( Sansa has never been in such a situation as this one. She's lived in court, yes, and she's lived as a captive in both King's Landing and in the Vale. She's come to her own home and found it hostile. She's never been in a place where everything is so clean and white as this and one that has strange devices she doesn't understand. She's been acclimated to them somewhat, thanks to an...instructional program (it was a program, that was the word, wasn't it?) but it's still foreign to her. Still, if everything foreign was something she fled from, she'd not be alive today.)

( Once she's had a chance to determine how the video works (a novel concept in and of itself), she arranges her hair neatly and addresses the fleet. Perhaps it's a ship that sails through the stars and not water but a ship is a concept that is not untenable for her at the moment. She's grateful she has on a dark dress of her own design, a dark cloak. The stars are cold, it seems, and the warmth is helpful.)

Greetings, fellow travelers. I am Sansa Stark, lately of Winterfell, and I appear to have become part of your conscripted crew for the time being. I've never been on ships for any long stretch of time and certainly not those that sail through the starry night instead of ploughing the ocean so I beg your indulgence as I acclimate myself.

I welcome any advice you may have for me as I embark on this journey for I fear that I am quite out of my element.

( Sansa adjusts her cloak a bit and smiles toward the device, hoping her face is in focus. Hopefully this has worked correctly.)

I suppose I need to know how best to keep our hosts appeased. I've never been in a situation like this, as you can imagine. I'm not frightened, exactly, but I am quite unsure of myself.

( A slight beat, a bite of her lip. )

It's been a while since I've found myself in a situation like this.

Mmm...they don't exactly smote us or anything. You should be okay just doing whatever you want to do. The most direct reaction you get from them is in how much money you make or don't make through your ratings. If you're more entertaining you get more money and they judge entertainment differently for different people I think.

I've had to play pretend in front of a court before and I've had to pretend to be someone else in order to conceal my identity. I hope I'm able to fool these people into liking me enough to help me earn coin.

( It's something like being a Mummer, she guesses, and Sansa doesn't know if she's going to be good at that. She decides she simply has to be, for better or worse, and hope that her coin comes in sufficient amounts. )

It's rude to ask if you do well at it, isn't it?

Not sure about rude, but it can be a sensitive subject. [She doesn't seem to mind though since she continues.] I made a lot when my boyfriend was still here. Less now. I didn't do any pretending, but if it makes it easier... [She doesn't mean easier to earn wealth. She means easier to deal with the way they are earning it.]

I am sorry for your loss. I didn't mean to pry.

( Sansa is, truly, and she hopes it shows in her bearing and carriage. She doesn't mean to bring up painful memories for anyone but she is curious about how all of this works. )

[She waves her hand as if to dismiss it.] You didn't. I asked if you had questions and answered. The content's not your fault. [And it's not really bringing up painful memories if they never went down, right?]

Well, I thank you for answering all the same. It's helpful for me as I learn how to navigate this place and it came at some personal expense to you.

Don't worry about it. Robb was a friend of mine here. I'm sure he'd want people to look after his family and that he'd do the same for me.

If you were a friend of Robb's, I would be happy to get to know you and hopefully become a friend of yours too.

[Kitty's glad she took the mention of Robb well.] That sounds good. You should meet Seeker sometime too. He was a pet of Robb's he left me when he disappeared.

If he belonged to Robb, I should like to meet him very much.

( Sansa sighs a bit, presses her lips together. She hasn't thought of Robb in a while because the memories are just too painful. She's lost so much and she'd been so close to Robb as a child. She has Jon now and she loves Jon but it's very different. )

I haven't seen my brother in years. I'm envious you had a chance to know him. I would give anything to speak to him again.

I don't want to give you false hope, but people leave and return frequently here. It's possible. Sometimes that hope can hurt more than knowing something for certain even if it's a bad certainty. [She's definitely felt that in her time in these places. Especially now having lost someone she loves.]

( If there's even a small chance she can have her family here, Sansa wants to hold onto it. )

In Westeros, there's not much room for hope. It's a dangerous thing. I won't be too optimistic for fear of hurting myself but there may be room yet for a flicker of hope in the darkness.

That sounds like what I've heard of Westeros all right. I was from a very different place, but it had that in common. Well, that or clinging to hope because that was all that was left.

I am so sorry that your world seems to be as dangerous as mine. ( Sansa longs to comfort her but she cannot, not through this device. )

Have you found peace here in the fleet?

[She nods.] Definitely a little different. I think my world was more straight forward with the dangers. [You know, just a little mass genocide here and there. Way less politics at play.]

It's definitely more peaceful here, but it has it's moments. We all have each other for those at least.
