I'm back.  I don't suppose there's any good news?

[Short and sweet.  She already caught up on all the disaster shenanigans afoot.

If you want to catch her in person at all, she'll be either:

 

a) on the Bloodsport going through the network entries and being in a generally shitty mood;
b) at the Space Bar taking inventory and catching up on business;
c) organising and purchasing new supplies planetside for the bar like nothing is wrong; or
d) taking her waver out to sea at various points, for scouting and her own peace of mind.

Or wild card me up.  Take your pick.

Actually, she does come back to the network the next day.  She skimmed far enough to look at the dreams, and nearly lost the reference to Eleven's post.  Sister.  Waking up.

[She is definitely not going to turn down assistance with bar supplies. The reflexive smile she turns on him at the familiar voice falters briefly into surprise at the extra passenger he has, and then she just looks amused.]

You sure you can manage without upsetting your copilot?

[A warm grin as Remy shrugged his unoccupied shoulder,] I think he'll be ok up there. [Before turning to the cat.] That right, hein? [Only to be answered by the cat butting it's head against his, rubbing it's face against Remy's forehead and temple.] See? All good.

Managed to sort out 'ny decent local delicacies?

I did, actually. There's a local drink roundabouts that kind of tastes like honey and cinnamon in a hard-liquor kind of way. I'm warned it packs a punch. [Just the kind of stuff she likes.]

I've got a couple barrels set to be loaded on the shuttle. If you'd help me shuffle them up on board, that'd be great.

Oh yeah? [Remy took a few moments to consider that, already trying to figure out how to work it into new recipes and what he could create out of that, giving a slow nod to show he was still semi listening to what she was saying at least.] Ya sayin' we can water it down 'nd get away with it 'cause no one would notice then? [A grin crossing his face again as he raised a hand to scratch the top of Lucifer's head.

It dropped again as he gave her a half-hearted salute.] Sure thing, boss.

We can. We probably will. [Blatantly. All with an air of complete innocence. She gives him a little come-hither wave, heading off dockwards.]

So I gotta ask. Where'd you get the cat?

[cajunspice]

[Remy trailed along side her, letting her lead their way to wherever the stock was.] Ahh, guess ya haven't actually met them, had ya? [It made sense, Remy didn't bring the cats to work, that was hardly hygienic.] I picked up three lil' runts 'while back now, before I vanish. Remember that planet with the different Guilds on it, they had one that specialized in animals, got two others on the ship. This one be Lucifer.

Lucifer, huh? [What a name. Hopefully Sam never gets to meet this particular cat.] I'm almost afraid to ask what the other two are called.

[But she also didn't peg Remy as such a cat lover. Which is kind of cute.]

They a bit more mundane, Oliver 'nd Figaro. Will bring them 'round when I ain't in the kitchen sometime, though not like we really got health 'nspectors to worry 'bout 'round the ships, hein?

Well, which ship are you on these days? I could always come say hi.

Back on the Wonderduck but thinkin' of switchin' out, not quite the same as when I left. [In the case that all the crew had changed while he was away.] Thinkin' of headin' over to the Twin Roses, with Kitty 'nd Kurt there. [There was a shrug of a shoulder to go with it, as if down playing the move. It felt a little too much like being part of the Brady Bunch that was the X-Men, moving all into the same area, but at the same time it was nice to be around his own kind and those that knew him... and 'him' from their universe.]

[...huh. That nets him a curious look, actually, because she knows the kind of world Kitty comes from and it sucks. And she knows Kurt is... also from a different place. Not the Kurt she used to know.]

You guys from the same place?

[cajunspice]

No no, nothin' like that, [As a mess his world could be for mutants at times it was nothing compared to what he had heard about Kitty and Kurt's world.] Though seems there some similarities, they had version of m'self in their world, 'nd I know of younger versions of them from mine. Gets a bit confusin' 'nd far 'bove my 'nderstandin' of the universe, or universes.

Ah. Yeah, that happens. [Which-- what a thing to rattle off. She's getting too used to these stupid places.]

I met Kurt before, from the other place, so I wondered. It makes me wonder if there's half a dozen Namis out there, to be honest.

[cajunspice]

Don't it just? [Yep, just another normal day of multiple universes and duplicates of individuals. The normal.]

So far all the Kurt's 've run 'nto be pretty good kids, or not so much kids in this case, [Since Remy was pretty sure Darkholme had a few years on him with ease.] Though tend to get themselves 'nto trouble. [Before there was a grin.] Maybe why I like them.

Ya too, for that case. [Yeah, even if he didn't know Nami was a pirate, he could tell she was the type that tend to head face first into trouble.]

Hey, I only get into trouble because I fall in with the wrong crowd. You can bet I'll usually be the first to use my head! [Huff. But she grins. Shamelessly.] It's my prerogative as a coward.

[cajunspice]

Really? 'Cause could say there's two types, those that get in trouble for not thinkin', 'nd those that do because of thinkin'. [Yeah, don't think he doesn't see through that Nami, someone as onto it as she is doesn't stick around 'the wrong crowd' that long unless they loved it.] Think I know which one ya fall under.

There's a third type, you know. The kind that gets in trouble because no matter how smart she thinks, her best friends are the types that are complete morons.

[She loves the wrong crowd, not necessarily the trouble said wrong crowd gets into.]

... I donno how to take that, bein' one of those 'complete morons'. [Despite his words Remy had a bright grin in place, he well knew what he was like and had a tendency to just enjoy the moment than think too much of the consequences of the future.] Or maybe this all part of it, hein, usin' people like m'self to drag ya 'nto trouble. [Not that he actually had so far.]

Nope. Never. The less trouble, the better. [Which isn't to say Nami won't throw herself headfirst into the right situation. Like if a kid or a country was in trouble, or, y'know, someone left a diamond just sitting out in the middle of nowhere.

...okay yes, she's done some very interesting things in the name of profit. BUT.] I'm just the kind of girl who can't turn her back on her friends. Or money. But if they drag me into trouble as a result, you can bet I'm gonna punch them for it later.

[cajunspice]

[That silly grin softened off to a smile as Remy raised a hand to pet the back of his cat from it's perch on his shoulder.] Can 'ppreciate that, cherie, really can. [More so on the friends side, the money side wasn't as big an issue, having lived with both having none and an over abundance of it in his life.] Or expect 'ny less for draggin' ya 'nto such trouble. [That he also knew well, normally on the receiving end of said punch or hit.]

Not findin' runnin' the bar a bit too slow a pace to that of home then? It's nice to work off the energy, but a bit lower key than what I would prefer. Though, it is nice to cook for a crowd.

[Nami has some mighty interesting hangups with money. Comes from being extorted for millions at the age of ten.]

It is a bit slower, I guess. But the Fleet finds ways to keep us on our toes, doesn't it? All in all, it's a little better than the last place I was stuck at, so I'll take the opportunity to take a breather while I can.

[And by all reports, things are about to get nasty anyway, so she's definitely up for enjoying the peace and quiet.]

Yeah, it's different but oui, ain't a lack of things to do. [Even between planets thanks to his work at her bar, it certainly helped to curb some of his energies.] 'nd while I miss home, can't really 'magine goin' back now after this all. Hell, other than those who use to goin' through space, how often goin' to get to do this, hein? Guess that ain't a bad trade off.

I can't say I feel the same, but I don't blame you. [She smiles wistfully.] I'm too wedded to the sea, I guess. And my original crew-- they can't get anywhere without me, I swear.

But up here isn't all bad. I just don't want to be here forever.
