[As if waking up on a strange ship alone wasn't enough when Ulaz knew he shouldn't be there, now he was on yet another ship. This really was not funny. His attempts to try and get information through hacking had been poor at best and he was no closer to figuring what had happened.

He had learned one thing though; he did not like confetti. It was not amusing in the least.

He'd been pretty much silent so far - if being a Blade had taught him nothing else, it was how to make as little noise as possible. But now he doesn't really have a choice]

Can someone explain what is going on here? First I was on one ship and now another, neither of them where I should be. This must be a joke.

[And why does he say that? Hmm...]

...Wait a tick. Upon seeing the communication, Lance immediately feels himself tense up, because Galra. The Galra shouldn't be here. And he's about to grab his bayard, run and go get Shiro, until his memory finally kicks in.

Yes, it's a Galra, but their face is familiar. And not in a "person who was trying to kill me" way.]

Hey! You! You're... I know you, don't I?

[Oh, hey, someone else who is probably not from Earth! Even if Mon-El very much looks like he should be.]

If you're not laughing I would go with not a joke.

No, I'm afraid it isn't a joke. If it were it would be a terrible one.

The short answer is you have been abducted.

[Very good, Lance. It is a Galra. But though annoyed, he didn’t seem particularly threatening. He also did recognize the face that appeared on the screen. It hadn’t been that long for him so it was rather easy.

However Lance also doesn't know how much it relieves Ulaz to see one of the paladins, both because he knows them and because it tells him they survived the Robeast]

[Nope, Ulaz is definitely not human. The person on the screen does look like he is human as far as Ulaz can tell. Considering he hadn’t seen anything resembling them before Shiro]

Then its not. I’m not laughing. I don’t know who thinks throwing tiny bits of trash at someone is funny.

[And he’s brushing a piece of confetti off his suit]

I'm not sure if it is better to know its not a joke or not.

I wouldn't have thought there was anything different to this. And what is the long story?

[but the confetti is the best part. Still, it isn't hard to miss a new arrival to the ship, so Baku goes to find out who they've gained this time]

The longer story is that our abduction is to serve as entertainment for those in charge of this fleet of ships. The Atroma. As the tale goes, our actions are being watched by people throughout the galaxy for fun.

Ulaz! That was it! You're Shiro's buddy! You...

[Sacrificed himself to save them all.

...well, quiznak, he feels awkward and more than a little guilty of not immediately remembering his name.]

Guess you got zapped here along with a bunch of us too, huh? The timing's wonky, but apparently that's a thing here... Anyway, if you forgot my name, I'm Lance! Blue paladin. ...Red paladin? ...It's complicated. Let's just stick with "Lance".

[Like Baku, Doudanuki goes 'hunting' when he hears the confetti and the arrival of someone new on the ship. It hasn't been bad with just the two of them on the Caprine, but a new face means the possibility of a new position on the ship and thus more amenities. He can hope for a security officer, right? He just wants weapons on board. More than the ones that Furiosa stashed everywhere like some weird squirrel.

Honestly, he wasn't expecting anyone quite so....purple.]

Atroma? Never heard of them. And I'll let me guess that no one knows how they carry out their abductions either.

"Buddy?"

[He says it like it is a word he is unfamiliar with. Galra didn't really have "buddies" as such. There were others you worked with, ones that you probably wouldn't rat out if they broke one rule, ones you tolerated... but "buddy" is new]

I would think that I am here too.

[Otherwise this is one heck of a hallucination.

He does raise an eyebrow as Lance seems to be backpedaling through what his title was. He had thought the Red Paladin was one of the three who had accompanied Shiro to the Thaldycon outpost - considering they had gone there in the Red Lion. So why had he said "red"?]

Sounds like it is easier. Lance.

[Sorry, no security officer. Lab support, which still gives them more stuff. Of course he might eventually find that he's probably just as good as security even though not his position.

For now, a little hard to tell aside from tall, purple alien with yellow eyes]

[she doesn't seem to mind, and in fact stares evenly right back. She doesn't break eye contact, just tilts her head]

Tiny bits of...Oh! The confetti. No, that's for celebration, not humor. There should be pudding too.

[It's been a crappy month for Shiro. So crappy. So when he hears that voice, at first he thinks he's dreaming again. There are many things that haunt Shiro's nightmares, and Ulaz's death will always be one of those.

But then he picks up his communicator and... it's real. He is real. He's here... Atroma, you quiznak. His hand trembles when he presses the button to answer, eyes wide when he appears on the screen.]

...U-ulaz?

[Well, at least she's not particularly worried about him. He's used to the Galra not being liked and he's pretty tall. Not that she seems concerned]

I would appreciate an explanation.

A question. Are you familiar with the Galra race?

[Has to make sure its safe first. He's started to gather from at least one other explanation he's not at home, but he can't let his guard down]

[she is completely unconcerned. She's also tiny, just under five feet, so . . . enjoying towering over her.

She shakes her head at his question] I'm not, I'm afraid. That's a question you may be better off asking on the network, though. We're all from different universes - someone here may share the one you're from.

So you throw... confetti at people for celebration? Sounds like a way to annoy them.

[Good thing he didn't experience a glitter bomb]

Pudding? What is that?

[He sees the rather shocked, but familiar face come over the communicator and its met with a probably only slightly less shocked look]

Shiro? You are here?

[It's a relief, honestly. Both for actually knowing someone and because it calms the nagging in the back of his mind that he hadn't been able to save them]

Sorry, it's not a joke! Buuuut it'll be okay, it's not all that bad here.

Nor had I, before I came here. You are correct in that - none have ever seen the Atroma in person, from what I've been told. On rare occasions they send messages through the Fleet. Though I have yet to see that happen either.

How they manage to pull us here is beyond our understanding.

Well, the short answer is "space reality show." The long answer is... okay I actually don't have one. But it's not a joke, unless it's one with a really delayed punchline...

[All of this is still kind of a headache for him, buddy.]

If it's any consolation, I had to deal with the same thing? It's really not something I'd recommend, but at least they didn't give you a headache with that second jump.

[That does help to reassure him even if not completely]

Most Galra, you would know if they are here. If someone is from where I am, they'll know the answer.

[He can't just ask if there are Galra here. It would sound even more suspicious considering they've seen his face already]
