video

Who: Sorey, Mikleo & y'all!!!
Broadcast: Yes
Action: Selvin-9
When: Early January

[The video starts out jostling and blurry, like some kind of snowed-in Blair Witch project. There’s even screaming- oh no, that’s just excited screaming, and it’s more like breathless squeaks than screams.]

Mikleo- Mikleo! Get it get the- you got it?

I’ve got it. I still think this is ridiculous…

[There’s a jostling movement as the communicator is transferred from one to the other, and for a moment it lingers on a seemingly-empty wolf kigu, its wearer invisible but sounding as unimpressed as the costume’s expression. It’s gone in a flash, and Sorey suddenly darts into view, wearing a goblin kigu, running through the snow with the clumsiness of a person unaccustomed to winter weather, over to a truly ugly snow sled…with wheels.]

Do you see this?! [Sorey seems unable to contain himself, gleeful and giddy, posing in front of the sled with a peace sign in front of a rental shop on the slope.] This is the coolest thing ever- ohhh, I wish we could buy it!

[Sorey suddenly gets closer to the camera, grinning a grin that precludes any rational decision-making.] Hey Keith! I challenge you to a sled race! Or anybody, anybody who’s game! I’ll bet rental fees and hot chocolate that I can beat you!

[There’s a long-suffering sigh - albeit mildly affectionate - from behind the camera. Mikleo’s done this song and dance before, it’s old hat.]

[ MAYBE... A LITTLE... or a lot, but-- ]

... The costumes look rather endearing.

Do sleds normally have wheels like that? [ She's recalled it being different when she read about it... But at the least, it does look like they're having fun. ]

[oh lords he's so glad she changed the subject that fast. he's trying to forget this dumb kigu thing.]

Not that I'm aware of, but I can't say I've seen many sleds in my life. Elysia had a stable climate, so we only ever had snow if we made it ourselves.

I've only seen what the look like in pictures myself. [ She admits. Though, there is something that he says that makes her pause. ]

Did you make snow back at home, Lord Mikleo?
tsunergy: (smile) (i'm working on a new recipe)

A few times, when we were younger. The other water seraphim in the village demonstrated it once, and I demanded they teach me as soon as I was capable of replicating it.

I see. I have no doubts that you and Sorey both were able to have your fair share of playing in the snow back then.
tsunergy: (calm) (it was pretty rare)

Not too often, mind. It was a few years before I was much good at making it, and by then we'd mostly moved on to exploring ruins and learning languages instead. But on especially hot days Sorey would pester me endlessly until I made it snow for a while and cool us down.

... Lord Mikleo, were you unaffected by the hot weather? [ She can't even guess, considering that seraphim are... well... a bit different then humans. ]
tsunergy: (calm)(huh) (i mean you're only human)

[personal profile] tsunergy 2018-01-23 05:58 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I wouldn't say unaffected, exactly... but I'm more resilient than most would be against it, because my body naturally stays cool. Same way the cold doesn't affect me much- it's a perk of my element.

[It's easy to tell just by looking at him- this place isn't as cold as it could be, since the "snow" is just that fluffy stuff, but ice is ice and it's cold enough for it to stay frozen. Even still, he's wearing the same amount of clothing as ever, no coat or extra gloves.]

I see. That does make sense. I'm sure it would be the same for Lady Lailah and fire elements, as well.

[ The more she learns about seraphim, the more amazed she is... ]
tsunergy: (calm) (red berries!)

Yeah, exactly. When we visited the shrine of the Fire Trial, she and I were just fine, despite all the flames and lava everywhere. It's earth that bothers me- I don't really like being underground if I can help it. If I hadn't grown up exploring ruins, I'd probably avoid it entirely.

I see.... Then, I take it that water would be Lady Edna's weakness? ... Ah, but I apologize for all the questions. There's still so much about seraphim that I don't know.
tsunergy: (calm) (you want to talk about sorey?)

[personal profile] tsunergy 2018-02-10 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
It's alright, I don't mind. The cycle of seraph elemental strength goes water to fire, fire to wind, wind to earth, and earth circling back to water again. Edna's stronger against water, not the other way around.
