Recipe #002 - Waking Up
Who: Ignis Scientia
Broadcast: Yes
Action: Ignis' room, First Breath
When: October 1st
Action - Ignis' Room, First Breath
[Falling asleep was easy. Exhaustion had played such a huge part of things when Ignis's head had touched his pillow that night after watching the meteor strike Lyuku. Waking up, on the other hand, is difficult. Everything feels stiff and he's not sure that he really wants to face it. Suddenly, he understands how Noctis has felt on more than one occasion.
A sound to his left catches his attention and he turns his head in that direction, pulling on the scar tissue around his left eye, nose and forehead.]
The Six take me... Gladio, is that you?
[No, this isn't Zegnatus. No bed in the dread fortress was this...comfortable isn't the world. Familiar. This bed is familiar, but not the bed he had in Insomnia. It takes a minute as he attempts to open his sightless eyes out of habit.]
Noct? Prompto?
Video
[Blind men can't see buttons to make it audio only, so take in his nifty scars. It seems the Atroma have taken his sunglasses.]
I feel I must apologize to anyone who has been worried about me since the excitement with the inhabitants of Lyuku. I appear to have gone back to Eos for a short period of time.
You may find me on the First Breath should you wish to talk in person.

It's poppycock. He's blind, not broken.]
From what I understand, these sort of long sleeps appear to be rather commonplace. At least that's what Hermione tells me. As for how I feel, that is a loaded question. I've been worse, I suppose.
[That's as straightforward an answer he can muster.]
Yes, Velvet told me that all of his things are missing from the Red Fish. I conveyed that message to Prompto and Noctis both, but it was rather busy soon after with the former system.

I have heard stories of others sleeping like that as well and waking up having come from a different timeline. [ Which is strange, and in this situation, very unfortunate for her friend. ] Other than the obvious, are you injured anywhere? I can heal your wounds.
[ She doesn't know if she can heal his eyes, but wounds she can do. Granted, the ones that she can see look to be fairly healed already. But still, if he's injured anywhere else, she can at least do what she can for those injuries. ]
Yes, the last system was... something else. Let us pray that is the end of our troubles for right now. [ Little do they know, of course. ]

No, physically I am fine besides the obvious, milady. I appreciate your concern. The only thing I'm suffering from is stiffness that comes from laying around for so long with no activity.
[At this point, there's nothing to do. Except move on. Something that the others will have to adjust to as well.]
Prompto told me that we lost members of our crew. I can only assume that the other ships suffered similar fates because of all the activity. Have they returned yet?
no subject
Good, I am glad to hear that. Stiffness, though? Well, if you are feeling up to stretching a little, we should take a little stroll.
[ It can be used as practice to get used to the layout of the ship, at least. And she'll be here to help him maneuver should he need it. ]
We did. As of right now I am the only communications officer... no one has returned yet to my knowledge.
no subject
I would appreciate that. I suppose that now is as good a time as any to get used to the layout of the ship as best I can. It's not as if I can magically wish myself back on Eos.
[Not so soon after his sudden return trip home.]
So, Yuan is truly missing.
[That is saddening. He'd liked the half-elf man a great deal, especially their discussions about magic and the similar names for different things on their respective worlds.]

All she had wanted was for Noctis and his friends to remain safe and relatively unharmed, and that just wasn't in the cards. It's a sickening feeling, to say the least. ]
I agree. I don't think it will take you long, though... and we will be with you every step of the way. [ We as in she, Noctis, and Prompto, but he must already know that. Except today he is stuck with her as a walking buddy. She stands up and keeps a careful eye on him. Something catches her eye -- his walking stick. She picks it up and gently places it into his hands. ]
He is... but one never knows. Perhaps he will return some day. It's quite lonely in communications now.
[ Luna herself hadn't really gotten too much of a chance to get to know him. They shared duties in communications, but admittedly she's spent a good portion of her off time with Noctis, a habit she should... probably try to break a little. ]
no subject
No, I doubt it will take me long to readjust. I've always been...adaptable.
[He gladly accepts the walking stick and holds out his arm for her to take. Always the gentleman.]
I don't know that I want him to return here. While it is true that he will be missed by those still here, he had friends on his own world that he must look after.
no subject
You've not been given much choice considering just whom you were looking after... he's told me all of the times you covered for him, you know. He has told me that he would sneak out of the Citadel and you would come with him and then take the blame. You are a sweet, sweet man, Ignis.
[ A sweet, sweet man who is very good at coming up with stories and plans and tactics on the fly. She gently loops her arm through his, humming in agreement. ]
I hope that he is able to remain with them as well, and that he leads a long, happy life with them.
