[O HAI THAR. There was suddenly a small child on the ship. A child that apparently had access to sharp objects that normally belonged to the ship's pilot... and was also a-okay with using them! Or carrying them around, at least. He woke up one morning in the body of a 9-year-old, and he's kind of at that mentality, too. Though, he was aware of things enough that it hadn't been a shock for him to wake up in a strange place. His memories were intact.]

[Keith might not be able to get himself to the planet, but he could get to the Iskaulit! He was stuffing himself on mac and cheese at the Melting Pot, or trying to figure out how he could use the punching bag in the gym without it knocking him over at his tiny size, or he was swimming in the pool. He could sometimes be found in the Lion's Den, Team Voltron's not-so-secret hideout on the ship in an old office near the main area.]

[If he was with an adult, Keith was okay going to the planet's surface. Frankly, he probably could take care of himself, but he didn't want to get potentially all mixed up with any local version of child protective services and end up stuck on the planet in some sort of weird alien foster care system by mistake. So, it was just better and safer to be escorted.

But he was definitely willing to go along with snowball fights and other "kid-like" things. Careful. He was a pretty snarky 9-year-old.]

[Cute. Lance resists the urge to take a picture of Keith in his oversized shirt, as adorable as it is, and turns around to give him privacy to change.]

So, you just woke up like this?

[Good call, Lance. Keith probably would have kicked his ass for that once he was back to normal size... provided he didn't attempt it sooner as a kid.]

Yeah. I don't know what happened.

[It didn't take long for him to change, at least. He climbed back up on the bed once he was finished, sitting close enough to Lance at his shoulder was touching the other's arm.]

I think it's the augment... like what it did to Shiro's hair.

[Keith kicked his legs in annoyance, dangling as they were above the floor.]

At least you remember everything, so, uh, small blessings?

[He gives him a reassuring smile.]

We'll get through this. I mean, it can't last too long. Until then, just no crazy stunts, got it?

[Keith shrugged a little, trying not to hear "small" as a tease over his predicament.]

No whatever, Keith. I mean it. You're still you, but you're...well, okay, let's face it, you're bitty right now. You can get hurt a lot more easily than you do normally. So for the sake of your health and my poor heart, promise me you'll behave, okay?

[He's gonna try to make him anyway!]

[Keith gave Lance a massive pout.]

[Well, mostly. He probably was going to need some help reaching stuff in overhead cabinets, but he could still climb!]

You can't exactly fight like you normally can. Or...do half the crazy stunts you try to pull every other day.

[Keith crossed his little arms, glaring at Lance.]

Still! You know I'm gonna worry anyway. Let me just kind of, I don't know, be your guardian for now, okay?

Why do I need a guardian all of a sudden?

[Keith stretched his arms and legs out in front of him. It wasn't very far.]

Think of it the other way around, Keith. If I turned into a nine year old, would you really want me running around an entire fleet unchecked?

[And Lance behaves better than Keith in most areas!]

[Keith sagged, all four limbs flopping back down rather dramatically.]

I would not be! Okay, so I was an eccentric kiddo and I didn't always obey all the rules all the time, but you cannot tell me with a straight face that you weren't ten times worse than me. Mr. Bad Boy.

[He gives him a little shove, laughing.]

[He pouted at the shove, and then crossed his arms again to pout.

Though, for good measure, he lightly kicked Lance in the shin.]

Keith, I've been around kids all my life. I've taken care of them. And I know just how easy it is for someone small to get themselves hurt. And in a place like this? With someone who acts as reckless as you do?
