoons and stuff you can watch on a screen! It's like if you took a book and imagined it out loud.

Then I guess that means we're aliens when we go to different planets here, right?

[That's at least logical in her mind.]

That sounds like a play. What is it with you Earthlings and recorded plays?

What's wrong with recording stuff?

It's like plays more people get to see, 'cus they're on tapes.

Don't you get bored watching the same thing over and over?

[She knows that reading the same books over and over again gets tiresome, but then she has a lot of free time back home.]

I never had any friends at home, so I liked watching super sentai lot... even if I already saw it.

Watching the same thing can be a nice distraction sometimes! Especially if you like it a lot.

Super what?

[She's also never had friends until recently. They are a burden she doesn't exactly hate though.]

Super sentai! They're a cool group of heroes who pilot really cool cars and planes and stuff - and when they need to defeat their biggest enemy, they combine their mecha together to make a mega mecha! [Oh no, he's practically sparkling, hands in excited fists at even the thought of his favorite television heroes.] They stop aliens from smashing towns and stuff! I wanna be like them, and be real brave.

Sounds like armatization.

[AKA that is something she already does and it's not that great half the time. It kinda hurts.]

You don't have to be one of those sen-tie people to be brave or help people. Isn't that what humans are best at? Sticking their noses where they don't belong? All in the name of "helping" each other.

Uhh... Sometimes... I guess?

Some humans don't stick their noses in anything. It depends what kinda' person you are...

I'm just saying that you don't have to be super anything to help others. You just have to want to do it.
