[ it seems to be a once-in-a-six-months-thing, Steve Rogers addressing the network like this. it's always when there's something official to say, business to attend to.

he doesn't seem too good at communicating anything else through these. at least he did away with the uniform. this post sees him in a simple black t-shirt and jeans.

and not all too cheerful, big surprise. ]

If you have any official business or need anything from the Starstruck, take it up with me for the time being. I know most of us stocked on things at the planet but if there's anything that you need, just send a word over, we'll see what we can do.

[ that's it for this subject. no, he doesn't want to explain why he's stepping up to the active role of a ship captain, thank you very much.

Maybe something from the garden. I have a lot and I haven't planted anything new yet.

That would work perfectly! As long as I have equal amount of dirt for whatever sand you need.

[ it's been a few rough hours but in their wake, when it's Hermione, steve finds it in himself to smile. it's small but it's there and it's genuine. ]

Come over when you have the time, have some tea. We could deal with the - transfiguration [ such an intriguing concept! ], afterwards.

[ and she looks like she might need company and steve knows he needs some. it seems that the timing, however unfavorable, works just fine for them. ]

[ Hermione is more than ready to go and make herself useful, and she's quick to grab her things and make her way over to the ship. As promised, she messages Steve as soon as she docks, grabbing her bag and getting ready to head out. ]

[ it's been one thing after another for everyone as of late but at the end of the day, steve finds that he's comfortable seeking company. it rather depends on who that company is, of course.

hermione is different than most people. maybe it's the book, maybe it's the fact she doesn't ask too many questions. it's an oddity, but steve almost feels as if she understands without him having to explain anything.

odd, but comforting. ]

[ first thing first, he takes her bag. some old habits never die, it would seem. ]

[ Hermione already knows the answers to some of her questions, and she doesn't push. If Steve wants to talk to her then he will; she's happy to wait as long as it takes for them to open up to one another.

She raises her brows as he takes the bag, though, fighting her smile. ]

You're treating me to a drink on my own ship?

[ he's both astonished and fond. indeed, it makes him chuckle before dipping his chin. times like these, one can almost see the boy from brooklyn. ]

that will be nice. we have some snacks from the planet. we've been stocking up on those.

[ he leads her to a kitchen that it's in the process of being re-organized. new jars, new tins, new labels. ]

I figured it'll be a little nicer that way.

[ that, and he needed something to do. ]

I would have brought flowers, but I only grow herbs and vegetables.

[ She grins, almost a little cheeky, even as she shakes her head. ]

I thought it was the polite things to do. I'll start it?

[ It's easy to start bustling around a little. ]

I thought about growing flowers but someone told me vegetables are more useful.

[ peggy an she was probably right. ]

Please, go ahead. Cake? the planet has all sorts of things.

[ and there are the books, a whole pile of them on a chair by the counter. he gestures at them. ]

[ Growing their own is a bit of a necessity, she thinks. ]

You have cake, really?

[ She starts to make the tea, setting out two cups before she wanders over to the books. ]

I didn't realise you had so many!

There was a lot to buy on that planet and I got a lot of credits lately for some reason.

[ some reason he says though he knows it probably has something to do with his stubborn attempts to convince peggy to marry him. still, one has to use what one has. ]

I stocked up on as many as I could. it's been a while since we had a chance to get new ones.

[ he takes out two plates and a simple looking cake. it's no cheesecake factory but it serves its purpose. ]

I can appreciate that. Sometimes it's a little scary, waking up with lots more money than the night before.

[ Because sometimes she forgets that she's being watched, and then the credits remind her, time and time again. ]

They're all wonderful. I haven't been able to read anything new in weeks, it's been awful.

I've been reading the same ones over and over lately. It's been good too, lets you find out things you haven't noticed before.

[ it's a silver lining and steve had made a career of looking for those. it's a good habit for someone who keeps finding himself in different times and different worlds. ]

But all of these are pretty good, I thought you might enjoy them.

That is one of the perks, I suppose. I think I'm getting close to memorise everything.

[ And Hermione is always happy to literally stick her nose in any book she can get her hands on. ]
