[Victor has found a good pace for the ice rink on the Iskaulit and he's there now. The space is abandoned and empty, but it should be big enough. It just needs some TLC to make it happen.]

Hello friends.

I ... [And then he does something he doesn't normally do, and hesitates, a bit of the worry he's feeling shows through a downturn of his lips.]

I know everyone has to recover from recent ordeals in their own ways, and I would never want to limit or rush someone through that, but...

I know a thing that will help Yuri recover, and that's if we get the plans for the ice rink underway. I know many of you offered to help. Do you think it would be possible to make the timetable for that sooner than planned?

He does better when he has the ice to focus on. I want to do everything I can to help him feel better - and I can't do that without help.

Any help would be appreciated.

[Victor starts by focusing on cleaning and preparing the space, but he knows he's going to need a lot of help planning how best to turn the space into a rink and gathering materials. He'll be on the Iskaulit all day trying to coordinate it all and talk to anyone who wants to offer help in person.]

[The feed cuts out and Mantis gets to Iskaulit with little in the way of trouble. Six foot two dressed in black is hard to miss and he tries to find his way to the likely spot of the ice skating rink.

His voice rings out with surprising clarity.] Victor? It's Mantis.

[When Victor finally sees Mantis all he can really think is how grateful he is that this was the man protecting Yuri. Honestly, he's gotten used to people looking and dressing differently here, but Mantis could be very intimating if he wanted to be and the thought that someone so formidable was the one who was looking for Yuri means that Yuri was safer than Victor had first imagined when his mind had raced to all of the most horrible scenarios after the Twin Roses crashed.]

Ah! Mantis. It's so nice to meet you! [Victor comes closer to greet Mantis and offers him a smile that is more sincere than many other of Victor's smiles. He honestly can't help but be happy to meet someone who had helped Yuri survive.]

And thank you again for wanting to come here and help. I know once we get this together it will make Yuri's face light up.

[Mantis is downright terrifying when he really gets into it, but he saves that mindset for when he needs it. Putting someone in his protection is a bit like guarding a house with a tiger.

He waves to Victor and gestures to the ship.]

This place is larger than I had thought it would be. Clearly I am spending too much time on Bishop if this seems impressive. More importantly, we have business to take care of. You are obligated to tell us how well Yuri takes to having an ice skating rink in his life once more.

Of course I will, and the rink will be open to all so you can come and see for yourself too.

Have you ever ice skated before?

[He shakes his head, then shrugs his shoulders.]

I never had time to ice skate. My body has always been a bit on the weak side, but I did catch the Winter Olympics several times over the years. It always reminded me of ballet.

In fact, many skaters train in ballet because they're so similar. Yuri's ballet teacher is one of the most supportive women I know.

We would both be happy to teach you, if you wanted to try.

[He looks down at his feet, sweeping one foot forward as he walks.]

It can't be as difficult as it looks. Learning to balance is nothing compared to what you two do professionally. [He nods.] Sure. I need to get off the ship more often anyway.

Don't be discouraged if it takes you a couple of tries to feel comfortable though. It's much harder to take up once your limbs are fully grown, but with enough focus and dedication I believe you could learn.

[He makes a noise of understanding.] That explains a lot about the apparent age of most professionals. Young joints leap a little higher.

Hm-hm. And after a certain age... Well, lets just say that retirement from the sport comes all too soon for some.

[Well, that's one way to get dangerously close to some of his own issues with his life, but he's going to ignore that for now.]

I've heard of different injuries that can happen. It made me feel fortunate that I never showed too much aptitude with that kind of thing. [He looks down at his hands, flexing his fingers.] I got to hone a different set of skills.

[Victor doesn't ask. He knows when people are vague like that, they usually mean something troubling and he doesn't want to pry.]

Injuries can make it difficult. Some, like Yuri, are lucky to not suffer any. It helps him maintain his stamina.

[He'll see soon enough anyway. Mantis is very good at heavy lifting in spite of his lean figure. He turns his head to Victor.]

How very lucky. Well, I get injured on the job too, but this should be relatively harmless construction work. What sort of pieces still need to be moved?

Mainly we're trying to set up the sides so the mages can install the ice.

Building a wall. [He laughs quietly, cracking the knuckles in his fingers.] It can't be that difficult, no matter the material.

[Victor chuckles] Lets get too it then!
