Who: Megaman and you
Broadcast: Fleetwide all the way
Action: Marsiva newbie!
When: anytime from now to next shuffle probably
[The feed pops on to...wow that sure is an aggressive amount of blue. Yes, have a kid here, decked out helmet and all, sitting with arms folded on a tabletop and peering into the camera with all the dead serious composure he can currently muster. (Alright so maybe there's a bit of nervous fidgeting going on too but. Don't mind that. No fidgeting here. Yes.)]
Right, now I've got this on...this is on, right? [A hand half-raises, ready to reach and adjust, but then he thinks better of it and abruptly folds arms tight again. Looking a bit as if he's suddenly swallowed a large balloon and is trying (and failing) to be cheerful about it:] Uh, yeah, hello there! I think this should be a public broadcast? I'm sorry to take up any time, but I've just got a couple of questions. I'm pretty new to the area here, and...well, this--this definitely isn't the Net, is it?
[Fidgeting intensifies.]
But I'm still a bit foggy on the details, I mean...I figure I'd remember being uploaded to a robot like this. And I don't, so this is a bit--is this common practice here? And, speaking of uploading, actually...
[At this point it seems he can't help himself, and a hand goes up to rub at something on the back of his neck, a definite frown creeping onto the boy's features now.] I think there's--I've got something installed here. Which I don't remember either, and it's kind of nice to get a heads-up on something like that, you know? Unauthorized installs aren't very-- [sliiightest grimace] --courteous. I think there might have been a mix-up, too, I'm not really coded for engineering...? So I was wondering, who do I go to if I want to get this uninstalled?
[A pause, a deep breath, and he straightens--tries his best for a properly polite smile, though it comes across more nervous and strained than anything.]
Yeah, that's all! Thank you very much, in advance...I'd really appreciate any kind of helping hand here.

You were uploaded into a robot?
[Given her expression, that might answer his question.]
no subject
Um, yeah, I'm...pretty sure it's a robot? [He leans back a bit where he's seated, rubbing uncertainly at an arm with a gloved hand. It doesn't feel too different, either, but...] I can't be a human right now, anyway, that'd be--crazy. Humans are also really warm, last I checked. And I'm really cold? [These are Totally Scientific deductions. An awkward beat, and he blinks at the feed.] I mean, this is the real world, right? And you're a human?
[Like ok she does look pretty human but at this point HE JUST...HAS TO DOUBLE-CHECK THESE THINGS.....]
no subject
I'm sorry, it caught me a little off guard. I've never heard of that happening. [Not outside of sci-fi movies and whatnot, anyway.]
As far as you being cold, well, I know I woke up a little cold when I got here. Like a chill I couldn't shake off for awhile. But, I've never been a robot, so I'm not sure how could they usually run.
[She nods at his last question.]
Mmhmm. We're in space, in a fleet of spaceships. Apparently we're on a television show.
no subject
[wait what]
--Space? Like, outer space? But... [Glance slides offscreen--because yes, he'd definitely spotted those bay windows earlier, and they're still within perfect view again, but...] Wait, what kind of television show are we talking about here? --In space?
no subject
If it's okay to ask, what were you, exactly, before you came here? What's the Net?
[But she's not the only flummoxed, it seems. She nods again.]
Yeah. I'm not sure what kind, exactly. I don't know how people are watching or where there are even cameras, but people watch us for entertainment. The last announcement I heard said something about "the worlds are watching". I just got here about a week ago myself, so I'm still learning things, too.
no subject
...So this is some kind of space television show. Worlds are--multiple worlds? [He draws up, almost a bit indignant now.] So it's like, we've been kidnapped by aliens for entertainment? [That--also sounds like a really lame show on tv, go figure, but no...if that really is space out the windows, and this isn't some elaborate setup, which Megaman has a sinking feeling isn't...] But I don't have time to be in space! I still have things I need to do on Earth, and--my friends--
[Okay, no, now he's just getting himself upset and confused all over again. With some visible effort Megaman forces himself to deflate somewhat, leaning onto the table a bit and frowning into the feed.]
...Is there any way to contact people back home? --But I guess I'm getting a bit ahead of myself here...especially if you're pretty new too. [Deflating a bit further now.] Sorry about all the questions...
no subject
Pretty much, unfortunately. There's no way to contact our homes, as far as anyone knows. [Not that she's asked, but it seems to be the obvious case. Otherwise, she's sure someone would have mounted a rescue mission by now.] I'm sorry. It's a lot to take in, isn't it?

voice;
This place doesn't even remotely resemble a net.
[Kids.]
What exactly is a robot?
permavid tbh
At the first remark, though, he does make a small and tired sound of agreement.]
Yeah, it really doesn't, it's weird...it's got a lot of--textures... [Nam flashbacks to the bed earlier honestly, he's going to have to re-examine that blanket later because individual threads really...oh wait--] Oh, a robot? A robot's a machine. Usually they're designed to carry out complex by actions by themselves, and have a power source or something similar. But-- [aaand abruptly cutting dictionary stint short because ah hold on] --wait, you've never seen a robot before?
no subject
[But now that he knows what it is, his interest is waning. Much more piqued by the boy's inquisitiveness than his existential questions of being.] Name me one texture you've never felt before.
[He could simply ask about the whole texture business but where's the fun in that?]
no subject
But Mattias seems to have no interest in this, as becomes immediately obvious. To Megaman the question is pretty out of left-field, and he blinks--still too much in accommodating stranger-in-a-strange-place mode to be overtly offended about this topic switch just yet--]
--Textures? Well, I don't know, a--a lot of them? I bet a lot of them are out there. Here. ...I guess the blankets back there were kind of weird? People don't usually bother a lot with fabric in the cyber world.... [Wait why is he rolling with this what is even the point of this oh my god--] Uh, why do you ask...?
no subject
no subject
srsly mattias pls--but there's yet another question anyway, and--well, fine, if he doesn't know that...it's a slightly hesitant pause, but eventually:]
But yeah, the cyber world is where I come from! It's kind of--ah-- [wait shit how do you actually explain this, he's never had to...he pauses, and then gestures slightly at the screen in general] --like, you know that comm you're using right now, to talk to me? Usually I live in things like that! I'm a NetNavi, a computer program. The cyber world is the world inside of those kinds of devices.
[oh boy let's see how well this goes over]

Time to investigate. And completely ignore all the words he decides to say. Those aren't terribly important as far as she's concerned. Finding the person is more important. Particularly because she's never seen a person that looks quite like that before.
She wants to know if his insides feel like flesh or wires. Inquiring minds want to know.]
no subject
He does notice movement eventually, though, and glances up to find a stranger approaching; he blinks, and then offers a tentative smile over in her direction--it's a bit less nervous now if only in favor of relief, because this is actually the first person he's spotted in here at all...]
Oh--hey there! Are you from around here? Or...ah, did you just wake up too? [Still sort of getting his bearings here, don't mind him...]
no subject
You know, she's never actually seen a robot before. Like, she's seen the silly people are making, but nothing like him. She didn't actually know things like him existed.
Time to investigate further.
Moving around him in a circle, Jinx reaches one hand out to tap his arm. Does it feel like metal? It looks like it should feel more like plastic, honestly.]
no subject
--And the tap earns a bemused blink on his part, more than anything.]
...Uh, yeah, it's nice to meet you too? [Kind of weird for a greeting--or maybe this is a normal greeting to her? People are already beginning to break the space thing to him, and who knows how many people here aren't even from Earth at all? Who knows how other places work?? Suddenly finding himself wanting to err on the side of caution, Megaman lifts a free hand and...gently pokes her arm back...? Yes surely this is a flawless plan of action.] Not much of a talker, I take it...
[If she were tapping one of his shoulders, that'd certainly be metal--most of the armor pieces are. The sleeved stuff is mostly some kind of spandex material, though. Soft enough on initial contact, sure, though pressing any harder you wouldn't find the same sort of give a squishy normal human arm might have. Almost like it's metal inside instead...and well, that besides, he's certainly not warm at all. Still pretty cold, after the initial arrival chill is said and done.]
no subject
A slight frown creases her face when he pokes her back. As far as Jinx is concerned turnabout is not actually fair play.
Since he poked her, she takes that as permission to phase her hand through one of his, seeing if she passes through a robot any differently than she does a person. It feels a little bit like going through an electricity pole.
She very much doesn't like it. She frowns more deeply while considering that. Taking robots apart would be very unpleasant. She doesn't like this.]
no subject
Er, okay, that's getting kind of awkward. You don't do this to everyone you meet, do you? Might be a bit--
[Or alRIGHT NO APPARENTLY HE DIDN'T SIDLE AWAY NEARLY FAR ENOUGH because that sure is her hand going through one of his about now and that's definitely not normal--jerking his hand away, he's immediately on his feet.]
Whoa, hey, what was that? Take it easy! [Ah--cursory glance, and hand still seems to be fine at least, but really...] You always do that to everyone you meet too?

I dunno! Maybe? I'm pretty new here too. But I mean-- if you're in a body, maybe?
no subject
Maybe... [Rather than comforted, though, Megaman looks mildly disconcerted more than anything.] Man, I almost kind of hope not, though. I'm not sure if I'd want my friends to be put in robots in a place like this too...this all seems really unnecessary. [And what if Lan too--ah no, that wouldn't be good at all. Frowns!!] Hey, did you get here just now or have you been here a bit longer? I don't suppose you'd know if there's a way to check for friends here--like, a database of names or something?

[oh my god ok let's just drop that line entirely--he scratches his jaw with a huffed, awkward laugh]
...Sorry, that probably sounded really bad. Not really on my game today. What's your name? I'm Megaman, and it's--nice to meet you! Despite all...this....
