Some mornings are not as good as others
Who: Maglor and Daeron and YOU
Broadcast: Yes
Action: anyone on the Huntress who wants to laugh at them
When: Now!
The video opens with a crash, the communicator knocked to the floor. It's someone's private room - a musician, if the flute that tumbled to the floor by the communicator is any judge. There's no cry, no scream - the owner of the flute is far too wary for that - but the harsh breathing sounds of someone beginning to have a panic attack are audible.
Just at that moment, the door opens, and feet step into view, followed by Maglor's worried hiss and then frantic scramble towards the bed and it's occupant.
"Daeron, Daeron, it's me, it's alright, you're safe. Wake up, it's alri... ai!"
And that would be Maglor tripping over the flute, faceplanting in front of the the communicator.
There's a moment stunned silence, and then the flute's owner from earlier begins to laugh, and Daeron, rubbing sleep from his eyes, bends to pick up his flute and give Maglor a hand up. And snag his communicator.

I don't know why you both fell asleep, but I didn't like it.
(Action)
People do, here. It seems to be a thing - Vash is asleep, Kitty told me. She's only just woken, and Jim too.

We could go out instead, Nelyo - we're fine, really!

The smile he sends Maedhros is a bit crooked. It's impossible even for him to stay huddled within himself with these two.]
We can walk. [Despite Maglor's rather spectacular fall, of course~]

You say that after he nearly cracks his head open? (Sighing at the pair - it feels like he has two baby brothers again - he sits down by Daeron.) Taunts aside, how are you feeling?
no subject
I did not!
[ Maglor sulks, reclaiming his spot on the floor by Daeron's bed ]

But he does look at Maglor again, double checking the other elf wasn't actually hurt with an almost absent and gentle brush of hand over dark hair when Maglor sits back by his feet.]
But he did not. If he were hurt, I would make sure he gets the healing he needs. [....and has, actually. He ducks his head, somewhat shyly.]
...Better. Are you well?

(And since he is watching his brother so carefully, he does not miss Daeron's touch. Interesting. Maedhros directs his blue gaze onto the younger Bard, curious.)
Thank you for caring for him. (His lips twitch, almost smiling.) I did not fall asleep.
(His amusement wanes.) I almost wish I had.

I am still here and can speak for myself. [ He says archly ] I think I'd know, Nelyo. I've had worse than that before!
[ He sobers as Maedhros does ] I'm sorry, brother. To have to watch... [ But... but, but, but, if he slept then Maedhros stayed by his side, and Fingon with him, and so his family are safe, and not one of those too valiant to leave. He can be grateful for that, but he won't say anything. ]

We have all had worse. He will be fine.
[Daeron frowns, unconsciously shifting a leg enough to lean it against Maglor in silent reassurance.]
...You watched over Maglor. Is that not enough a comfort? You kept him from harm when he could not.
no subject
Shhh you're not making any sense. (He has to tease his Kano a little.)
To see a world end is not an easy sight. (Definitely sobering. Maedhros blinks at Daeron.) Comfort? My brother is safe and awake - I could only assure one of those - but I cannot say the same for those who called that planet home.
no subject
There is nothing wrong with my sense.
You are here. Finno is here. Daeron is here. [ Maglor closes his eyes and is grateful that they are too far away to hear the planet mourn ]
That is enough for me. A small joy in the greater.

Daeron feels suddenly cold, and tries to fight a shiver at the thought of a planet's death, and just tries to focus on the present and immediate company.]
...Sometimes thinking small is the only way to keep going forward.
no subject
You have more of it than I do, that is true.
(He glances at Daeron, sobered by the quiet words.)
We used to do that daily, didn't we, Kano? The next step, the next morning, the next evening...
We had naught else to keep our minds occupied and at some peace.

I rememberer. It was too hard to look too far ahead.
[ he responds to Daeron's distress by pressing back, starting to hum softly in comfort ]
