[The video starts out jostling and blurry, like some kind of snowed-in Blair Witch project. There’s even screaming- oh no, that’s just excited screaming, and it’s more like breathless squeaks than screams.]

Mikleo- Mikleo! Get it get the- you got it?

I’ve got it. I still think this is ridiculous…

[There’s a jostling movement as the communicator is transferred from one to the other, and for a moment it lingers on a seemingly-empty wolf kigu, its wearer invisible but sounding as unimpressed as the costume’s expression. It’s gone in a flash, and Sorey suddenly darts into view, wearing a goblin kigu, running through the snow with the clumsiness of a person unaccustomed to winter weather, over to a truly ugly snow sled…with wheels.]

Do you see this?! [Sorey seems unable to contain himself, gleeful and giddy, posing in front of the sled with a peace sign in front of a rental shop on the slope.] This is the coolest thing ever- ohhh, I wish we could buy it!

[Sorey suddenly gets closer to the camera, grinning a grin that precludes any rational decision-making.] Hey Keith! I challenge you to a sled race! Or anybody, anybody who’s game! I’ll bet rental fees and hot chocolate that I can beat you!

[There’s a long-suffering sigh - albeit mildly affectionate - from behind the camera. Mikleo’s done this song and dance before, it’s old hat.]

[Keith hmph'd and climbed on one of the sleds, moving it over to the starting line. However, before he got there, he took a few extra turns, and some starts and stops to get a feel for it before committing to the race. He might be something of a prodigy when it came to operating moving vehicles, but that didn't mean he was going into this race half-cocked.

He didn't want to owe Sorey a nameless favor...]

[Yeah......yeah, Sorey loses. He loses not HORRIBLY, but definitely soundly; Keith has plenty of time to get off his own sled and brush off his coat by the time Sorey finally makes it down.]

Gah! [Sorey clambers off his sled] Geez, Keith, how do you do that? You're good at like, everything!

[tempredmental]

[Keith chuckled dryly and shook his head, looking away.]

No... not everything. [He shrugged a bit.] Just certain things.

[He was one of the last people who would brag about something. He was all about trash talk, but that usually involved the other person being worse than him, not him being better. And he definitely knew he had shortcomings. Of those, he was almost painfully aware... especially after his failed stint as leader in the Black Lion.]

We could do a best two out of three if you really think you can beat me.

I don't think I could beat you, but I'd like to keep racing! [It's fun and he's good.] You did a lot of this back home, right? With the, uh. [Motions speeder handlebars. That thing]

[tempredmental]

[Keith stared at Sorey's hand gestures for a second, and then it clicked what he meant.]

Oh. [He chuckled a little.] You mean the hoverspeeder you saw during calibrations. Yeah, sort of. It was definitely built for racing. I wasn't a pro or anything, though. It was more of a hobby.

That's okay! I'm an archaeologist by hobby, but that doesn't mean I'm not good at it. [Grins. He knows he's a big ol' nerd.] Calling something a hobby just means you're passionate about it, right?

[tempredmental]

[Keith shrugged a little.]

Yeah... I guess so.

[He nodded back at the track.]

If you still wanna go again, I'm up for it.

Oh heck yeah I wanna go again! [Grabs his dumb ol' sled to drag it back up the hill, he'll do this dumb race like eighty times if you let him] C'mon Keith, last one up buys lunch!

[tempredmental]

[Keith grinned a bit at that, and nodded.]

Alright. Let's do this!

[Keith was definitely going now. And he'd go through the racing quite a few times yet.]
