[Vash hadn't even fully landed yet to offload the passengers he had picked up from Kurt before he had his communicator out and tried to hail Kurt again. only he wasn't he wasn't answering.

With a soft damn it, Kurt. Vash tries to take his shuttle back out again. Ignoring all the desperate pleads for him to stay. In the end it doesn't matter and deep down Vash knew it. He gets himself out of the blast radius just as the planet is hit. He doesn't know to be upset or really angry. So this is how the insurance girls usually feel.

Damn it! He said he could teleport back!]

[Back on the station, after doing a search of the place, and checking in with the rest of his crew first he sends out a sombre message.]

Has anyone seen Kurt Darkholme?

[And then again after the shuffle and he can't find his newest crew member.]

Has anyone seen Remy LeBeau anywhere?

[Being a captain sucks sometimes. Kitty was not going to have a very happy wake up call...]

Yeah, I think I helped pick up his last group of- [Survivors.] -evacuees. He was going to look for more because he said he could teleport back to the station without any problems.

I suppose I'm hoping he's fallen asleep somewhere. [Although the heavy doubt is clear in Vash's voice.]

Peggy's missing two -- Shouta Aizawa and Max Rockatansky. Furiosa's missing, too... Those are the ones I'm aware of right now, along with Remy and Kurt. Looma... we have evidence that she didn't make it.

...that is to say, in his hunting, he won't come across Remy or Kurt. But he might find a Nami leaning against a door, staring inwards at a room which, from the outside, seems like all the sprinklers have been switched on, though there are no alarms. She knows both Kurt and Remy; maybe she can help.

(Spoilers: she can't.)]

[Initially Vash had been walking up to ask Nami if she's seen his missing crew, but gets distracted by the water from the ceiling.

Instead he asks about that first as water is going to become VERY important around here now. He also deep down knows she likely will not be able to help him in his quest.]

Are the sprinklers not working?

[Closer inspection will both solve the mystery and raise more questions-- or not, actually, as Vash knows she has a weather staff already from their temple digging. The room itself looks like storage, metal doors on the ground slid most of the way back to reveal a dark canal area for water that's about three quarters full. And the ceiling is full of rain clouds, pouring in more.

She steps back as he approaches, but doesn't bother answering the question. He's smart. The room tells its story. Just smiles tiredly in greeting.]

Hey.

[Vash's eyes dart from the clouds above to the open doors below. He nods and gives a small smile.] Hey there. Good idea.

[And it really was. Only that's not why Vash was here right now.] You haven't seen Kurt around here, have you? Or Remy?

[Asked as if he already knows the answer she will give.]

[By the way her face falls? She smooths it blank a moment later, but--]

No. No, I haven't. They're not checking in?

No, not yet. [His smile is empty and hallowed. He knows this search will end in failure but he just doesn't know how to live without hope.] Kurt was working pretty hard. He may just be sleeping somewhere.

I'll hope. [But she says it dully, because some things you just already know.]

[As really he should be doing more helpful things then looking for two people he's not honesty expecting to find at this point.]

[There's nothing that says he can't combine the two. Nobody can use the climatact other than Nami, but it's not like it's backbreaking work. She considers.]

While you're looking, keep an eye out for people worried about water levels. It's okay to tell them where they can find me.
