[She'd apologise for the deafening thunk of a very solid piece of metal striking the floor in front of your screens, but she's in too bad a mood. It's the business end of a battle axe, runes inscribed along the metal edge and the weapon far too ridiculously big for a person like Katie to use. In fact, it's not temper that made her slam the stupid thing into the floor. She just can't lift it for very long, it's too goddamned heavy.

(Especially for someone who's been out cold for nearly three months, and this is what she comes back to?)]

Now. Who's responsible for this? Where did you get it?

[Anyone who saw any Tully-related flashbacks in calibrations will recognise the weapon for his. Otherwise, the runework is distinctly Scandinavian (Younger Futhark, to be precise) if there are any geeks in the audience.

...also, that's from the Atroma and it's been sitting in the cargo bay for months. Merry belated Christmas? She really appreciates it. Honest.]

[In person, one can find Katie either dragging said stupid axe back to her quarters on the Vanquish, down at the fox park on the Iskaulit, or lurking at a table in Malum and getting really drunk, which is possibly not wise but par for the course.]

[She especially wanted to talk about her giant, unworldly axe. If he could see her cat ears they'd be laid back flat against her head. But she answers pleasantly enough.]

Did you see the size of that thing? Far too much effort to lug it all the way here. I can't even designate it to drive.

That's a tragedy. So, I'm guessing it has a story to it and it's not just a random useless Atroma gift?

It could be both. It's my very favourite paperweight from home.

[The last few months have sucked. A lot. Eizen dumped her and went to the Red Fish with Velvet. Dezel went home to be an idiot. And she's on the Huntress with her idiots.

But things went from crappy to slow and she's just not sure if she wants to deal with it. Her mountain is a safe space though. That's why she's on the Iskaulit, but she stops when she feels a familiar sort of presence. Carefully, she makes her way to the fox park, umbrella twirling a bit before it stops.]

So, you're alive.

[The fox park is kept cold by magic, which is why it's Katie's go to when her reserves are running low. Well, that and the foxes are cute. She's flopped on her back in a less snowy area with her eyes closed, absently petting a fox, though she'll crack an eye open at that familiar voice.]

Well, I suppose from a certain point of view.

[Mildly. Her mood is still shot, but Edna's a welcome presence anyway.]

[Edna has never once given a crap about anyone else's bad mood a day in her long life. However, she does wonder what's going on with her friend. She's been asleep for far too long.]

You're not a zombie or a skeleton, so you must be alive.

[It's Edna logic.]

[It's definitely something he files away for the future. Probably best not to bring them up just now. She's not in a good mood and he's rather not have anyone raging in his bar.]

And here's me, only having a weird-shaped glass thing.

[It was the ungodly sound of the axe on the halls of the ship that had Shepard coming to investigate. When he got there, he made sure to pitch his voice a little louder to be heard over the din.]

I've been awake a lifetime, were I a mayfly. Also, I could be a golem. There's often debates on whether cats have souls.

[Now that that's cleared up. There's a brief pause, then she smiles a bit.] Have you been terribly bored while I was away?

I know that cat's supposedly have nine lives, but this is the first time I've heard that they're soulless.

[But it's nice to have nonsensical crap to talk about with someone she actually likes and doesn't annoy her more than normal. And isn't Sorey.]

Of course. While you were off getting your cat naps in for the next few decades, I was dealing with a bunch of stupid.

[Edna comes into the park formally and sits not too far from her friend.]

[They're quite comfortably curled around each other, anyway.]

Well, you can't really knock weird-shaped glass things. They're at least good for guessing games. Or hitting burglars.

[Katie comes to a stop at the question. If she were a little less drained, this wouldn't be an issue. She sizes him up, hands curled protectively around the axe haft. It's Tully's axe. Nobody else should touch it.

But. She doesn't want to go into that.]

Would you mind? I'd rather get it over and done with.

I generally have other ways of dealing with anyone stupid enough to try and steal from me, but yeah, sure. I like it 'cause it's pretty.

Not the irreversible kind of stupid, one hopes.

[She closes her eyes again, quite relaxed. Look, it's mark of trust. Or something.]

Have you had many such stupid people?

That's a pretty impressive ax.

Not in the Fleet, thankfully. Back home, I had one or two. Humans- they'll always try their luck even when the odds are stacked against them.

[But that's not healthy.]

I've been asleep for half a year. You might need to narrow that down a little.

Something that can be said both for and against them, I suppose. [Generally, she likes it. Blind confidence is a wonderful emotion to snack on.]

I would be entertained if they tried stealing from me once in a while.

Exactly! I'm fond of the duplicitous nature, to be honest. You can never guess what you're going to get from them.

[Katie you are fast making him A Fan of you. ]

It's very entertaining. It's that one moment when they realise they fucked up in ways they could never imagine before. Their little eyes bulge out of their heads and everything.

[She doesn't have her lizards or the fuzzy slugs. They're all on her mountain. Which is where she was headed before she saw Katie in the first place.]

It involves my idiot brother and Zaveid, so of course it's irreversible. You're not surprised, are you?

[She's almost to her quarters when Felix appears in the hatchway to his, curious and concerned about the sound. For a second his face is confused, and then he notices it's her and the look melts to surprise and something not exactly relief but absolutely in the same family.]

Hey. You're up.

[......And dragging a giant axe....?]

How are you feeling?

[That brings an outright giggle.] And do you think they learn from the experience? Or do they just learn not to try it again with you?

I'm never surprised. Did they both survive their stupidity?

[A tongue-in-cheek question. Though she's mildly concerned. Not that she's met either of them, but their impact on Edna is obvious.]
