Who: Lance and you!
Broadcast: Fleetwide video
Action: Iskaulit
When: Early February
[The scene: The swimming pool on the Iskaulit. The players: Lance (dressed in his favorite blue swimming trunks) and...something splashing about in the water. The aforementioned person is grinning widely at the screen, his hair wet and plastered against his face, skin damp.]
Everyooooone! I can't believe I didn't introduce you all to my new best buddy--okay, one of my new best buddies, no offense to current best buddies. I met him on Selvin-9, and he was too adorable to leave behind. Hang on, lemme grab him--
[Lance kneels down next to the water and gives a little whistle. A small, brown shape swims over, and Lance scoops him up into his arms before moving back to the camera. It's a young otter, looking absolutely adorable, as baby otters should.]
Everyone meet Oliver the otter! He's incredibly cute, he's fast, and he's a great swimmer. Me and him have a ton alike, obviously. We're usually at the Iskaulit every day for a swim, so come say hi sometime!

action
He was sitting on the side of the pool, his legs hanging in and swirling around. The small snow leopard was sitting next to him, leaning over the water, and then reached in with her paw.]
Hey... Easy there. You might fall -!!! [SPLASH!] Lance!
[Keith dropped in after the cub to try to catch her, afraid she wasn't going to be able to swim. But, somehow, she started to figure it out, paddling her oversized paws and staying afloat.]
no subject
...Oh my god, that's so cute.
no subject
I didn't... I didn't think she could do that.
[But, sure... no problem... just swimming around like it was nothing. Her long tail trailed out behind her, her ears flat back to keep the water out, she moved around almost like a dog, but with less bobbing up and down.]
no subject
[He quickly shakes his head. Nope. Not thinking about that. Only happy thoughts right now. Oliver swims up to the leopard, making curious squeaking sounds at her.]
Awwwwww!
no subject
She started to purr a little once she was balanced enough on his hand to lift her head completely from the water.]
Well, if you ever get stuck on an ice planet, I'd imagine Red would be pretty good at keeping you warm.
[Keith gave Lance a small smile. After all, the Lions made the final choice on who they wanted to work with, right? So, the whole switch kind of sucked all around, but they still had to make the best of it. Voltron was important, and, as long as they could make it work, it didn't really matter who the Lions chose...
Even if it wasn't the Paladin's first choice...]

[He swims over, giving Keith a kiss on the cheek. Lance smiles as he looks down; Keith's really good with animals. He wonders, vaguely, how he'd do with kids, how it'd be if he met his little cousins...
(Would they still be little by the time they got back?)
But he focuses on the here and now. Like how Oliver is diving under the water, how Snow looks perfectly content for a cat in water, and that little smile on Keith's face.]

Keith gave Lance another small smile in response to the kiss. It was a small gesture, but a comforting one, chasing away the thoughts of having given up Voltron for the Blades. It hurt, but he'd deal. The team was strong right now, so he'd live with it. It was something he believed in and felt he needed to do, even if it wasn't something he wanted to do.
Letting those feelings fade and giving Lance a small kiss in return was nice. Feeling the soft, rumbling vibration of the purring cat in his arms was nice. Being in the pool like this was nice. And Keith let himself get lost in it.]

[He can't help but tease, even as he leans in to give Keith yet another kiss. The best thing both of them can do, he thinks, is to focus on the here and now. Their lives here, and not the war back home.]
You and Snow should join us more here! We can teach you two to be better swimmers.
no subject
I'm not a cat.
[He just had to make that point, but he let Lance kiss him anyway in the end.]
Hey... I'm a pretty decent swimmer.
[Considering the only training he'd ever gotten for it was through the Garrison, he probably was. It was clear he hadn't grown up with it, but he was a quick study, especially with physical activity.
Snow punctuated the moment with a sneeze that sprayed them both with water.]
no subject
[Smirk--and then he's cut off by Snow sneezing water at them, and Lance can't stand the cuteness. He can't. How do people survive when animals are this cute?]
no subject
Bless you...
[Yes. He said that to a cat.]
Hey, I gave you a pretty good run for your money. I bet I could get even closer to beating you this time.
[After all, he'd been swimming with bruised ribs last time, too.]
no subject
[And it's okay to say that to a cat. He talks to Oliver all the time as it is anyway.]
no subject
You're on.
[He lifted Snow and put her up on the side of the pool. She mewled a little, but laid down where she was put, letting her tail dangle in the water. Then, Keith gave Lance a playful shove and moved down the pool a bit so they wouldn't end up accidentally swimming over Oliver or something.]
no subject
Don't let your pride hurt too much when I still whoop your butt, desert boy.
no subject
[He smirked, gripping the wall of the pool and bracing himself for a starting push off.]
no subject
[He gives him a shove, laughing as he braces himself as well.]
Ready?
no subject
[Don't logic this, Lance.
Keith rebalanced himself after the shove, and then nodded.]
Ready.
no subject
[He sticks out his tongue. Either way, though, he focuses himself-- Lance will not let Keith beat him in this.]
Three... Two... One... Go!
[And he launches himself off of the wall. Maybe this is just a friendly race, but it's still Keith, and Lance is trying as hard as he used to back in swim meets as a kid.]
no subject
It was a back and forth race, reaching the far side, turning, and then heading back again to where they started. However, as Keith grabbed the wall a few seconds after Lance did, he did reach over and playfully dunk his boyfriend under the water in slight revenge, knowing full well he was setting himself up for a dunking and/or splash fight.]
no subject
Oh, now you've started it, boy.
When he surfaces, Lance braces himself against the side as if he's about to race again, but this time, launches himself right at Keith to drag him down under the water.]
