Ice Rink Baby!!
It had been days. He'd tried to calm himself down but it was hard. Yuri kept seeing Lyuku in his mind. He just remembered the people. The fights, the tears, woeful goodbyes between loved ones who thought this was the end. Sure, they had a happy ending but it just stayed with him. He'd never been a part of a mass panic like that and... it was hard to move on. He lost a crewmember to the evacuation. How can he just let that go? He tried to stay busy but that proved difficult when he didn't have a real job around Twin Roses... he just... was there. The token useless guy. He tried to find comfort with Victor or even just a distraction but.... it was hard to be in the mood when he was this preoccupied. He was curled up in Victor's bed staring at the ornament they bought that day. It was one of just a handful now... it was priceless... the Lyuku space station could probably use that more than they could now, it was a piece of their culture. He cuddled a pillow in silence, yearning for it to be Makachin... or just for the rush of skating. Even just to skate a few laps.... he felt antsy like he was trapped in a cage. He was. They both were. "Victor... what would it take to make a rink? I mean it this time. We need it. I can't... stand this any longer."
Victor had felt pretty shaken himself. There was too much to think about when it came to the utter destruction of an entire planet. They had been able to save so many, but not everyone. It was difficult to keep up his cheer, absent minded persona when such a terrible thing had happened. And then there was Yuri - kind, sweet, emotional Yuri. All Victor wanted to do what share the burden of this with his love. When Yuri spoke he took a moment to think over the answer. He had asked people about opening a business here before, but all of the experiences had been restaurants and bars. Still, there were amazing things on the Iskaulit. Things that had to have been much harder to create than an ice rink. "I think the first thing we'd need is help. We'd have to reach out to others here," he said it thoughtfully but even as he spoke he couldn't help the desire that washed over him. He missed the ice. He missed being in his skates. He needed it just as much as Yuri did. "Did you want to use the network and ask?" he suggested, pushing himself up a bit to look at Yuri's face.
Yuri looked up from the pillow. He knew what Victor was getting at but he was..... actually he didn't feel hesitant. He just felt the need to be on the ice. He might actually be able to do it. Even though asking for help was horrifying. He fished for his glasses and then his communicator. "Okay.... okay.... just.... ask people? Ask everyone?" he had to pull all his courage together. He had to remember his press conference. His interviews... he can do this. Skating is amazing, people will love it. "Ah... should I start?" he just pressed record and scooted over to Victor so they were both in the shot.
"Hello everyone! Ah... you may know us, I'm Victor and this is Yuri-- AH no no I'M YURI! THIS is Victor! Ah... ok breathe... well we want to.... to tell you that we both are competitive figure skaters at home and we really want to open up a rink here in the fleet. We'd love to share the fun of ice skating with everybody but it's not easy to make a whole rink. We need you... so ah... anybody who has ideas.... give us a message. We'll brainstorm together!" he laughed nervously and cut the message off.
Victor pushed himself up and wrapped his arm around Yuri so that he could peer over his shoulder and watch the message being made. "Bravo!" he commented, and turned his head to the side so he could kiss Yuri's cheek and ear. Then, he pulled away again so he could grab his own communicator. "Now's the time to see the responses and reply! Before too long, we'll both be back out on the ice." He sighed dreamily. "I can't wait for you to show everyone here what you can do."
[ooc: You can reply to Victor OR Yuri OR both! Just designate which one you want in the subject of your comment!]

Either Or-!
Hey. So I've never built an ice rink before, but it's just engineering at its heart and that's what I do. So if you need the help, I'm in.

Most rinks are 30 meters by 60 meters, and we also need space for things around it. Most rinks have stands, though we could go with a smaller amount than an arena. There also needs to be an area to take off your skate guards, lockers to change, perhaps storage for any skates we're able to hunt down or make? Yuri and I both have our own, but they are custom made to fit us. If we were to have other people there, we'd need to find skates they can use too.

Either!
SOKKKAAAAAAA if only we had Katara, this would be simple.
We can use all the help we can get. An ice rink is huge, it won't be an easy feat.
sorry Yuri, you got the sibling who can't bend water
It won't, but it'll be something for everyone to enjoy. People could learn a new skill and everything. Give them something fun for a change.
S'cool, that's less intimidating to him anyway. He feels so... normal and boring here. U__U
And that's what I'm thinking now. We did a great job with Lyuku but... it's hard to get it out of my head. Skating was always my escape and maybe with a rink other people can use it for that too.
aww it's all cool

Wait-- MAGIC??
[Yuri grabs the communicator so he can look into the screen too.]
That's... that'd be perfect I think.

Sure, I can fill however big a place you need. Pond-size, right? For skating?
[He doesn't know what "figure" skating is, but he at least knows ice skating.]

I can use ice magic so I could help with that.

Khadgar... you... You're amazing!. That's perfect! It would make the logistics of a rink so much simpler, but would that be terribly hard for you to do? I don't want you to stress yourself too much, now.
no subject
I don't know about amazing. And don't worry too much about me, I've done a few things harder than this, I think. I'm just glad to be able to help.

Do you mind if I ask how your magic works? I would want to know how long the ice lasts or if it's just normal ice?
no subject
I draw mana from inside of myself to use my magic. Once I make ice or fire, it'll works just like it normally would. So, as long as the conditions are right, the ice will be around as long as you want.

Hi, Yuri. Hi, the much talked about but never met, Victor.
I'm an engineer if you need another volunteer. [She wouldn't hate an ice skating rink. Iceman used to freeze spots sometimes. When there was downtime. The fun was always brief and fleeting and interlocked with horrors, but she'll take the nice memories where she can get them.]

[He blushes. And gently introduces them.]
Kitty... hello, this is my fiance, Victor... Victor this is one my captains, Kitty, the one I told you about, she was asleep?
And yes! We need as much help as we can get if I'm being honest. It's not easy to run a rink but I think it would be beneficial to people. Plus Victor and I can teach other people to skate if they want!
