[Sam Winchester got himself a gift from the Atroma — and he admits, he's really jazzed to see Gracie the tiny tooth fairy once again. She can be seen fluttering about in the background, exploring the area with interest and getting into all his drawers and under his bed and around his book collection — she's always been particularly snoopy, huh. He sits like he's making it a point to take a break from his reading and writing and whatever the hell Sam Winchester writes into his copious amounts of journals; the chair he's sitting in is backwards, his arms resting across the backrest.]

Alright, two things:

One, what'd you get for Christmas.

And two, what's your new years resolution? C'mon. We all gotta have something we're working on this year, right?

Mine's... I mean, the usual — kicking the Atroma in the junk. But I mean more along the lines of a personal thing anyone can focus on.

[A short time later, he speaks again, but this time in text.]

An important thought, though. For those who might be interested in talking about it...

The visions we'd gotten for the singing planet, they weren't just for the one who was getting hit by a meteor.

The dream I'd had was about the cannibal planet, which came along later, so the thing is... there's still one more unaccounted for, isn't there? Didn't we have more than two different dreams? Just kind of worried we're coming up on Shitty Planet Number Three, and after how bad the last two were, I'm worried about the potential for even worse situations. This current planet's been okay, but please... be careful. I just have a bad feeling about this whole visions thing.

[Seeing that Same also got a pet of sorts, Kaname feels the need to reply, even if it's just from the lounge on the same ship. So the video pops on, and she holds her her and Freyja's striped friend from home.]

I got equipment from home, but Freyja received our dorm's pet mercat, Q-Lulu.

[Said mercat tilts his head, causing Kaname to giggle a little.]

[Yay for not being from Earth? Cyril can figure out the basic idea just around the name of the thing, but he isn't sure it makes sense based just on that and wants some context.]

Sam, in the meanwhile, is studying the little mermaid cat creature with earnest interest; he'd ran the bestiary back in Adstringendum, so can you blame him? Odd creatures and supernatural beings are his bread and butter!]

A mercat? Kind of a funny combination, there. I didn't think cats'd like water.

No problem, sure. It's thankfully a little less complicated than other earth holidays, but basically — when a new year starts, everyone's supposed to make a goal they work on throughout the upcoming year. So, you know. If someone wants to try to not smoke as much, or to do better in their relationships, or to collect a million bottles... It can be whatever, but you have to strive to keep to it.

That sort of thing.

I suppose I could understand that - new beginnings and all. But why not do it at the start of spring instead?

[Oh, Sam makes a 'don't say that out loud' face, but it's too late!! Gracie has heard her commentary and is zipping over to the screen, twittering and wagging her little fists in complaint. The motions clearly scream how dare you I'm not a mosquito!! Sam just laughs weakly and pushes her back in the air a little with his palm.]

... Kitty, this is Gracie. She's essentially, uh, a tooth fairy.

But yeah, fair point. I doubt we'll ever be done with Shitty Planets, but the last ones have been especially so. It could be they were just fucking with us, but then they might NOT be.

That's just how our calendar falls, I guess.

Is that what you do back home? Spring holidays?

We have holidays throughout the year, but what I mean is... It's hard to stay motivated in the winter, isn't it? If I were going to make a positive change, I'd want it to start when the ice begins to melt.

Yeah. Whatever the case, it seems the planets genuinely are reaching out for help in some way. People on the fleet have felt it straight from the source, if I recall. Makes me think maybe the planets are all either a hivemind or they interact with each other.

I'd expected to get my vision fufilled on Lyuku. Figures it'd be later.

True enough... I guess that makes it more of a challenge. Not sure if that's a better thing, or a worse thing. Depends on the person I guess. Most resolutions aren't usually fulfilled anyway from experience.

That's a rather unsettling thought. Then again, given how many singing planets we've come across before the whole...prophetic dreams bullshit, I shouldn't be surprised. Maybe the planets really are all sentient and asking our help.

Do you know what the last dream was? Specifically?

She's not from my world, anyway; we had a different tooth fairy.

[Gracie folds her arms, sulking at Kitty. Rude!!]

Okay... Why do you have tooth fairy from another world? Did she get abducted like us? [Does she have a tiny communicator?

Clearly, she and Gracie are going to be best buds any minute.]

Well, it's kind of complicated, but when I got sucked into Adstringendum, I befriended Toothiana there - the tooth fairy for her world. She had a lot of these miniature fairies, which are in a way parts of her. She used them to cover more ground, when they collected teeth back home.

When she left, Gracie was left with me. Maybe... linked closely enough that she didn't vanish, too.

Ever since then, she's been there to boss me around.

I knew a little about Felix's already. Kind of hard to miss when he has a nightmare. But yeah, I reckon those teraformers seem to be big players in this, which means we're going round fixing someone else's mess.

I received something that could be very useful, as it happens...

[He fans a set of slightly oversized deck of cards in front of the camera. They look very old, the colors on the backs faded from a pattern of diamonds in red and black to something closer to sepia and charcoal. He flips it briefly to show various colorful illustrations on the reverse]

...though how remains to be seen. I've been thinking about this since we interrupted their rituals. The previous messages from the planets implored us to help "wake the ones that are sleeping". I wonder if the Vieziri were attempting to do just that. Their goals may have been justified, but their methods were not.
