[O HAI THAR. There was suddenly a small child on the ship. A child that apparently had access to sharp objects that normally belonged to the ship's pilot... and was also a-okay with using them! Or carrying them around, at least. He woke up one morning in the body of a 9-year-old, and he's kind of at that mentality, too. Though, he was aware of things enough that it hadn't been a shock for him to wake up in a strange place. His memories were intact.]

[Keith might not be able to get himself to the planet, but he could get to the Iskaulit! He was stuffing himself on mac and cheese at the Melting Pot, or trying to figure out how he could use the punching bag in the gym without it knocking him over at his tiny size, or he was swimming in the pool. He could sometimes be found in the Lion's Den, Team Voltron's not-so-secret hideout on the ship in an old office near the main area.]

[If he was with an adult, Keith was okay going to the planet's surface. Frankly, he probably could take care of himself, but he didn't want to get potentially all mixed up with any local version of child protective services and end up stuck on the planet in some sort of weird alien foster care system by mistake. So, it was just better and safer to be escorted.

But he was definitely willing to go along with snowball fights and other "kid-like" things. Careful. He was a pretty snarky 9-year-old.]

[As much as he wanted (and planned) to, Lance wasn't with his boyfriend every night. But even then, he'd still often stop by in the morning to say hello and spend a bit of time together. He doesn't bother knocking on the door as he strides into Keith's room, ready for some patented morning snuggles. (A great part of the day.)

What he doesn't expect is to see a nine year old sitting on Keith's bed. He'd about to ask who he is and what he's doing there when he sees his eyes, an unmistakable purple, and looks at his hair as well...]

[Wow... that sounded really whiny.]

Why do you always have to make fun of my hair!

[He somewhat hesitantly approaches him and sits down next to him, poking at his cheek. Is this really Keith? His Keith? This kid?]

[WHY WAS LANCE POKING HIS FACE LIKE THAT?]

Look... I need some clothes, okay? I'm stuck here.

[Yup. Wrapped up in a blanket because Keith's normally clothes were just way too big, and he didn't feel like running around in just a t-shirt and no pants.]

Okay...good point. Clothes. Where the heck are we gonna find kiddie clothes here, though?

I don't know that! You've got clothes on. Go find something!

[His cute little voice squeaked as he said that.]

Ohmygod you're squeaking.

[He's going to squeeze the quiznak out of you soon, Keith. TOO ADORABLE. Lance ponders for a little while; there's always going down to the planet, but that'd take too long. Where else...

He snaps his fingers.]

Let me check storage! Maybe there's a jumpsuit that'll fit you there. You stay right here, okay?

[Fiiiiine. Lance gives his hair a ruffle before heading off to the Huntress' storage area. It takes some digging around, but he finally finds the smallest size available and examines it. It should work for now, he decides, and brings it back to Keith's room.]

Here we go! I, uh, have no idea how long you're gonna be like this... I guess we can pick you up some actual clothing planetside, but this'll do now.

[ACK HAIR RUFFLING QUIZNAKING JERK

Keith glared at Lance's back as he left, and then hunkered down in the blanket with his t-shirt on. It was more like a dress at this point, really, and really loose around the neck. But he was glad to see something more for his current size when Lance returned.

Even if it was one of those stupid standard jumpsuits.]

Yeah... who knows. [More pouting. He took it from Lance and slid out from under the blanket, the bottom of the t-shirt hanging to just below is knees.]

[Cute. Lance resists the urge to take a picture of Keith in his oversized shirt, as adorable as it is, and turns around to give him privacy to change.]

So, you just woke up like this?

[To think Shiro hated the hair problem... this takes the cake. He comes as soon as he can after Lance texted, feeling both worried and angry about this. Quiznaking Atroma, seriously.

It takes him a moment to find Keith and he's... at the gym? Really? Oh, Keith. Some things never change... although he does look cuter like this.]

And what exactly are you trying to do with that punching bag, buddy?

[Kaidan settles down for a nice hot meal after a long day on the surface. He isn't sure what to get, but as he skims the menu his eyes are drawn to a nearby table where Keith is going at his own dinner.]

Slow down there, kiddo, you might hurt yourself. [He's more amused than actually chiding.]

[Good call, Lance. Keith probably would have kicked his ass for that once he was back to normal size... provided he didn't attempt it sooner as a kid.]

Yeah. I don't know what happened.

[It didn't take long for him to change, at least. He climbed back up on the bed once he was finished, sitting close enough to Lance at his shoulder was touching the other's arm.]

I think it's the augment... like what it did to Shiro's hair.

[Keith kicked his legs in annoyance, dangling as they were above the floor.]

At least you remember everything, so, uh, small blessings?

[He gives him a reassuring smile.]

We'll get through this. I mean, it can't last too long. Until then, just no crazy stunts, got it?

[Definitely not. Though, if Keith were actually completely nine years old, he might not actually be at the gym, but he wasn't. He was still himself in his head. It was just his body that had changed, annoyingly enough.

Well, that and his attitude and maturity level, because, at Shiro's question, Keith outright pouted.]

I'm trying to punch it!

[And he did, complete with a little kid grunt. It moved... slightly. He was strong for a kid, but not quite that strong.]

[Keith shrugged a little, trying not to hear "small" as a tease over his predicament.]

Whatever.

[He wasn't making any promises.]

No whatever, Keith. I mean it. You're still you, but you're...well, okay, let's face it, you're bitty right now. You can get hurt a lot more easily than you do normally. So for the sake of your health and my poor heart, promise me you'll behave, okay?

[He's gonna try to make him anyway!]

[Keith gave Lance a massive pout.]

[Well, mostly. He probably was going to need some help reaching stuff in overhead cabinets, but he could still climb!]

[Keith crossed his little arms, glaring at Lance.]

Still! You know I'm gonna worry anyway. Let me just kind of, I don't know, be your guardian for now, okay?

Why do I need a guardian all of a sudden?

[Keith stretched his arms and legs out in front of him. It wasn't very far.]

It's just my body that changed!

Think of it the other way around, Keith. If I turned into a nine year old, would you really want me running around an entire fleet unchecked?

[And Lance behaves better than Keith in most areas!]

[Keith sagged, all four limbs flopping back down rather dramatically.]
