Good evening. I'm Arthur Kirkland, for those who have not met me directly, and I am looking for a few volunteers.

You see, I am looking to start a business venture in the reasonably new future, a tailor's shop for the fleet. For those of us who might want something to wear that's a little closer to home, and neither the fleet's offerings or whatever one finds when we settle in orbit.

So, in order to get started, I'll need a few models to work off of. Of course, I'm not asking for your time for free. I'd be willing to create one additional outfit free of charge for whoever works with me. Preferably, I would like four volunteers, in a reasonable mix of men and women.

I have, but it's been a few years since I did it.

We'll want to set up a meeting to do some design sketches and take your measurements of course.

[It's an innocuous question, with no undercurrent like he's troubled by it—a curiosity like soap bubbles.]

Most likely, for advertising purposes.

But we could obscure your face if you're concerned about privacy.

Oh, I'm not concerned about anything. I like pictures, so I was hoping there would be some. If you don't mind my face and body, it sounds fun.

Ha, not at all!

I'm sure I could get you a copy of them too, if you'd like.

Ya 'ny good at makin' suits? [Not that Remy needed a suit, but it was nice to have a well tailored one. You never knew when you wanted to dress up for a special event, and it could be very hit or miss with different planets clothing. Plus, he was still trying to get his wardrobe back up to scratch, having lost it all when he had vanished from the Fleet last year. Some of those pieces were hard to come by, and having a person who could tailor them to fit would be very handy.]

I certainly like to think so!

I've been tailoring for friends and family for quite a while back home.

Is there a specific style you're interested in?

Always been a fan of Italian style m'self, they tend to go a bit more on the slimmin' side than I find 'merican or even British versions. Though would certainly take British as a second option.

'ssumin' ya plannin' on sourcin' materials on the planets we stop at, that or takin' an option of second hand stuff supplied by our oh so lovely sponsors to remade 'nto other items.

I have some familiarity with Italian styles. I think we'll be able to find something that suits you.

My main plan is to source my fabrics and trimmings from the planets, yes. So far my sponsor gifts have been less than useful.

Ah, sponsor drops can be a case of a double edge sword, never know just what ya might end up with.

[Actually, having a tailor in the Fleet could be a lot more handy than Remy first realized...] Ya able to do alterations to preexistin' clothin' as well? I got a few that could use some extra additions, hidden pockets 'nd the like. [As much as Remy loved his coat, he couldn't rely on always having it and he needed back ups that could hold a lot of stuff but be subtle about it.]

[Oh! Oh!!! Modeling! Lance has always thought he'd make an amazing model, what with his long legs and meticulously taken care of face. He's more than happy to jump at this opportunity.]

[Chuckles. He's got enthusiasm, will give him that.]

Whenever's good for me. Just not too early in the day...that's when I'm either sleeping or being forced to go to the gym.

What kinda clothes are you planning on making?

Ha ha, that shouldn't be any trouble. Perhaps noon on the first?

A decent variety of practical, dressy, and fun styles. It'll also largely depend on client request.

Sounds like a plan! I'll be...uh, wherever you want me to be.

Awesome. I like to think I look good in anything, so I'll be perfect to try different things on.

I don't have the shop set up yet, so either I could come to you or you could come meet me on the Wonderduck.

(While Alisaie is fond of her clothes, it is tiresome to wash the same stuff over and over again, especially when it's coated in oils from working on the ship. Becoming an engineer has created a new set of problems for her, and problems need solving. So while she doesn't know this guy, the prospect of getting free clothes just for standing around sounds a bit too ideal.)

Well met, Arthur. How would you like a volunteer that has an identical brother that she might be able coerce into helping out as well? (She didn't even ask Alphinaud about this. Hopefully he's not watching!

And if he is, then he better get her something nice to wear soon lest he ends up playing dress up alongside her.)

[Hm, it'd put him over his originally planned four, but... He does need another woman, and twins could make a very striking advertizing photo.]

I think that would work out very well, miss.

(Never to fear, it isn't as if he'll have to compensate the brother: the true payment is making his darling sister smile and look cute. It's his role as her brother to look out for her and if that means indulging in a little dress-up so that she can dress-up as a lady should, then well. Shouldn't he? That's what she'll say at least.)

Truly? (Alisaie is a bit surprised by this only because she thought she would have to really work her way in there. She's not the best at diplomacy (that's Alphinaud's forte), so she's quite pleased with herself.)

[That is a proper reward, agrees. He's never had any sisters but can imagine it's not far off from dealing with the daughters of his leaders and his own female colonies.]

First, we'll need to pick a time that we can sit down and get a design sketch put together, as well as measurements.

(A time to meet up... That might be a bit harder to coordinate. It isn't as if she has a copy of her brother's agenda in hand at any given moment, but no matter! Whatever task it was he was busy with could be postponed, should he be occupied and all...)

Forgive me, I didn't mean to neglect the most basic of courtesies. I am Alisaie, and my brother--who you will meet soon enough--is Alphinaud. My schedule is fortunately light so if you have a time in mind, I will arrange for it.

I hope it'll make a nice change from hoping to find decent things on alien planets or those jumpsuits. Fine for working on the engines, less so for going out to be social.

Very fair offer to entice a few models to come forth. I wouldn't mind helping out. Alterations are expensive as it is without having to go planetide and hoping for the best.

I think I have a full roster of models, but if you help out when I'm setting up shop I could see about a discount.

I'll have to keep you in mind for next season then. I have a pretty full collection so far for the opening.

Are you going to host a full on fashion show? Catwalk and everything?
