[Waking up on the Marsiva had been enough of a shock, like, what??? Why was he suddenly in space?? Like it was kinda cool too, but what?? Then, just when Atsushi was staring to get comfortable and settled in, he'd been mysteriously transported to what he assumes is another ship, and now he's as confused as ever.

With confetti stuck in his oddly cut hair, Atsushi notices the free pudding like stuff first, but for once in his life, he's more concerned with where he is than food.]

Um...is...anyone listening? This is Atsushi Nakajima...and I have no idea where I am...I just came from the Marsiva, actually...

[He makes a mental note that Atushi is familiar with Akutagawa.]

Ah, bingo! Akutagawa is one of my subordinates. To think I didn't get to meet the wanted mantiger before now!

[Chuuya laughs. No fair that he missed out on this kind of fun!]

[Chuuya scratches his head, surprised by this. Then considers that perhaps he shouldn't be so surprised... Everyone is always after Atsushi, after all, so he's used to expecting this.]

It's not like I'll get the big bucks for handing you in, you know? That doesn't apply here.

[Atsushi’s face lights up.]

[He stares at Atsushi as if he's waiting for him to say he's joking.]

Just like that you're gonna ask to be friends with a criminal?

[He’s totally not joking.]

Well...you said it yourself, right? Things are different out here. I don’t see why we can’t just start over!

[mrfancyhat]

[Someone on his own crew said the same thing before, and he thought about it often. Still, he wasn't sure about it. A criminal is a criminal forever, is his feeling, when it's all that he knew. Regardless, it felt wrong to say "no" to something this innocent.]

I mean... I guess we can see how it goes...

[That’s a good enough answer for Atsushi, honestly, and Chuuya will receive a big, bright smile in return.]

Are you on a different ship? I just got here...on the Blameless, I think it’s called. [He laughs.] I’m not sure that name really fits me...

[He gives a little nod.]

[It’s a habit to add honorifics, even when he doesn’t have to.]

How did you end up in space, anyway?

Hm, beats me. Maybe I drank too much that day... maybe I was pulled in by the difference in gravity.

[You see what he did there. He recalls that others of the ADA knew who he was, and his ability, but since Atsushi didn't, that made things more fun.]

Oh...I’m kind of the same. It’s really intimidating to think that we’re being watched all the time...

[Oh no, what about when he’s in the shower?! Embarrassing...

He sincerely hopes privacy is a thing in space.]

Is it really that different from home in that sense?

[Genuinely curious, since Atsushi brought it up.]

People did always keep an eye out for you, and it was a bit more malicious at times. Here, it's a bit more... relaxing? As in you can go on living your life normally and you'll forget you're being watched. And should anything happen, you'll have your shipmates to defend you.

You’re right...at least I’m not being hunted out here.

[A pause as Atsushi smiles sadly.]

But I do miss everyone at the ADA. Especially Kyouka-chan and Dazai-san.

[Oh no he didn't just bring that bastard up.]

Tch! Don't waste your time missing that bandaged freak. He probably won't think about you at all!

You don’t think so?

[No, surely Dazai misses him at least a little.]

Do you miss anyone back home?

That vagabond only thinks of himself!

[Missing people isn't something he likes to think about much, which in turn means he thinks about it more than he likes. This annoyed him, and he sighs.]

Of course I do. I have friends too.

[Stop making him feel all awkward, god.]

[Atsushi’s smile only grows brighter. Even if Chuuya is with the Port Mafia, Atsushi isn’t getting bad vibes from him, and he thinks that everybody deserves a chance.]
